About this property

Historic farmhouse with sea views over Sejerø Bay

On a hilly plot with breathtaking views of Sejerø Bay, you will find this charming farmhouse from 1847. Here you can enjoy the peace and seclusion on the edge of a summer cottage area, where nature and history meet in perfect harmony.

The 165 m² house offers plenty of space to be together and apart. The original details have been preserved with respect for the history of the house, and although the ceilings are low, this creates a special intimate atmosphere. The well-appointed kitchen invites you to cook together, while the living room is perfect for cozying up and relaxing.

Two large terraces provide the setting for unforgettable dinners under the open sky, and the cozy front garden offers shelter even on windy days. In the garden, you will also find a vegetable garden with herbs and flowers, as well as a fire pit where you can make popcorn while enjoying the view of the bay.

The house is just a short distance from the area's many natural gems. Go hiking in Disbjerg, visit the Vejrhøj vineyard, or explore the beautiful 'bounty beach' at Ordrup Næs. Den Blå Ged tempts you with homemade ice cream, and Dragsholm Castle offers gastronomic experiences in historic surroundings.

We had a wonderful time at the vacation home. The view of Sejerø Bay, in particular, is absolutely breathtaking. Our kids loved the large yard with plenty of hiding spots and room for hours of play, and the house is cozily furnished and clearly designed with families in mind, with plenty of board games and toys on the first floor. Our only real reservation was the bathroom. It had the kind of patina that can’t quite be romanticized and would probably benefit from a loving renovation. The same goes for the cleaning in general. It’s not the house’s strongest suit, and there’s a bit of dust and a few dust mites here and there. On the other hand, the house is full of soul and character.

It was a gorgeous piece of land with two large decks, one with an enormous grill, with a view of an incredibly well kept garden, and the ocean. There were deer that came to eat the apples from the apple trees on the property, and blackberry bushes not too far from the house as well. We were able to use the grill on the day we had fantastic weather, and we used the wood stove in the living room on the day we had chilly rainstorm weather. Every inch of the house is charming and quaint, from a poetry collection in the bathroom, to a wall of flavored schnapps in the kitchen. The basic kitchen spices are well stocked! The only warning is that some door ways are very low hanging- so tall people beware. For our relaxed bachelorette weekend, it was simply perfect. There are beaches and walking routes in the area, as well as some stands for purchasing homemade goods, where we found some delicious black currant schnapps to enjoy in the most precious shot glasses that were available at the house
