Easy check-in process, great home (especially the outdoor space), wonderful location, friendly involved host who helped quickly mitigate any issues that arose.Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
It's no easy task to fit 4 children, 3 married couples, and 2 grandparents under one roof. To do so in Ventnor City in August is practically impossible. But Lisa's home provided everything we needed in terms of beds, furnishing, kitchenware, cleanliness, and location. Also, Lisa was very responsive when we had questions (e.g. explaining the beach tag situation). We would love to stay here again!
Our stay at the Somerset Stunner was perfect! The house was so beautiful, with all of the modern amenities we could ask for. Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy our last few days of summer! We would definitely rebook! Thank you Lisa for a beautiful home we could call "ours" for our visit!

Thanks so much Laura and family. You were the perfect guests. So happy that you appreciate our 99-year old home in the historic St Leonard’s Tract District. Yes! It’s a home they eat they used to build them, with real molding, high ceilings, and for 1921, a very open layout. We have worked hard over the past four years to modernize the interior — now four full bathrooms, a great kitchen and laundry conveniently located upstairs! And feel free to refer to Shore Stunner as summer house! Hopefully you will return each year to make memories with your family.
We had a wonderful family vacation at the shore thanks to our amazing hosts. The house was plenty big for our family and friends (10 people). Easy access to the boardwalk, beach, tennis courts and basketball courts, all just 2 blocks away. Hope to be back next year.

Lori is as the perfect guest! Responsive, organized and respectful of our home and neighborhood— so friendly too. She even asked how she could help me when I wasn’t feeling too well! This was Lori’s first VRBO experience and I think it went well for her. A plus guest. I would highly recommend her and her family as guests.
Lisa is a wonderful hostess. She made everything so simple and accommodated several requests. She was able to be home to accept a few delivery’s for us making it seamless upon arrival. House is charming. Lovely people.

Sheryl, you and your family were a pleasure to host! Great communication. We hope that if Ventnor is in your plans in the future that you will choose Shore Stunner again.
Lisa's home was a great house for our family. It was clean, well supplied, and was true to the description on line. Lisa responded to our messages very quickly, even though she was away. We vacationed with our son and daughter, their spouses, and two young grandsons. The home has 5 showers which was wonderful when getting ready for the evening after our stay on the beach.
Our check in was personalized with a tour of the house and how to work the appliances and which light switches worked which room - but all the light switches were labeled by Lisa, which was necessary considering all the rooms in this large house. My son-in-law worked from the house, so there were outside and inside areas where he had privacy. The secret passages (our name for them), were fun for our grandsons and made it easy for us to get from one room to another when we were upstairs. The size and layout of the home gave us plenty of space, so we never felt like we were on top of each other.
Walking to the beach was easy, even with an almost 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old. The house is close to the beach and playground, and the beach cart definitely helped. We were able to walk to Wawa to pick up sandwiches for lunch on the beach, and an ice cream shop and restaurants were in walking distance as well.
We would definitely want to stay at this home again. Thanks, Lisa!

Diedre, We’re so pleased that you were able to identify and maximize all of the great features of our home and area. Your detailed explanation of what it’s really like to spend a week at our home is such a valuable resource for future guests. We look forward to hosting you and your family again soon.
A very streamlined experience! The property was very special and the owner was extremely responsive. It was a pleasure to stay in a beautifully updated historic home.
This was our second time staying. We will no doubt be coming back for another stay at this wonderful home. Fabulous location. Has everything you need to enjoy the shore. Lisa and her family were excellent hosts. She even rescued our stuffy for our little one after we accidentally left it. We highly recommend staying here!
Lisa was very friendly and helpful and easy to communicate with. House was spacious, comfortable, clean and well -situated- as advertised. The listing needed to clarify that the outdoor space was shared - which was a little awkward, and the grill was not available for guests. There was no undercover storage for bikes, although Hosts were kind to help
by sharing their porch space. Also, Lisa was quick to help out with a couple of repairs issues that arose in the first days of our stay.
Would recommend this house to future guests.
Very comfortable spacious home, updated while maintaining much of its old charm. Especially appreciated the fully updated bathrooms as well as the air conditioning that managed to keep the house cool despite 80+ degree heat the week we were there! The house is stocked with all the basics as well as all you need for beach (lots of beach chairs and towels) Lisa is a great host who goes above and beyond in making your stay enjoyable.

We loved having Linda and her family as our guests! They appreciated our home for its historical elements(celebrating its 100th anniversary this year) and we are pleased that they also appreciated it's updated interior, electrical and HVAC systems all brand new for the way we all live today. They were communicative, responsive, and friendly. Welcome to return any time!
Easy summer living ! Great location - near to playground , beach, & bay.
Lisa was a great host- ready to help with any needs. Would definitely visit again!
The property was very nice. It accommodated our large evening gatherings of about 20 family members well. Pretty easy walk to the beach. Lisa was very helpful!

