Cabin was located within walking distance of beach and some restaurants. The living room/kitchen area was very roomy. However, bedrooms were small but beds were comfortable. Loved the heated bathroom floor as we had some cool weather for a few days.
Its a clean comfortable cabin with all the necessary amenities located close to restaurants, stores and numerous activities
Linda and Bill are great host and made us feel very welcome

Jerry and his wife Kathy were wonderful guests. Very friendly, respectful and left the cottage immaculate! We so loved having them stay at our cottage and would love to have them come visit again. Thank you for your kind review.
Great place for two adults with two young kids. Nice layout and vibe. The cabin is conveniently located.
Long Lake is a very compact village that offers plenty to do, with localized amenities, without the crowds and tourist traps of Lake Placid.
Definitely enjoyed our vacation!

So glad your family enjoyed the cottage. I hope you will return. Thank you
Wonderful cabin, wonderful host. Five minute walk to Long Lake. We walked down every morning to soak in the beauty of Long Lake as the day was beginning.
Just right!
My family and I found Pine Bear Cottage to be a perfect location for our adult family of 5. Our host was attentive only if needed. The cabin is lovely and was equipped with everything you need for your stay. It is a short walk to town, Long Lake beach, boat rentals with beautiful hiking trails just a short drive away. It's a great location to stay to explore the beautiful central ADK!

We had a wonderful 19 days in this , spotless, typically Adirondack Cabin. Mrs. Rice could not have been a better host and attended to all our wishes. The cottage was spotless, the decoration very Adirondack and the location perfect for walking to the village of Long Lake. Thank you very much Linda.

We loved having you and your wife stay in the cottage for an extended 17 days. You were both great, very friendly and very neat and clean. Would love to rent to you again! Thank you!
We had 8 wonderful nights at Pine Bear Farmhouse. This 2 bedroom cabin was perfect for our family and Linda and Bill were great hosts - very friendly and helpful. The cabin is clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed including sheets and towels. They even provided some firewood for an outdoor fire in the fire pit. The location is very convenient for walking to everything in the town of Long Lake including the main beach, grocery store, shops, restaurants, and ice cream. We highly recommend this property and our lovely hosts.

The positives: comfortable mattresses, well equipped kitchen that is quite spacious ( a rare commodity!) very clean kitchen and bathroom.Friendly hosts who live nearby. And most of all, a fantastic location- quick access to Long Lake activities, but also a great jumping off point for mountain hiking and other outdoor pursuits.
The bedrooms are on the small side.We had to clean off dust and cobwebs from some surfaces, particularly windowsills in the bedrooms, which we need to set down our eyeglasses and other essentials when we go to bed.
What a great relaxing time. Had some amazing campfires at night with beautiful start nights above then when it rained we had a few fabulous cozy days and evenings inside by the gas fireplace. Linda was very welcoming and everything was in order and very clean. Lots of dishes and utensils even wine glasses and a cork screw, thank goodness as I forgot mine. The furniture and beds were very comfy. The bedrooms are small but very well decorated and perfect for us. Great location!!! Walked to marina and rented a boat for a day. It was a well needed getaway.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was great with a short walk across the bridge into the part of town where the beach is. We only had to walk down the property driveway for a perfect view of July 4th fireworks.
The cabin was very roomy in the main area with the kitchen and living room space, and although the bedrooms were a tad small, they did have queen size beds. The front porch area was big and a great area for relaxing with a book or a beer. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you’d need. We did have some issues with the WiFi, but cell service seemed to be good at the cabin. The bathroom was bright and clean. All in all, a very tidy, well kept property in a great location!

Great Cottage But ...
The cottage is great, clean and comfy. No problem there. However, the kayaks advertised had been sold and were no longer available. The "view of the lake" is a bit disingenuous as it is very minimal through the trees. The Wi-Fi was totally unsecured. Linda came to the cottage the first few days to talk about it but we never heard anymore about the problem being addressed. Seeing her response to another review, it was an ongoing problem, claiming to another earlier renter that it had been fixed. No one wants to use an unsecured Wifi. The ice maker quit the second day there and we were told we could buy ice in town. I understand things can happen, but some communication about fixing the issues or just letting us know that maybe that couldn't get a repair person immediately. Communication would have been helpful.

I am so very sorry about the Wifi. No one else has ever said a word about it. I checked in to it and could not come up with a solution. The ice maker was beyond my control. I also told you I would be happy to bring you up a bag of ice from my house. You are my first negative review, so am feeling sad about it. Please know you have my deepest apologies for anything you were not happy with.
We enjoyed the fire pit, the bbq grill and the kitchen. The cottage has a rustic feel and is just steps from Long Lake and the businesses there. Not a cold weather cabin but there is a heater.
The cabin was cosy and wonderfully decorated to reflect an Adirondack stay, with lots of little touches everywhere you looked. The kitchen was impressively stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook there. Enjoyed the games, my teenager was especially happy with the chess set. Lots of room, cosy and comfortable, and well furnished. The hosts were friendly and shared some cherry tomatoes out of their garden. A really nice place to stay with a great location.

About the host
Hosted by Linda Rice
I have rich family history here, as my great, great, great grandfather was the third settler here in Long Lake. I am grateful for the connection and love that I feel for this dear place, that I get to call "home". It is a very special place, Long Lake. Once you visit you will undoubtedly be hooked as well. It is so beautiful, you immediately fall in love with your surroundings.
Why they chose this property
I have loved Long Lake since childhood, as my family would come up here every Summer to visit my grandfather and relatives. This house was the last family owned house on our family named Rd, which I purchased from my Aunt in 2012. The property is ideal, as it boasts comfort and privacy and yet is only a 2 min walk to the town beach, stores and restaurants. The views of the lakes and mountains are spectacular!
What makes this property unique
The cottage is very quaint, with an Adirondack decor and charm that is sure to delight your senses. There is privacy with a view and yet we are only a 2 min walk to the town beach and boating. Come breathe in the fresh mountain air!
