Rowan cottage was a delight to stay in. It contained everything needed for complete comfort and was so beautifully clean it was a joy to arrive to.
Laura was really helpful too and we would definitely recommend a stay there to everyone.
Thanks for letting us stay at your place. It was so clean when we arrived and the place was perfect. Driving up to it was beautiful every day and with the highland cows and sheep right there! We really enjoyed our stay and Laura was a great hostess!
We had a lovely, comfortable and cozy stay at Holly Cottage, with all amenities available. Perfect place to stay, within easy distance from Edinburgh, Oban and St Andrews.
Highly recommend!
A great property in a lovely location, kicked our holiday off in the best possible way. Our host was extremely helpful and pleasant. We will definitely come back as the area has far more to see and we couldn’t pick a better base from which to start.
We had a great week in the cosy Rowan Cottage. It offers plenty of space for a family of four and is very well maintained and equipped. The landlady was always approachable and helpful. We would come back at any time as the location is ideal for trips to Edinburgh or Loch Lomond. Stirling and the surrounding area also has a lot to offer for culture and hiking enthusiasts.
I have used many rental places in my long life. Laura's place is special. Very clean, comfortable, beautifully located, warm, with simple rules. My whole family is delighted. Absolutely recommendable. We will definitely come back. Thx Laura.
The cottage really fit our needs perfectly (even though our kids had to share the room). The ground floor was very spacious, kitchen equipment was good - we missed some basics like oil an vinegar (Salt and Pepper were there, but almost run out). The communication with the landlord was easy and prompt, we really enjoyed our stay there, after a City Trip the right place to relax. We had a bit stress, because as we were leaving early and had to collect all sheets from all beds and towels ... but thats just a small issue compared to the great time we spent.
When looking for accommodations in Scotland, my wife and I were looking for a convenient, centralized location which offered local opportunities for exploring the culture and history of Scotland, but which also could be used as a springboard from which we could venture further afield. Balquharn Holiday Cottages provided the perfect venue for us to do all that, but it also provided a quiet respite for us to recover from our explorations in a country setting, free from the hustle and bustle of residing in the city.
Laura was a wonderful host and was quick to do whatever was in her power to make our stay enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend Balquharn for anyone wishing to find a quiet but centralized location for exploring the best of what Scotland has to offer!
A stunning cottage with beautiful views, the cottage was spotless, spacious and well furnished and equipped for our family of four. Laura was a pleasure to deal with before and during our stay. It’s a great base for visiting the many sites Scotland has to offer. Set in quiet and idyllic surroundings, my little one enjoyed seeing the highland cows and sheep in the mornings. I would definitely use this cottage again and highly recommended this place to anyone.
Laura was absolutely amazing, couldn’t do enough to help with booking and while we visited. This cottage is wonderful, has everything you need inside. Location is beautiful. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back and stay again
Excellent base for exploring historic sites and cycling routes in the area. Cottage is directly on the Alloa loop cycle path and we really enjoyed Stirling castle, Wallace memorial tower and Culross Palace. Also nearby is the Cowden Japanese Garden well worth a visit. Everything thing provided for comfortable self catering stay, but no pubs/restaurants within walking distance. Overall a beautiful and quiet location.
Such a stunning cottage, with beautiful views. The cottage is really spacious and very well equipped, slept 4 adults & 2 kids easily. Laura keeps the place absolutely spotless and is a pleasure to deal with, nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this place 100% and hope to return again soon.
Laura was a delight to rent from. The cottage was clean, spacious, and had a well stocked kitchen. It was a great location to use as a base. We even enjoyed seeing the Coos up close. Highly recommended.
What an absolutely perfect little cottage home. There was plenty of room for our family of five, and the cottage was nicely cleaned and well equipped. The location was definitely icing on the cake! The views were like a scene from a movie. The area is absolutely wonderful and so beautiful in any weather. We loved it in the fog, in the sun, in the rain - just splendid! There are the cutest little paths near the cottage to wander down, with Highland cows and sheep to say hi to. It was my favourite part of every morning and every evening. It's so peaceful and everyone was so friendly - both on and off the farm! We would definitely recommend staying here and are very much hoping to return in the future. We explored a lot of Stirling on this trip, but would love to expand to visit Loch Lomond and then into the cities. We learned that you can take a bus/train into Edinburgh, so we will definitely do that next time! Thank you to Laura and family for such a lovely few days! We really loved your beautiful cottage!
My mother, son & I had a wonderful trip to Scotland. The cottage was a perfect location for doing/seeing many things in different directions. A gorgeous location. A great walking/running/biking trail out front from cottage to start your morning if choose. or just sitting outside on the table enjoying your tea or coffee with the greatest view. The cottage itself was a perfect size. having a kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 bathrooms made our living space time very comfortable. Glad we found it & will definitely stay here again

Sweet Place to Stay near Stirling
We reserved Willow Cottage at the last minute for two nights. Since it was short notice I didn’t have much time to search. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised at our good fortune!
We traveled the UK for three weeks. Willow was by far the most comfortable. Laura does a great job!

Great stay in this beautiful cottage
The cottage is one of the best where we have ever stayed. Wonderful. We have found everything we needed except maybe a coffee machine, for french people, but sincerely, it was so nice that we didn't even miss it. Thank you very much Laura.

Great cottage
The cottage was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. My kids loved seeing the highland cows and sheep. The location is also great. Just a short drive to the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle.
However, there are only beds for 5 people. There are 3 single beds upstair and a double bed downstairs. A 6th person would have to sleep on the couch. As we were only 5 people, it wasn't an issue.
Communication with Laura was easy and she was extremely helpful and friendly during our stay. I highly recommend staying at the cottage during a visit to Stirling.

Gorgeous and quaint cottage in a beautiful setting!
Laura was a wonderful host. Her cottage is immaculate, beautiful and fully stocked with all the amenities you could want or need. Our children absolutely loved being able to walk to see the sheep and highland cows. If you are looking to stay in the highlands or near Stirling Castle, I highly recommend this beautiful cottage!
