Portpatrick is one of the most popular holiday villages on the coast of south west Scotland, with its pretty little harbour, quirky shops, small putting green and of course you can take a trip from the harbour to enjoy a spot of fishing or just a leisure cruise. Walkers are well catered for in Portpatrick with spectacular cliff paths in both directions, where you can follow the path past Dunskey Castle to Knockinaam, or past several secluded bays to Killantringan Lighthouse. The walk from the village to Killantringan is the start of the Southern Upland Way.
The village is a hive of activity throughout the year. Events include the RNLI Lifeboat Week, the Music Festival, farmer’s markets, craft fayres and vintage truck rallies. Being on the South West Coastal 300, a stunningly beautiful touring route throughout the whole region, Portpatrick is the perfect base for your holiday. Having explored the area return and enjoy a superb meal and a glass of wine at a nearby restaurant overlooking the water, where you can take advantage of a 10% discount privilege card while staying at Number Nine.
