Villalago is also known as “the village among the lakes.” At the foot of the village lies Lake San Domenico, a true gem set in the Sagittario Valley, and Lake Pio, a small body of water where you’ll easily come across the local wildlife—just be careful not to disturb them and keep a safe distance! Shared with Scanno, Lake Scanno lies halfway between these two magnificent towns; it’s famous for its heart-shaped outline, visible from the overlook accessible via the “Sentiero del Cuore” (Path of the Heart).
