Panoramic views are abundant from the open great room with vaulted aspen ceilings, custom granite kitchen, knotty alder cabinets, hand hewn log queen bed, queen sofa bed, spacious ceramic tiled bathroom with double sinks, heated towel rack and private toilet room. Situated on a secluded ten acre wooded lot near Somers, Montana (6 miles south of Kalispell and less than one hour from Glacier National Park). Relax outside the chalet on the deck with the most expansive views imaginable surrounded by the quiet forest and wildlife. Overlooking Flathead Lake and Swan and Mission Mountains you really are at the top of the world! This property is truly one of a kind with its million dollar views.

In addition, available for rental is a "Glamping" option in the new, custom designed western barn which features a beautiful one bedroom loft with incredible views, for a "real" Montana experience. It is rustic but elegant and makes it possible to "sleep under the stars" Montana style!

Custom kitchen with top of the line stainless appliances: stove/oven, Fisher Paykel dishwasher, Summit refrigerator with ice maker and freezer and wine storage. Italian granite countertops and large island with barstools.
Redwood walk out deck with glass panels for al fresco dining offering best views of Flathead lake and Mission mountains.

The great room with exposed beams, cathedral ceiling, and large picture windows offers unparalleled views in all directions. The chalet/garage overlooks approximately 8 acres of forested land. A custom built barn is also situated approximately 150 feet away. The owners are competitive reiners so their horses are in training during the summer months and not on the property.

Amazing Home

My family and I were on vacation and were blown away by the views from Achewa! The house is amazing, very comfortable, and super clean. We were close to everything we were interested in doing. Jane was great to work with and was always available to answer questions and provide information on fun activities in the area. We would definitely rent here again on our next visit.

Magical Place

Achewa was a magical place to enjoy a true Montana experience. Ideal location with a million dollar view close to Flathead Lake access, Glacier National Park, Zipline, Horseback riding, and Whitewater rafting. If you are choosing a non-air conditioned summer property, you will not find a more luxurious vacation rental. This immaculate mountain retreat had all the comforts and ample space for our family. We were blown away every evening enjoying the sunsets from the hot tub.

Breathtaking View

This rental is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. Words cannot describe the beautiful view over Flathead Lake, it was hard to leave. The chalet is immaculate with nothing but state of the art appliances including a towel warmer, with fine wood trim and tasteful decor. Jane and Dennis were warm, welcoming and informative throughout our stay with great advice on everything from hiking to dining. Highly recommend!!

Flathead Lake Chalet

Jane and Dennis were great hosts and Cindy the property manager gave us wonderful day trip ideas and restaurant picks to check out during our stay! The large one room chalet was great! Private, clean, homey with a great bathroom and kitchenette and a stacked washer and dryer in the garage downstairs. We had our own parking spot next to the stairs leading up to the room. Lots of windows and a small attached deck overlooking Flathead Lake and surrounding mountains with great star gazing at night. The deck chairs weren't very comfortable so we opened the French door to enjoy the breeze and view. A beautiful ceiling fan and central air helped with the hot days. My only concerns were there wasn't a grab bar in the large shower or a good place for soap and shampoo. Also there was only one queen bed and a pull out couch that we couldn't open because of the heavy trunk in front of it. It was a great place to relax and recharge after our days adventures!

Wonderful Stay!!

When we pulled up to our vacation rental for the week, I couldn’t believe we hit the jackpot our first stay in Montana! My fiancé has been wanting to move to Montana most of his life and I can now say, I’m joining him in this want! The hospitality was like no other and that’s not even considering the amazing adventures and views we got to experience. Everything was so clean and perfect! We felt so comfortable and welcomed too. Jane and Dennis have truly created something so special here by the gorgeous Flathead lake! They recommended the most perfect places and we had some of the funnest stories to tell when we came back. To know there are people who offer their own custom cabin studio as a vrbo that is this perfect, really made us feel like they did this for more than just the income. They truly care about their guests and make the experience enjoyable for everyone! Cassidy and Sunny were so cute and fun to meet and with such sweet personalities. We really set the bar so high for ourselves with out first vacation to Montana and we wouldn’t have it any other way! We really can’t wait to come back! If you have any doubt about this property, you’d be making a mistake. We were so thankful for everything!

