The holiday home is located at the end of a dirt path in the Borkeld nature and recreation area—a beautiful region between Holten, Rijssen, and Markelo, right on the border of Sallant and Twente. The house and garden can be secured with a remote-controlled access gate.

The home is fairly new (2017), has a beautiful rustic charm, is fully equipped, and is well-insulated. There is space for several cars next to the house. The spacious living room on the ground floor is surrounded by large windows, offering a clear view of the birds and squirrels in the garden throughout the day. The open kitchen is equipped with, among other things, a combination oven. The ground floor also features a spacious bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom. On the ground floor, there are two more bright bedrooms with views of the garden. One bedroom has a double bed and a sleeper sofa, and the other room has two single beds.

The house is surrounded by a large garden with several patios. There’s a trampoline at the back of the garden—great for kids.

The holiday home is within walking and biking distance of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. This is one of the largest contiguous nature reserves in the Netherlands. The landscape is characterised by forests, heathland, and farmland. There are various hiking and biking trails through the area, such as the Pieterpad.

From the holiday home, you can head in several directions. The Twenhaarsveld outdoor swimming pool is 2.5 km away. Holten, Markelo, Rijssen, Nijverdal, Hengelo, Enschede, Hellendoorn, and Raalte are easily accessible by public transport, car, and bike. The historic Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen are also definitely worth a visit.
