Grant was accommodating and generally communicative throughout my 55-night stay. He allowed early check-in, arranged temporary cooking appliances during a building gas outage, and eventually hired pest control. The apartment matched the listing, and I appreciated his efforts to fix problems.Unfortunately repeated maintenance issues significantly affected my stay: the stove was unusable for an extended period, shower repairs took the bathroom out of service for a day, and there was a hot water outage across 2 days. Some of these issues were outside Grant's immediate control, but they still impacted the overall experience.During my last 10 days I saw a live mouse running around the living room and kitchen on multiple days. Pest control found droppings and potential entry points, and the droppings remained uncleaned through checkout.These issues also required significant effort from me: coordinating shower repairs with building staff, repeatedly calling pest-control companies, spending hours preparing the apartment for treatment, and working around maintenance visits.The Lower East Side is great for nightlife, restaurants, and activities, but the immediate block was very unpleasant. I experienced many unwanted street interactions and heard gunfire nearby on two occasions.I appreciated Grant's cooperation, but the apartment's condition and immediate surroundings mean I wouldn't stay here again.
