Wonderful stay, cozy amenities and thoughtful aesthetics. The view was nice and the loft was wonderful with the afternoon sun for a good snooze. Great getaway, would recommend!
Cute little cabin. Private setting.Just big enough for us. 5 adults and 3 dogs. Diane, the host, was very accommodating

Thank you for your review. I am glad the cabin had enough room for your family and dogs. This is the first time I had 3 dogs at once stay there. You left the cabin in perfect condition and the dogs were well behaved.

Diane could not have communicated better . She was super nice and keep in touch to ensure a smooth check in. Great place for a get away and super pet friendly.
We had a lovely time at the cabin. It’s a cute place, quite charming, and a peaceful reprieve. Listening to the birds chirping, seeing the beautiful flowers and lovely sunset was wonderful. Diane was informative, helpful, and easy to communicate with. So glad we stayed here!
The cabin was quite comfortable. Everything we needed was supplied —- toiletries, linens, cookware, etc. It’s a rural setting with easy access to the city sights of Pittsburgh. We hope to return.

Cute and cozy
The cabin was cute, clean, and cozy!! Met all our expectations! Had trouble connecting to the internet, but didn't worry about it since we didn't need it much. Also was a bit nervous about the low railing in the loft since the kiddos were sleeping up there. But we still had an amazing time, and would definitely stay here again!
I was hiding from the Texas heat and a hurricane. Turned out to be a bit warmer in the Burgh than I had anticipated but Diane had me covered with a window a/c unit and a portable unit downstairs. Without the A/C, it would have been hard to take.
I got to visit all of the museums and attractions I had missed during previous visits. I found it so easy to get downtown from the Cabin. Visited with family in the area who I normally only see during a busy holiday.
Whenever I’m in Pittsburgh I will always check availability at the Cabin 1st. It’s just the best place for me.
The owner is very accommodating!! We had to change our dates due to family visiting. Diane was very helpful and made the change.
The cabin is so charming!!! It had everything we needed! It is on beautiful property, although we didn't get the chance to walk the trails. Very close to Pittsburgh for day trips but yet far enough away.
We were able to bring our fur babies and they loved it!
The area is very hilly, did not expect that, with a lot of gorgeous homes.
Thank you Diane!! We hope to be back in the future!!!!

Hi Kim,
Thank you for the very nice review of the cabin. I'm glad the dates worked out and you enjoyed your stay. You are welcome anytime.
Diane
This lovely cabin with acres to roam around on, is so peaceful. Its hard to believe something this secluded could be within a metro area.
If you have a mixed ability levels or elderly within your group, this cabin might work well. The cabin's main floor does not have any step ups or down plus the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are a short distance from each other. The living room is just a tad further. Probably not a good layout for one that relies on a wheelchair most of the time, but good for someone using a cane or who has POTS, fatigue or similar issues that limit mobility.
I definitely recommend a stay at the cabin while visiting the Pittsburgh area. Especially if you need a quiet area to recharge your 'batteries' or let the kids run off some steam. .
Beautiful location, but you might want to reconsider bringing your pup.
This cabin is absolutely beautiful, and it is very conveniently located just 20 minutes from the city. My partner and I were looking for a nice cabin to get away for a few days that we could bring my dog to. We were very impressed with the grill, balcony, and fire pit. The thing I will warn you of, however, is that you should reconsider bringing a dog if that was your plan. Prior to our trip, my partner and I spent a whole day brushing out my dogs hair and we were very respectful to try to keep the cabin clean. My dog had an accident and I was charged for carpet cleaning- which is understandable. But I received many comments about dog hair and other issues. Next time I think I am going to look for a more rustic dog friendly cabin that is more understanding regarding these things.

I am glad you enjoyed the cabin. My cabin is very clean and I love that families can bring their pets with them for I feel they are part of the family and I am a dog lover myself. The cabin property is a dogs paradise. However, I also need to respect guests that do not bring, have or even like pets. I have had dog hair in excess which has been tough to remove especially on furniture. But I remove it. You had a very big dog and he had 2 large wet accidents. I had no choice but to have the carpets professionally cleaned and I only charged you $50 of the cost to have it doneI. It cost me $149. If guests are not sure how their pet is going to behave there is an option for damage insurance.
I wish I knew what you meant by saying you received many comments about dog hair and other issues. Please message me so I can look into that.
Thank you,
Diane.
We spent a week at the cabin and really enjoyed our time. Diane did a really great job of making us feel welcome and at home. The cabin is cozy, comfortable, and accommodating. We were so glad to find a dog-friendly property and boy did the pups love exploring the trails out back! The location was perfect- a quiet getaway but very easy to get into the city for dinner or the Steelers game.

I am happy to tell you about myself. I grew up 3 miles from my home and the cabin. The cabin sits down the hill from my home on 15 acres of property. I know the area very well and can tell you it is in a beautiful place in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. My husband, Jim, I attended Fox Chapel Are High School and so did our 3 children. We love camping and hiking, skiing and pretty much anything outdoors. My best friend, Cozmo, (dog) passed away last year :( and you can see him in the photos of the cabin. I was lucky to have him for 15 years. I own a couple of properties. The other one in Seven Springs Mountain Resort about 1 hour from here.
Why they chose this property
Everyone that stays at the cabin has a wonderful time. It is private, cozy and has lots of trails for guests to explore. I keep it very clean. My reviews should tell you lots more.
