Once again, we stayed at Quinta Silva Melo, this time in a different apartment than before, but we enjoyed our stay just as much. What you get here is peace, privacy, a clean and well-equipped house, and parking on a gated property, all conveniently located for exploring the island. What we enjoyed most was grilling our own catch in the evenings on the proper BBQ, with firewood supplied. We find this much more relaxing and a great way to spend time together as a family than sitting in noisy restaurants waiting for food. Restaurants are nice from time to time, of course, but not necessarily on a daily basis during a longer holiday. There was one thing we didn't like: the beds were very hard. It would be great if they could be supplemented with mattress toppers.Would I choose this place again if returning to São Miguel? Definitely yes!