The best of the Flathead Valley at your fingertips

This gorgeous custom loft located on the Achewa property overlooks the northern side of the Flathead lake (pictures cannot do the views day or night justice). Within minutes you can be swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing etc in the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi or hiking in the Swan Mountain range. There is a grocery store within 15 minutes in Kalispell, MT and great restaurants within 15-20 minutes in Big Fork, MT (Make reservations in the summer!). The west entrance of Glacier National Park is about 45-50 minutes from the loft but about 3 hours if you drive to further point in the park (along Going-to-Sun Road) to Many Glacier. Despite the drive to the park, the amenities and privacy of this loft, made the drive much more palatable to staying inside the very busy park. This loft is not for individuals uninterested in caring for this property during your stay, as if it were your own. However, it is perfect for those looking for a quiet, down to earth place to stay and live among some of the nicest individuals I have ever met. The loft does have a fully stocked kitchen with nearly every small and large appliance. Off of the garage under the loft, there is a washer and dryer for use, as well. On the property, you will also find the owners' home and a horse barn with a section rented for "glamping." One last note, it was quickly evident that the area was experiencing a drought and very warm temperatures during our stay. Check the weather or talk to the owners for a more updated weather report to best pack for your trip (the owners were super helpful when planning for our trip). We recommend lots of sunscreen and hats during outdoor adventures. The windows in the loft open and it cooled quickly overnight. There is also an air conditioner but we used it rarely opting for fans to save energy.

Amazing place, beautiful view to wake up to every morning and say goodnight to at the end of each day! Dennis and Jane are so very attentive and passionate about sharing their place. And so thoughtful! Achewa has everything you could need and is a great escape!

Amazing view!

We enjoyed everything about our stay at this property. It was beautifully decorated and the view was one of the best we have ever experienced. Jane and Dennis were incredibly gracious hosts with lots of good information on the area. It was very clean and well stocked. While there we had easy trips to Glacier National Park and Kalispell. Exploring the communities around Flathead Lake was the highlight. So much to do....we will be back!

Amazing view! Great location! Friendly hosts!

My husband and I had it on our bucket list to visit Montana. Achewa felt like a home away from home for us and was the perfect place to enjoy the stunning views of Montana mountains and Flathead Lake! The location is perfect...so close to Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Kalispell, and of course Flathead Lake! We spent time boating on the lake, hiking in Glacier. shopping and eating in Whitefish. Coming home every evening and waking up every morning at Achewa was another favorite part of our vacation. The view!! We will miss that view! We decided to sleep in a couple mornings and just enjoy the place. The full kitchen allowed us to cook and eat in a little bit when we wanted to relax which was great. It was so clean, the hosts have thought of everything offering bear spray, hiking sticks, laundry services, hot tub, etc. The hosts are wonderful people who were so friendly and welcoming to us. We will be back to Achewa! Thankful that this mountain and view was shared with us by the gracious owners!

Achewa chalet

This studio with a great view of Flathead lake, was perfectly appointed and very comfortable. While it was a little off the beaten path, it was near biking, kayaking and hiking. It was a short drive to Kalispell. It was a comfortable drive to Glacier National Park. Dennis and Jane bent over backward to insure everything was perfect. This was the best rental we have stayed

