The perfect base for a Cotswolds getaway…

The property is spacious and comfortable, and provided ample space for 4 adults and a dog. It was exceptionally well-equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location could not be better—it's incredibly close to the beautiful, historic St. Mary’s Church and the local pubs are a very short walk away. The Oak is a must for a good pint. It was the ideal location to enable us to walk locally and explore further afield jumping on the bus to Stroud.

A lovely long weekend

Whitehall Cottages is in a superb location with easy access parking. Fantastic views from all the bedrooms and from the patio terrace. Lots of space with a choice of living areas and superbly equipped kitchen and utility. Plenty of bathrooms, including a surprise one! The only thing that would improve the experience is more thorough cleaning and some attention to the garden. Thank you for a lovely long weekend.

Whitehall Cottage is spacious and had everything we needed for our weekend break

The children especially enjoyed the selection of games in the cottage. Painswick is a very pretty village and the surrounding area is beautiful. We enjoyed visiting Stroud and Nailsworth. 10 year old’s review - It was nice and posh and it had a very nice kitchen. It is in a really lovely area and was just a step away from the outdoors. There was a big mill pond we found on a walk around the local area. The garden was really nice and the swing seat was cool. My 8 month old cousin Lucas liked the stringy chairs near the kitchen. Make sure you visit the church and church yard.

Lovely spacious quirky cottage in an excellent location!

Cottage is large, with three large bedrooms and one smaller one, but all sleep 2 people comfortably. The small room does not have twin divan beds, they are 'chaise' type beds, more suitable for smaller people. Kitchen was huge, very well equipped, and the 4 toilets were very useful. Lounge was comfy, garden was pretty and with a fab view. Check-in/out was easy. Parking across a small road from the cottage was very easy to locate, free for 23 hours and the added bonus was the 4 electric charge points. Only gripe was the curtains and tracks in the bedrooms are not wide enough for privacy from the outside - you pulled one way and the other side was then not covered. Just a small thing for the owner to address! Otherwise, it was located perfectly for access to the Cotswolds, Painswick was very picturesque, Stroud market on Saturday morning was brilliant.

Painswick stay

We booked this accommodation while walking the Cotswold Way. Downstairs space was good and we were able to combine a couple of tables to sit 8 of us together. Upstairs all rooms had views out the back. A little more furniture in the main bedroom would be good. We had a couple of issues but these were responded to and satisfactorily resolved within a couple of days.

A lovely stay!

The cottage is in a gorgeous village, and in a lovely setting. It was well laid out and perfect for our two families to enjoy time together. 4 adults, two 5 year olds and two 2 year olds. We had to watch the kids in the rooms with the hearths being stone and things but it was a lovely house. We appreciated the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs to stop them going up on their own. The kitchen had just about everything you needed!! (Just a few more large tumbler glasses and a colander would be useful additions). We finally found the microwave in the top part of the oven! The village boasts a lovely coffee shop called Juniper - well worth a visit! The local Premier shop - avoid it! Awful! We were told to park in stamages road car park but unsure if we will get any fines for being there over the 23 hours - hoping not! The only tiny niggle was that there was no window covering for the skylight in the top floor bedroom, and that the curtains in the twin bedroom on 1st floor did not meet in the middle so had to hang a blanket up and tape paper to the skylight window. Not ideal with children especially. Would highly recommend though - the beds were also incredibly comfy!
