The room is a cellar/ basement with no windows and smells very moldy. It may be okay for a couple of days but I would avoid for longer stays if you don’t want prolonged exposure to mold. It was otherwise a good stay as the host was very responsive, good location and spacious room. It’s a shame about the mold smell but there is probably not much they can do about that given it’s underground.

Regarding the bad odor you reported, it likely refers to the adjacent room undergoing renovation, as our studio apartment, in addition to having constant internal ventilation, is insulated both on the floor and the walls. In fact, other guests have stayed there for much longer periods than yours without any problems.
