We are six American retirees who live in Panama. We wanted a little getaway so we rented this apartment. It was perfect for six women. And we had room for more if we wanted to.

Taboga stay

The location of the property is excellent. The views are great, the rooms are spacious, this was the perfect place to spend here on the island. Maria, the host, communicated quickly. Highly recommend if your plans bring you to Taboga.

Taboga Experience

This property has plenty of space and is located near town of Taboga. The view was amazing as the property is almost directly on the shoreline. The only reason I am rating four stars is because of a few maintenance issues. I could not get blinds to open, air conditioner dripped. We stayed three nights and enjoyed exploring the island hiking, snorkeling, beach. Restaurants close by 7 and grocery shopping is limited so I recommend bringing groceries on the ferry when you leave Panama City.

Rental had Issues

Booked rental based on photos and location. Upon arriving the rental was not very clean, and photos made the rental appear much nicer than reality. The dishes and utensils needed washing before use due to existing food left on them and the pots and pans had the teflon coating flaking off of them making them unusable. On the second day of the stay the water was out from 11am until almost 5pm, and the third day the water was off from 7am until checkout at 11am. Along with the lack of water, one of the bedrooms had a leak and dripped overnight onto our luggage from a hole in the ceiling partially ruining some of our belongings. I sent a message to the host explaining the lack of water and was told that it was my responsibility to contact someone in the event of a water outage, but was not given any instructions on who to contact before arriving. Trying to resolve our issues with the host resulted in them not taking any responsibility and basically saying the issues were our fault.

Has a tide pool and a great view!

It was easy to find and easy to check in and also to check-out. The manager was very responsive when we messaged her. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 kids, plus extra room if we had had a larger group. There is a full kitchen if you want to cook. We brought some food to the island, as is recommended, and also enjoyed some of the restaurants. Most restaurants close when the last ferry leaves which is at 4:30. There are maybe 1 or 2 that may stay open until 5:30 or 6, but will also close early. So eat early, or bring your own food to cook. We were disappointed that the pool was empty when we arrived amd messaged right away. The pool is a tide pool so it only fills when the tide comes up and empties when the tide is out. That was a bit disappointing especially for the kids. At least the ocean is right there to swim in. Also, when the tide is in, the water is above the pool walls, so bring life jackets for younger kids. For smaller children and being several levels up, it would have been really awesome if there were a safer railing on the balcony. It made us very nervous. It is also very humid so some of the bedrooms were musty smelling and left a scent on our clothes. There is a washing machine to use but no dryer and no clothesline to hang clothes to dry. Also, because of the humidity, clothes really don't dry well. If you want a relaxed island experience with Central American quirks, this is a great place to be! Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
