About this property

Cozy Island Cottage, centrally located in the Heart of the Village

Cozy Cottage, perfect for couples or small families. Short walk away from the inlet and all the shops and restaurants surrounding. This is a 350 sq ft cottage. This beautiful bungalow is completed with a queen size bed, a pull out couch (full), a full bathroom, a large outside shower, tv, internet, kitchenette with large dorm sized refrigerator and freezer, small kitchen sink, and hot plate with pots and pans. Recently renovated because of Hurricane Dorian, we have also added an outside shower to a list of the amenities, and If you are looking to escape and enjoy the freedom from the hustle and bustle of day to day life, this is your perfect island paradise. Don't forget the dogs! Dogs are allowed for a small additional fee.
Please leave the cottage better than you found it! We do not provide linens, towels, or paper products. This is my personal cottage, so please respect it as if it were your grandmothers :). Check in is at 2pm, Check out is 11am. If you have any specific request don’t hesitate to ask, I promise you I’m a friendly fellow. There are golf carts available at the house one is dedicated for guest use. Information on how rent are in the house.

A Little Piece of Beach Heaven”

Cabin was clean, cute & cozy. Loved the story of how the owners “discovered” Ocracoke thus the aviation decor! Cabin was located within easy walking of restaurants & shops. We were there for the Portsmouth Homecoming so easy walk to ferry dock. Wonderful stay.

This property was all we hoped for! Great location and wonderful deck! The golf cart was an added bonus! The bed was very comfortable and the outside shower was great!! The one small change that might be considered would be a more comfortable sofa in the living area! We hope to be back next year!!!

1st time stay in Ocracoke

Nice and quiet. Plumbing may need some venting, but nice for a couple. I brought my own crockpot and it was great after a day of judging on the beach.

Just what you need

This property was great, just what we needed for a little beach getaway. Kitchen is stocked with everthing you might need. The WiFi was very spotty and one of the TVs did not work. While this isn’t what we were here for, this might be important to someone trying to work remotely. When contacted with questions, the host never responded to me, which was disappointing. I contacted one of the other numbers listed for help, and they said they could not help and that they hoped the host would answer me. There are birds nesting in the roof and it sounds like they are going to bust through the ceiling. Overall, a great place!

Falling apart

This property is very dilapidated. There are a lot of things that are broken inside. The floor is messed up with so many steps up and down. I would not stay here again.

Highly recommended and a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it!! The location and amenities were perfect. Would not change a thing. Our visit was cut short due to the ferry was not running on Thursday (check out day) because of the approaching hurricane . Of course this is not the fault of owners, we were just disappointed we had to leave early. We will be back!

Super cute. Not fancy but certainly affordable. Excellent location. Within walking distance to everything. The only thing missing: a hose to rinse the sand off our vehicle after coming off beach. We'll be back. Love the location. Perfect for a couple or couple with two small kids. The safest destination Ive ever visited. Loved that feeling!

Worked for us!!

Cute little place with what we needed… a place to lay our heads and shower and chill after a Long Beach day. Golf cart was great to Cruze around on (rented) , place was close to everything and was very peaceful. I definitely would come back! The owners little story of how they landed the house was very neat and just to learn a little about them also. Needs a new autograph book to sign though…… we didn’t want to sign over top of anyone. Excellent place!

Great Little Ocracoke cottage!

Took my teenage son for a few days. This small cottage was the perfect place for us. Comfy bed, great porch, easy pullout futon that equals a full size bed, plenty of options on the TVs for the rainy day, and ease of renting a golf cart when we arrived (and cheaper than the local golf cart rental companies). Didn’t mind bringing our own sheets and towels and cleaning up before we left. Vacuum and broom available there, but limited other cleaning supplies. No full kitchen, but large mini fridge, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, keurig, and hot plate with a pot and pan of you wanted to cook. Don’t expect new and perfect, but it was perfect for us, very clean and super convenient all around! Owner was easy to contact when I had questions. Would definitely recommend!

Loved Ocracoke, but...

CONS:Bring your own linens, towels, pillows and you don't find out until after you pay and book. Plus, bring your own paper towels and toilet paper. No stove. Sketchy toaster, hotplate and other appliances are piled up underneath the sink. You are required to clean the unit when you leave, at the scrutiny of the next guests to report to owner. Local dogs were off leash in the area, a problem for ours, yet I loved Noodles. Plumbing issues, toiliet squeals when you flush. Incredibly uncomfortable sofa. The grill you see on line is not the grill on site. Instead, a shabby home-made sheet metal unit, not cleaned. Moldy floor in outdoor shower. Pros: Great airconditioning. Big TV's. Good people watching from the deck. Friendly, convenient on site golf cart rental by Russell, WAY below island prices. Lots of people watching at the trailer park and British Cementary across the street.
