Our family came here for Thanksgiving and then took a wine tour the following Friday. We had plenty of room and were very comfortable. Beautiful views and the outdoor fireplace were just icing on the cake!
Nice accommodations overlooking the Roaring River and next to the winery. Close to the venue where the wedding we were attending was held. Comfortable bed and for the most part quiet.
Great house with plenty of room and well-appointed kitchen. Highlight is the huge porch overlooking the river. We spent most of our time on the porch, dining outside or enjoying the comfortable outdoor couch and chairs. Convenient location for visiting Stone Mountain and local wineries.
Very clean and comfortable. My wife and I slept with door open to enjoy sound of river right beside us. Immediate responses from owners. Would recommend.
"Dear Josephine and Tom
We had a very good time staying with you last weekend. The Cedar Unit was fantastic, sitting on the deck overlooking the river and grilling out both nights. Perfection. The new (to us) winery and restaurant were really a good way to spend out afternoons after fishing. The Draft and Calamari were very good. We all caught several nice trout right below the porch. During the heat a quick swim in the river was very well received. Thank you for hosting such a nice retreat.

A lovely location - you will like it, but a few small issues
This was our second time staying here. First time we were in the lower apartments. This time we rented the second and third floor. Four adults.
The property is just wonderful, right on the Roaring River. One night there was a lot of rain, and the river came up a lot and was really roaring!
The facility is quite nice, but had a few issues:
The place needs a good deep cleaning. Quite a bit of the plates and cups cracked and chipped. Several lamps had no light bulbs, and there were a number of burned out bulbs. Some of the lights just don't work at all, and a number of light switches don't do anything.
The ceiling fan/light in the master blew the breaker when we turned it. The owner came with an electrician and reset the breaker so that the outlets in that room would work, but no fan and no light for our stay.
The owner was quite responsive in replacing light bulbs and brought in the cleaning person to clean the dust and cobwebs and dead bugs from the master room.
In the master, one screen was missing and one did not seal completely, so if windows opened, the hornets and bugs could come in.
Other window screens ok. Nice to open the windows at night to go to sleep to the sound of the river.
Some rugs and carpet pretty worn out.
There is a really nice fireplace area outside to sit around in the evening, but needs quite a bit of TLC.
There is a hot tub, which we did not use, but did so last time, and it was quite nice.
There is a restaurant on the property
A group of 6 of us were staying here for a wine tour weekend. The lodge was the perfect accommodation for us. The property was beautiful and the host made everything super easy. Beds were all super comfortable.
We loved our stay - beautiful lodging and surroundings, very friendly and generous owner. A great place for a large get together if you rent it out and use the full extent of the facilities.
We enjoyed the river view. We kept a few windows open at night and the river flow was like a sound machine that helped us sleep. Chez Josephine's Cheeseburger and Salad were both delicious!
The Roaring River Vineyards facility was first class in all aspects. Our family enjoyed four days in the Cedar condominium. All aspects of the stay were excellent in many ways. The facilities available were easy to access and complete as advertised. The owners were amazing in their response to all our requests and needs. It was a truly pleasurable experience!
We had a nice stay despite the lack cleanliness. The lodge needed a deep clean. It was very dusty, with dust caked on wall decor. Several of us sneezed all weekend. Also, we found dirty utensils in the draw & on cookware. The toaster oven was not clean & unusable, The owner states in the check out instruction that “they may not do a walk through” to insure cleanliness for the next guest. That must have been the case on our stay, especially with Covid we were appalled. . If I had known this was the policy of this facility. I would not have stayed there.
Tom & Josephine were extraordinary hosts, My 9 guests and I truly appreciated all of the extra efforts that insured a great weekend stay at their beautiful property.
What a blessing this property was for a weekend get away. We wished we had a week or more to truly take advantage of everything offered. Loved the peaceful mornings on the deck and great evenings at the winery. Very comfortable place with everything you need and more. Can’t wait to return!
Tom was a fantastic host and made sure we had lots to do around his property and the nearby parks. Its a great place to unwind and put the phone away! If you can get a few shots in at the clay machine! Thanks for a great stay Tom!
This is our 3rd visit to Roaring River. It’s the most beautiful place. Tom and Josephine go above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable fun and relaxing. The staff are amazing! So helpful and accommodating. This is by far my top 10 places to stay!
The cedar unit was gorgeous and well stocked in a beautiful location with a huge deck overlooking the river. ( We had most meals outside) Check in was super easy as well.
The only negatives were: the master bedroom is in the loft (along with the 4th bedroom) and doesn’t have much privacy as it overlooks the living room. And the dishwasher didn’t really seem to clean the dishes well.
We had a wonderful stay at this property! I really appreciated the owners working with us on the dates of the reservation & being accommodating. Such a lovely location, it was amazing to sit outside and watch & listen to the stream rush by! We didn’t want to leave!
