Southwestern Adobe Style Home with Extraordinary Mountain Views

Casa del Sol is located on a ridge top with wonderful views of the San Juan Mountains in southern Colorado, just 5 miles from the famous Hot Springs; a great mountain getaway in the summer for hiking, biking, rafting, golf, horseback riding, animal parks and close to National Parks and Indian ruins. Located also just 25 minutes from Wolf Creek Ski Area, the home has 3 bedrooms in the main house, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and sun splashed living-family room with sliders leading to a very large cement patio in back with deer and turkeys visiting! Living Room with skylights with a gas fireplace, a flat screen TV; a smart TV in the master, and free wireless internet. Family room in lower level with a ping pong table, games & puzzles for kids, TV, a full bath, and two of the bedrooms each with a queen bed. A queen sofa bed is available here also. The Main level has the master bedroom with a king bed, and an additional access to the main full bath. The OPTIONAL IN- LAW SUITE available (extra cost $69/nt or $375/wk) consists of a queen bed, kitchenette, dining area and full bath with sliders to the front deck and 30ft balcony overlooking the San Juans! Awesome sunrises and incredible stargazing in this quiet, rural subdivision, but just 5 miles to town. Rear patio with 2 tables with chairs, and chaise lounges with lots of privacy, and a propane gas BBQ in season with all utensils . The San Juan River runs behind in the valley in the rear. Beautiful Views

The house is a short drive outside of Pagosa Springs, but is still very close to town. Our family had plenty of space to sleep and hang out. The views from the house are amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything the we needed. There were plenty of sheets, pillows, and towels. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful mountain house

This is a great vrbo mountain house rental ! Fantastic views, charming house . Close to town yet out among the pines . Plenty of room. Loved the game room. Plenty of bathrooms and nicely decked out kitchen. Excellent !

Beautiful and peaceful

We had a relaxing stay a few miles from Pagosa Springs proper, on a nice little ridge above the San Juan river with beautiful views of mountains to the east. The setting is excellent. That very setting probably explains the poor wifi, but watch out for that. The house is comfortable and lends itself to a stay with friends, as the upstairs and downstairs offer privacy from one another.

WOW! Just what we needed..

The Southwestern Adobe place was just what we needed for a relaxing vacation. It was perfect for our family. IT had plenty of room, was exceptionally clean and maintained, and located where we had plenty of breath-taking views and wildlife viewing. The owner was exceptionally helpful and communication was great. Overall, one of the very best VRBO experiences that we've had.

Absolutely perfect!

This property is so beautiful and absolutely perfect for a family to enjoy Pagosa Springs. It’s was not only in a beautiful location, but super clean and the owner is very friendly and helpful. We were there when it snowed and it was a winter paradise! We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful home just minutes from town

Casa del Sol is a beautiful and clean home. The deer and turkey travel through the yard on most nights. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for all your cooking needs. Lois is very attentive to any questions or concerns you may have with the property. The house is only a short hop into town for supplies or restaurants and the back patio is a lovely place for quiet and perhaps a glass of wine after a long day. We will be back.

Mother's day getaway

We gathered from afar, Wyoming, Montana, Delaware and Colorado. We relaxed, ate, read, drank wine, shopped, and soaked in the hot springs. A good time was had by all. Farewell Pagaosa Springs, you will live in our hearts.

Casa del Sol amazing home.

This home is beautiful the art and the decore of this home is impressive. Perfect size of the home for a big family. You can sit and watch the sunrise and sunset, little to the wind go thru trees. Great place to relax and hike down to the San River. 100 % recommend... Can't wait to book it again.

What a time we had ! Weather was perfect and house was so beautifully decorated. We loved it. The manager was great to work with and very well informed with things to do. The owner was great to communicate with. Wish we could have met her also.

Amazing home

Absolutely loved the home, it was in a beautiful location, with great views. The AC however did not work during our stay so it was hot inside the home. Other than that the home was great for the weekend!

Home in the mountians!

Lois's place feels like a second home. The house was extremely clean and well stocked with the essentials. The decorations match the style of the outside of the house. Very comfortable beds, well stocked beds and wonderful outside space. The veiws from the house was absolutely amazing, such beautiful sunsets. The property managers who are local are so helpful and kind. We intionally planned days to stay and relax in the peaceful neighborhood. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Amazing view

The view of the deer, snow capped mountains, and peaceful secluded hilltop adobe home. There were sled for the kiddos to slide down the snowy hills here at the house. The property manager larry was a world of knowledge for this area gave references to places to have fun for the kiddos and us elders and he was very friendly. The owner was amazing to work with us to arrive much early than schedule time so we could drive through the night with the young ones. And to top it all the mother in law suite, the owner work with us for this add on and was just right for the wife and i, when we retired each night away! I give this a 10 star review. Thank you!!!!

Beautiful Views and Great Patio

We enjoyed our stay and the host was very responsive. The views from the home are beautiful and the home has a wonderful, large patio. The largest downside of the home was the fact that the main floor only has a portable a/c unit. While the portable unit may be fine for most weather, we were in Pagosa Springs during a heat wave and had trouble keeping the home below 85 degrees at points. The home is also at the top of a hill with a gravel road leading to it, so having a car with four-wheel drive would be beneficial.

Proud of Ourselves

It isn’t always possible to select the best place to stay on vaca, but in this case we did. The home, Casa Del Sol, was the best fit for our family. Plenty of gathering space, bedrooms, bathrooms and outside “play” area. The view is beyond spectacular, if possible. The closeness to Pagosa Springs and all of the locations we planned to visit was excellent. Lois, the home owner, answered all of our questions and also gave us ideas for places to check out in the area. Larry, the property manager, was available for any questions we might have. He greeted us when we arrived and helped us guide our truck and trailer onto the property. He shared his map with us as we decided where to four wheel. We feel we made a friend. You will love staying at Casa Del Sol. We highly recommend Lois’s lovely home. J and K Hicks

Great place, but something to consider...

At the beginning of our stay, things were great. Very clean and a beautiful home. I cannot say enough good things about the owner and property manager, they were both very helpful and quick to address the issues we had. This review is not meant to diminish them. That being said, I was very unhappy with the man who claimed to be neighborhood maintenance that let himself into the home while I was there alone. He was very sketchy and did not appear to have anything that would prove himself to be maintenance or housekeeping (Which it turns out to be the housekeepers son). He showed up with a box of latex gloves only and had his own key. He did not knock or announce himself before trying to enter. Like I said, this is at no fault of the owner, she was very helpful in finding out who this man was and apologized profusely. But I do not feel confident that this has not happened to previous visitors, considering that the housekeeper is a neighbor to the home, according to the welcome book. I could not write this review without mentioning this scary situation. It very well could have been a huge misunderstanding, but it seemed to me like he was there for another reason and could have been watching our vehicle the days before that. This was the only downside to our stay. I would just ask that the owner or manager take extra steps of precaution to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
