Great stay
We had a great stay in Clachnaben at Woodend of Glassel. We really liked the lodge and found so much do in the local area. The lodge itself was really clean, well appointed and felt nice and spacious for our holiday.

Well located, clean and good value.
This is a lovely lodge, clean and well located for the area. The only downside with a family of four was patchy wifi (something working off the mobile signal rather than a landline might be better).

This was an excellent stay for two couple and two children. Plenty of space and a huge wraparound deck. Very secluded and not overlooked or overlooking neighbours, although the other cabin was close enough to share with other friends or family. There are lots to do in the area with lovely walks, both challenging and easy along the river Dee. The property was spotless with everything you would need. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a wee break. We took the dog and he loved it.
We had a lovely time. Great location for Aberdeen, Deeside and surrounding location. Michael

Lovely stay in a lovely location
Thank you for a lovely stay. 6 of us stayed at the lodge and it worked really well for us. The lodge was spotless and a great base to visit our family across Aberdeenshire. Lots of birds and we even spotted a dear out of the window too. One word of warning, our satnav took us across the Cairn O Mount to get there. This is a very twisty, high mountain road. It would be a beautiful drive if this is your thing, but we found it a bit too much for us in our van so we had to turn around and came via Stonehaven instead. Not a problem at all, just worth knowing if you don't have a head for heights or are travelling in the winter . Thank you to Ursula for a lovely stay, we'd definitely stay again if we are in the area.

About the host
Hosted by Ursula George
Originally from London, we moved to Scotland 30+ years ago - and still feel as if we're on holiday in this beautiful area! With four children we have spent many holidays in the UK and abroad, usually self catering, so we know what you need for a comfortable, happy family holiday!
Why they chose this property
We live very close to the lodges and absolutely love Royal Deeside. Mountains, rivers, castles, wildlife - and a beautiful coastline only 30 minutes drive away - it really has it all! So much to do for adults and children alike - or you can just cosy up in the lodge and relax.
What makes this property unique
The lodges are spacious and comfortable with a covered deck area for eating outside and plenty of space to run around and let off steam. The location is peaceful and rural with cows in the field across the road, yet less than five minutes drive takes you to the charming little town of Banchory with all amenities. We are on hand to advise on things to do, whatever your interest - so just ask!
