Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia National Park, Winter Harbor Maine

The guest house is situated between the entrance and exit of the 10 mile Schoodic Loop (Acadia). The location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with hiking, biking and kayaking very close by. The beautiful Villages of Prospect Harbor, Corea, Birch Harbor and Winter Harbor are a short drive or bike ride away.

Two Queens, just right for two couples or a family of four. Kitchenette, fully stocked, dining area, and comfortable living room space to rest and relax.

An outdoor grill, clothesline and seating in the garden available. One grocery store and a great Pub (Pickled Wrinkle) within walking distance and another market just over a mile away for provisions. Several restaurants nearby as well.

I can’t read so I didn’t realize this isn’t actually overlooking any water, but this is still a great location! It’s only about 10 minutes from Schoodic Point and about an hour from Bar Harbor. House was clean and comfortable.

This is a cute little house in a quiet, relaxing area. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette was perfect for pancakes. Wifi was sketchy. There are some close cute little restaurants in the area. You do have to drive quite a bit to find activities and a beach. Overall it's a nice, relaxing place to stay.

Stay was good overall. Recommend providing more towels. We were there for three nights and were provided only one bath towel per person. Also recommend better window covers that cover the entire windows, including the door that had no cover at all.

Great location. Seconds away from the beautiful Schoodic Peninusla, and an easy drive to Mount Desert Island. Great local info on places to visit and eat. Cute little property with very comfortable rooms.

Ideal location, very easy access to multiple trails and hikes. Would definitely recommend, home is clean and exactly as advertised. Plenty of parking and located in a nice quiet part of town.

Overall,we really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that it was a guest house so if you want a more private space, this may not work. We loved the proximity to the park, You cant get much closer & we spent a lot of our time there "hiking". We did drive to Bar Harbor three times, so that became a bit tedious BUT we knew that before booking and we still chose to stay in Winter Harbor for a quieter experience. Taking the ferry once would have helped but the departure times just didn't work for our schedule. We tried the following during our stay: Treehouse Seaside Grill for my birthday dinner. It was a 3.5 out of 5 for us to be honest. Our service was not great and for the price we were pretty underwhelmed. The drinks were some of the worst we have had. JM Gerrish for breakfast was great so we ate there twice. Downeaster was really good but very busy when we were there... It took about 40 minutes to place our order and get our breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Worth it though..just have a little patience if you go there.We got ice cream at Ben and Me's twice...loved their chocolate banana shake!! We tried to go back our last night there but they closed an hour early so we missed it.We also ate at Bunkers for dinner one night and it was decent. Our service was not great, but our food was good. Tracey's Seafood was a great spot for lobster rolls ..25 for two with chips. Most things close by 7 or 8 PM. Overall, great rental!

This little hidden gem, about 45 minutes from Acadia's amazing sights and about the same distance from Bar Harbor, is pretty close to perfection. Overall, the guesthouse has everything needed to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The property is in very good condition and the owner has equipped it with all the basics one needs to make breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The property is SPOTLESSLY clean. The cook surface, the fridge, the window ledge...I dare you to find a crumb out of place or a speck of dust! There are plenty of towels, extra blankets, and pillows. If you're traveling with children, you may want to bring toys, books, and bikes. There's a TV --but it's connected to the internet, which offers unpredictable connectivity. The beds are comfortable but they ARE NOT queen-sized. The beds are full-sized. This is the only downfall that I found with property and the accuracy of the property listing. If you and your partner snuggle, then you'll be able to overcome the inaccuracy.

Great stay in Winter Harbor!

This was a great property for our family’s summer vacation to visit Acadia National Park. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were very responsive and provided lots of great info about exploring the area. We would definitely book this home again if we’re able to visit again in the future!

Perfect Home Base on Schoodic Peninsula

This cheerful, comfortable, clean cottage was a great home base for our Acadia trip. It’s easy to get to Bar Harbor by car or ferry, but we found the Schoodic part of the park to be beautiful and much less crowded/touristy than Desert Island.

Lovely

We had a such a memorable time in Maine. Staying in Jill’s guest house was perfect. The simple, small touches around the house made all of us feel welcomed. We highly recommend this space for a lovely visit to Acadia National Park area!!

Lovely cottage

Jill was a responsive and welcoming host, and her cottage was a cozy, comfortable place to stay. A perfect site for exploring nearby Acadia, and Schoodic Point.
