My friend and I stayed in casita del sur for 8 days. we didn't have a car. We came from the airport in santiago and got to Padron by train. There we took a taxi to this casita.
This casita is beautifull renovated. It has all the luxury you want, but the old typical Galician style is remained. Renovated with a Galician heart. Perfect kitchen, all tools available, great bathroom, great terrace, garden, great livingroom too which we didn't used because of the great weather. Ow yes, and a supurb sleepingroom with a great bed!! Never slept better on a holiday! The casita is surrounded by a great garden, the back yard is nice to chill in, with a nice open view, the front yard is full of plants and flowers. Nice small gardening details. :-) We had no car but two mountainbikes were available. We did most by feet. In Soar, a small village nearby (4km) is a small grocery. All basic food we needed we found there. A very nice shopkeeper as well, had a small bar inside where we tasted Albariño and Ribeiro. Too much in fact. Nearby is also a great pub: bar Giao, typical Galician bar. Nice owner as well, Javi, and very good wine and food. Had a lot of fun there.
Nature is lovely there, we made loads of walks, all nearby because we had no car. You don't have to go far to enjoy the beautifull nature en small villages. The owners of the cottages were on holiday, so we had all information and help from Pili, a neighbour of the owners. She was lovely, she took very good care of us. She gave us a lift to Rio Jerez, a 15km from Rebon the Arriba. What a spot, what a place, what a river. Thank you for that Pili. We spend there one day completely alone... it was magic. And also many walks to make alongside the river.
We walked also to Santa Lucia de Moraña (7km) , where we took part of the festa do Carneiro. And at night we enjoyed lifemusic of Milladoiro, a popular Galician Band, which was a great surprise. Great party in the town. Then we got back by feet, which was a bit harder. Luckely we got lift.
And it was always nice to get back in the casita, where we could sit at the table, outside, or laid back in the garden watching millions of stars. After one week, my friend and I realised we had to come back to see more... for the lovely casita, the area, the walks, the food, the wine the Gallegos, the culture.
Thank you Pili for taking care of us, and thank you Anna and Roger for the lovely casita on a lovely spot.
We come back. Sylvie and Hilde
