About this property

Wooden house with wild garden by Sejerø Bay

Welcome to a charming wooden house where nature and coziness go hand in hand. Here you can experience an authentic cottage with a distinctive character, where wood paneling both inside and out creates a warm atmosphere, and where the windows invite nature inside.

The home’s interior features a cozy kitchen connected to the living room, where a wood-burning stove spreads warmth on chilly days. Here, you’ll truly experience the simple and authentic cottage life. The kitchen has been intentionally kept simple, with small, creative solutions instead of a traditional stove. Here you’ll find two induction burners, one gas burner, a mini-oven, and an air fryer for indoor meals—and if you step out onto the large wooden terrace, both a gas grill and a real pizza oven await. It’s the perfect, casual setting for your vacation meals.

The house retains its original, older style with a soulful atmosphere reminiscent of a classic garden cottage. Here, the focus is fully on the experience and less on modern luxury. The bathroom is—in keeping with the house’s age—very small and functional, with the shower and toilet sharing just a few square meters. The hot water tank holds enough water for a couple of quick rinses at a time, before you might head out to the outdoor shower in the garden. All in all, the house is a sanctuary with quirky, old-fashioned solutions that invite you to unplug from everyday conveniences and simply enjoy nature.

The large wooden terrace is the house’s natural gathering spot, featuring a dining table, a gas grill, and a real pizza oven. Here you’ll also find a cozy Mexican clay oven to keep you warm on summer evenings. The garden has been intentionally left wild, with mowed paths leading you between the berry bushes and to the atmospheric fire pit.

From the house, it’s a short walk to the swimming pier at Sejerø Bay, where you can soak up the sun on the grassy area. Go exploring in the nearby butterfly forest, visit Kalundborg’s charming town center with its local brewery, or discover Røsnæs’s beautiful nature and hiking trails.

Florahus can accommodate a total of 6 people, distributed as follows:

2 people can sleep in a comfortable, firm double bed in the bedroom, where you can close the door and have privacy.

2 people can sleep on the open loft, on comfortable spring mattresses placed on the floor—the mattresses can be used as single beds or placed side by side to form a double bed. If you plan to sleep on the loft, you’ll need to be comfortable climbing up and down a ladder.

Two people can sleep on daybeds (as soft as a good foam mattress) in the living room, which shares the space with the loft.

Hot Tub

Florahus has an inflatable hot tub, which can be used for an additional fee.

The hot tub can accommodate up to 6 people and is lovely both with and without the bubbles turned on.

It is located on the terrace so that (on a clear night) you can enjoy both the stars and the moon as darkness falls.

It is not uncommon to be able to see the Milky Way with the naked eye if you keep the lights in the house off.

If you wish to use the hot tub, there is an additional charge of 1,000 DKK per stay.

This is because there is some extra work involved in setting it up, cleaning it after use, and covering the water and electricity costs for heating.

Please arrange this directly with me (the landlord) if you wish to take advantage of this offer—just send me a message (well in advance).

The additional payment must also be sent directly to me (as agreed upon via Landfolk).
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.