Piece of Heaven

We were so lucky to find Jane and Dennis's beautiful chalet! After searching for a home base for our first visit to Montana and Glacier National Park, we couldnt have picked a better, not crowded location to take in the beautiful landscape. The view of waking up to the morning sun looking across beautiful Flathead Lake and mountain range will forever be in or memories. Upon meeting Jane and Dennis, they immediately made us feel welcomed and we enjoyed meeting their beautiful Australian Shepherds and horse, Sly. Everything was top of the line from the furnishings to the craftmanship of the chalet and barn. Talking with them gave us so much insight to living in Montana amd has made us think about our future and retirement in Montana. We really appreciated their tips and suggestions! For our week there, we visited the park everyday except for a day of rest after hiking the Grinnel Glacier Trail in the Many Glacier region on the east side of the park. We maximized our days by doing our research of the park and area before arriving and loved returning back to the chalet as it just felt like a real home and not another hotel. You definitely need an all wheel drive for the gravel roads there (when not on the main roads) as well as in the remote parts of GNP. It was a wonderful trip and staying in such a beautiful place made it that much more special! Thank you again Jane and Dennis!

Amazing lake and mountain vista

We loved it! Felt like we were on a ship, but we were above some of the clouds! The view is spectacular. Saw the moon rise while reading in bed - so peaceful. Then sunrise from the balcony. Jane and Dennis are beyond hospitable. Loved getting to meet Sly (one of their horses) and Jane has helped me get over my fear of riding. A truly unique vacation experience!

We would highly recommend this VRBO. Beautiful views and good location to Glacier, Flathead lake and general surrounds. Very nicely finished and quiet with magnificent views overlooking flathead lake. Outdoor balcony, washer and dryer, and full kitchen-great amenities. Beautiful and peaceful retreat!!

My husband and I spent a week at this beautiful property and had a wonderful time. The chalet is gorgeous with beautiful décor and furnishings as well as a full-stocked kitchen. It was so comfortable, we didn't want to leave. The surroundings were also beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings. And the owners, Jane and Dennis, were so nice and sweet. They both took time to educate us about their wonderful horses, and we were even able to watch them practice for their reining competition. They just could not have been any nicer. We will definitely return for another visit, and I highly recommend a stay at their wonderful property -- you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing!

My husband and I stayed the last week of July. We came to Montana for peace, quiet, and to recharge. Achewa is the place! The chalet was gorgeous and brought the peace and tranquility we needed from the beautiful home, breathtaking views & the surrounding nature. Jane & Dennis not only provided a warm and comfortable home, they are kind, generous & made it hard for us to leave. If I could give this stay 10 stars I would. We are returning next year. Our experience was excellent in every way. Jane and Dennis made us feel like family. The studio chalet was perfect, so roomy and comfortable. The kitchen was fantastic with all the supplies you need. The lake view was gorgeous. This is the first place we have stayed that we couldn’t wait to come back to everyday. This chalet is second to none. This is a beautifully finished space with an incredible view of Flathead Lake. Peaceful slice of heaven!

I've spent years visiting the Flathead Valley, and this last trip was the most memorable mainly in part to the incredible place we stayed. My boyfriend and I were here for a week at the Achewa studio and we already can't wait to plan our next visit back. Jane and Dennis were awesome hosts and gave us tons of guidance on where to hike and when, what to do in town and where to eat. The studio is very private and has everything you need to just hang out, make dinner and enjoy the views from the deck. They even stock the kitchen with wine in case you run out : ) The lake is a few miles away w/ kayak & paddle board rentals at the bottom of the hill. Somers Bay Cafe is also a really cute spot for brunch. If you are looking for that special vacation, this is the place to stay!

Amazing Home on Flathead!!!

We had an amazing stay at Achewa!!! Jane was wonderful to work with and was very helpful planning our trip. Everything was well stock including a beautiful kitchen with anything one would need. The home was immaculate and we enjoyed all the art and details in each room. The views from the deck were incredible and in the evening the stars were fabulous!!! There is so much to do from hiking in Glacier and Jewel Basin to horseback riding, rafting, and fishing for trout in Flathead. We enjoyed many of the local restaurants and shopping was close by. Would recommend this home to relax and restore your spirit !
