Paul and Benedicte would like to welcome you to Chateau Vary in the heart of the Loire Valley. Chateau Vary first took guests in 1986 in the chateau and cottages. In 1999 the stables were refurbished and 2019 will see the complete refurbishment of the chateau. Chateau Vary has been in the Sauve family for 5 generations and in 2019 Benedicte becomes the latest family member to take over Chateau Vary.Chateau Vary is set in its own grounds of 15 hectares, which is a mixture of garden, lawns, forest and farmland. It provides a unique setting for a stay in the Loire Valley. It has an outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool, access for forest walks, local shops and larger towns nearby, wine tasting route, and bicycle hire in close proximity.Sympathetically renovated in 2020/21 all original features have been retained such as: wooden or tiled floors, ceiling mouldings, and room doors. Complete modernisation has been undertaken with: bedside charging points; wifi internet - with fibre due to arrive; soundproofing of walls and floors; 1100 litres of hot water pumped and stored for silent showers; new insulation throughout with a modernised heating system. It has been elegantly furnished and decorated in a style that enhances the chateau with all rooms having super king size beds, quality pillows, 5* bathroom fittings and a general feel of quality that is rare in buildings 200 years old. All rooms are equipped with the same standard of furniture and fittings, and the price structure is based on room size.We offer a bookable complimentary session in the Jet Spa. Also free use of the heated indoor pool (30C), outdoor pool, 4 bikes, boules court, table tennis, badminton, outdoor chess set.

Why they chose this property
Set in the midst of fairy-tale chateaux country in the Loire Valley. Close to the towns of Angers Saumur and Tours and the major wine producing vineyards of the region. Visits from here include the theme par Puy de Fou as well as day visits to the Normandy beaches, or to Paris within 2 hours. Many of the highlights of the region centre on the Loire river, gently cycling from village to village along the river, visiting the resting place at Fontevraud Abbey of Richard the Lionheart, exploring the troglodyte villages, or visiting the local Zoo. There are more than 20 activities and visits within minutes of Chateau Vary. Visitors often find it difficult to leave the grounds of the chateau with the tranquil setting, the pools and games and numerous activities.

The chateau offers professional catering and the option to eat in the evening and enjoy an excellent wine list. All food is sourced locally with ingredients of the highest quality. We tour the vineyards to build a list of fine wines for our guests to enjoy.
