Cottages (3) at Lough Sillan House: exclusive use, dog-friendly, hot tub & sauna
Bring everyone together at Lough Sillan House with an exclusive stay across all three cottages, set around a secluded courtyard in a peaceful lakeside setting in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.
Sleeping 6–8 adults, it works beautifully for three couples, close friends, adult family groups, reunions, special celebrations or simply a few days away with people you love spending time with. You have the freedom to be together without having to be together every minute: three individual cottages give everyone their own space and privacy, while the courtyard, gardens, lake, spa and outdoor kitchen create wonderful shared spaces.
When you book all three cottages, the experience is part of the stay. Your group has exclusive use of Lough Sillan Lakeside Spa during spa opening times, including the hot tub, sauna, relaxation room, hot shower and direct access to the lake for a cold dip.
The three cottages – Copper Cove, Linden Lodge and Little Gem – are beautifully restored 200-year-old buildings, each with its own character.
Copper Cove is a cosy retreat for two, with original stonework and a wood-burning stove. Linden Lodge, once a stable, offers a more spacious open-plan layout sleeping 2–4. Little Gem is an intimate stone cottage for two, with coloured leaded glass from 200-year-old panes helping to shape its distinctive interior.
Together they offer the unusual combination of a group getaway with genuine personal space.
Outside, 9.5 acres of gardens, woodland and lakeshore are yours to explore. You can kayak or paddleboard on Lough Sillan, swim, wander through the gardens, find a quiet place for a picnic or simply sit by the water and enjoy the view.
The covered outdoor kitchen, housed within the original forge building, becomes the natural gathering place for a group stay. There is space to cook, eat, sit and spend time together, with a BBQ and pizza oven making relaxed meals easy. It works just as well for morning coffee as it does for a long dinner or evening drinks.
One price. No surprise extras.
We want groups to be able to settle in and enjoy their stay rather than discover a series of additional charges.
Your stay includes:
Exclusive use of the lakeside spa during spa opening times Hot tub, sauna and relaxation room Kayaks and paddleboards Access to the gardens, woodland and lakeshore Outdoor kitchen, BBQ and pizza oven BBQ gas and pizza-oven pellets Unlimited firewood Breakfast provisions in each cottage A bottle of Prosecco – or Nosecco if preferred – in each cottage Tea, coffee, drinks and treats Towels, robes and toiletries Dog treats and poo bags for four-legged guests
It’s all included in the price of your stay.
Dogs are welcome when all three cottages are booked together.
We personally welcome guests to Lough Sillan House and show you around the cottages, gardens and spa when you arrive. We live on the property and are nearby if you need anything, while giving your group the privacy and freedom to enjoy the place as your own.
Despite feeling wonderfully secluded, Lough Sillan House is easy to reach and is approximately an hour from both Dublin and Belfast. Shops, cafés and everyday essentials are within 10–15 minutes, and several excellent golf courses are nearby.
For groups, two nights works especially well. One evening disappears remarkably quickly once everyone has arrived, settled into their cottages, enjoyed the spa and shared a meal. A second night gives you time to kayak, explore the gardens, cook together, enjoy the lake and still have plenty of time to do very little at all.
That is really what an exclusive stay at Lough Sillan House is about: time together, room to breathe and nowhere else you need to be.
I think this is materially stronger than the current version because the commercial proposition becomes obvious in the first few paragraphs, rather than the guest having to read nearly to the bottom before discovering all the things that come with the cottages.

About the host
Hosted by David Brennan
We are Sabina and David, and we feel incredibly fortunate to call Lough Sillan House home. Since moving here, we have lovingly restored the old stone cottages and created a peaceful place where guests can slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the lake, gardens and spa.
We did much of the restoration work ourselves, and each cottage has been designed with its own character while still feeling part of Lough Sillan House.
We also like to host personally. We welcome guests when they arrive, show them around the cottages, gardens and spa, and are nearby if they need anything during their stay — while giving groups the privacy and freedom to enjoy the place as their own.
Why they chose this property
We chose this area because of its extraordinary natural beauty and sense of calm. Lough Sillan House sits on the shores of Lough Sillan, surrounded by 9.5 acres of gardens, woodland and lakeshore, yet it remains within easy reach of both Dublin and Belfast.
It offers a rare combination: a genuinely peaceful lakeside setting where you can feel completely tucked away, without having to travel to the far reaches of the country.
Guests can walk through the gardens and woodland, swim or kayak on the lake, watch the sunset from the spa, cook outdoors or simply sit together and enjoy the view. It is a place that lends itself naturally to slowing down and spending proper time together.
What makes this property unique
Copper Cove, Linden Lodge and Little Gem are three individually restored 200-year-old cottages set around the same secluded courtyard. Together they sleep 6–8 adults, so a group can spend time together while everyone still has their own cottage, bathroom and personal space.
When all three are booked together, your group also enjoys exclusive use of Lough Sillan Lakeside Spa during spa opening times, including the hot tub, sauna, relaxation room and direct lake access.
The shared spaces are a large part of the experience. There is a covered outdoor kitchen in the original forge building, BBQ and pizza oven, gardens and woodland to explore, and kayaks and paddleboards for the lake.
One price, no surprise extras. Spa use, lake activities, breakfast provisions, Prosecco or Nosecco, tea, coffee and treats, robes, towels and toiletries, firewood, BBQ gas and pizza-oven pellets are included in the stay.
It works particularly well for three couples, close friends, adult family groups, reunions and special celebrations — groups who want to spend time together without sacrificing comfort or privacy.
And for groups, two nights really does make a difference. One evening disappears very quickly once everyone has arrived, settled in, enjoyed the spa and shared a meal. A second night gives you time to enjoy the lake, gardens and outdoor cooking as well as simply relax.
Above all, it feels more like having your own small private lakeside retreat than booking three separate holiday cottages.