Amazing Family-Friendly Beach Property
We stayed in the Somerset Stunner for a long weekend at the end of August to have a gathering of friends and family and it did not disappoint! The property is tucked quietly away from main roads and yet is only a 5 minute walk to the beach, tennis courts, the boardwalk and plentiful dining/food options. As we had several toddlers with us, the house was also very friendly for families with most rooms having an en-suite bathroom and plentiful space and was generally child friendly.
Lisa, the owner, is incredibly nice and super helpful with respect to check in and out and keeps the house very clean and in beautiful condition. We are already in talks to rent the same house again next summer!

Beach House
My brother from Maryland and I (from NY) were looking for a place to meet up that was half way between us. We decide on the Jersey shore and were extremely lucky to find this home with only one week notice. We were greeted with a tasty wine and beach tags. The owner was very helpful and got in contact with me from the day I booked the trip and answered all my questions until the day it ended. She helped us with food choices and things to do. She was like my own personal concierge. This house has everything any group would ever need. Upon our arrival the kids ran into this very clean beautiful home and went exploring. It kept them busy for a few hours because there were so many nooks and crannies. All 9 of us slept comfortably and had privacy. There are plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms to accommodate any size group. We were 2 families plus one senior.
There is also a shower outside the house which we used every time we came back from the beach plus beach chairs, beach towels, toys and umbrella. The beach is only a few blocks away and there is a Wawa and sandwich shop along the way. We also walked to a local restaurant for dinner and went to Margate the next night for dinner and ice cream. This is a place I would definitely take my family to again in the near future. I would recommend this house to any group who wants to stay in a beautiful home, close to the beach, restaurants and of course Atlantic City.

The perfect house in a great location.
Some family, friends and I were looking for a place to stay for a weekend and we were extremely lucky to find this place. We were greeted with a welcome basket which included wine and beach tags for our use. It had everything that you could possibly want or need. One of the groups favorite things about the house was the beauty behind the way it's age and classic look harmonized with the more modern aspects of the house. If you are one for tasteful decor and hundred year old architecture then this place is for you. If you enjoy a more modern feel for a beach home, this place is able to cover that as well. From the outside, you wouldn't expect the amount of space the house has which there certainly is plenty of. All 7 of us were able to sleep comfortably and have privacy. There are plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms to accommodate groups of any size. In addition to the interior; the lawn is beautifully decorated, there is a one car garage (which included beach chairs and any beach gear we'd want to use) with a good sized driveway, and a very nice roof deck for an early morning coffee or a night cap before bed. The house itself was so great it was easy to overlook it's prime location. About a block and half from the beach, walking there was no issue at all especially with slow traffic. If you're interested in the Atlantic City shopping, restaurants or night life that is only a nice walk or short drive away (Uber available as well). Other convenient stores like Wawa were a short walk away in case you need any essentials. This is a place that I would definitely take my family and friends to again and we couldn't have asked for more kind hosts! I'd recommend this house to any group visiting the area!

About the host
Hosted by Lisa
Our family has lived in summer homes at theJersey Shore-- including Ventnor, Atlantic City and Brigantine for five generations. All from the Phildelphia area, we grew up as fishermen and women, card players, paper boys and girls, teen busboys, waitresses and sandwich men. We've had boats and bikes and so many wonderful times at the shore that brought grandparents together with grandchildren, kids together with their cousins that layed the groundwork for lifelong close ties and many special memories. Now during "the year" we live in northern NJ, but go "down the shore" to "the house" like Springsteen and Philly people do whenever we can.
Why they chose this property
My parents purchased this stately home (built in 1921, so yes, it' the house is 101 years young) in 1987 because they just fell in love with its elegance, high ceilings, and real molding. The bones are so good, you can spend an afternoon just looking at the wainscotting. Thirty-four years ago my mom saw the owner walking down the staircase and wanted to be her! The owner's husband came to this country 17 years earlier from Greece and was our kitchen contractor at our Aberdeen house. A decade and change later, my Dad bought this stately home from him. That's America! They loved that this house was on the narrowest part of Absecon island, making it 2 blocks from the beach and one house from the bay. It's a corner home which affords access from two different streets. Instead of selling this gorgeous family compound, we renovated every room and bathroom, the courtyard, and restored it to its roaring 20's glory. Now its' got every modern convenience on the inside, with vintage charm. Come share the experience, the sea breeze, and the memories that will last a lifetime.
What makes this property unique
Our home just lives well. It sprawls over a corner and many people can be there at once but you never exactly see them. An addition with two bedrooms was added in the 1940's. Each of these rooms, affectionately known as the Pink and Green rooms (although not that color anymore) have their own bathroom. An enclosed front yard and courtyard is a rare feature for Ventnor. There is a second floor deck off one of the bedrooms, good for quiet conversation. Nooks and crannies are fun for children. Location, Location, Locatioin is the order of the day as the beach is just 2 blocks east. We are 10 minutes from Casinos, and the Tangier shopping outlets. For quieter Ventnor evenings walk over the Dorset Ave Bridge for ice cream, the restored Ventnor Movie theatre just a few blocks away, or to Wawa, Dunkin', movie theatre, restaurants, sub shops and shopping. We even have dog groomers/dog stay-places where you can board and visit your dog during your stay.
