In addition to the Murcia Region Highway Network and the Mediterranean Highway (A-7), the Mediterranean Motorway (AP-7) is located just a few kilometres from the town centre of Águilas; a major route that runs along the coast from France to Algeciras, consisting of both free phone and toll sections. Águilas is connected to the city of Murcia by commuter train. For medium- to long-distance travel, there is a line connecting Águilas with Madrid, and a high-speed line from Murcia and Cartagena to Madrid and the Valencian Community

The town is divided into two large bays, Levante and Poniente, dominated by the iconic silhouette of the Castle of San Juan de las Águilas. This fortress, now a museum, is open to visitors. From the top, there is a wonderful view of the entire city.
In the centre of the town is the Plaza de España, popularly known as the Glorieta, from which the city’s main thoroughfares branch out.
