Swanky Casa Ocean Beach 1 Block to the Beach W A/C

PLEASE NOTE: A new unit is slated to be built on a seperate lot behind the home. Currently there is no construction activity, Please ask for updates.

Two bedrooms & prime location! 250 steps to the beach 2 blocks the mainstreet. Split system A/C for independent control of each bedroom. Amenities include surfboards, bikes, & beach toys. Ocean Beach offers numerous bars/restaurants including the famous Hodad's & OB Noodle House, antique stores, & weekly Farmer's Market. Excellent walkability to the beach and mainstreet with local restaurants and shops.

This well kept and clean beach house has 2 bedrooms with high quality queen beds & comfortably sleeps 6. Bedroom 1 has one queen bed. Bedroom 2 has Queen Bunk beds (Queen upper and Queen Lower) The living room has a full size pullout bed that can sleep an additional 2 small people & a large couch w chaise lounge for comfortable seating & movie watching. The two bedrooms have independently controlled A/C units. The bedrooms are connected via a modern bathroom with high end bidet. An open floor plan with an elevated counter bar joins the kitchen & living room. Natural clay walls keep the space feeling dry & cool.

The backyard has a large pergola with lounge seating & bench table that seats six. The front patio has a table for dining, lounge seating, & peak ocean views.
This is a single family residence & space is not shared. Although the house is close to everything & the street is usually quiet, you are at the beach. Weekends & holidays can be festive & busy. Like all of Ocean Beach and Point Loma we are in the flight path

Located just 2 blocks from Newport Avenue (the mainstreet) the home has great walkability to beach, bars, and shopping.

Things to Note:
Although the house is close to everything, the street is generally quiet especially considering its proximity to the beach. Ocean Beach is a community & a bit of a throwback. OB has a different vibe than the fraternity/sorority feel of Pacific Beach or tourist attractions of Mission Beach. OB has been dubbed the last real beach town in Southern Ca.
Please keep in mind you are staying at the beach, it can be festive, busy, and crowded during holidays, select weekends and durning events. Generally Ocean Beach is mello but this is Southern California not Martha’s Vineyard :)

Ocean Beach & the entire Point Loma area are in the flight path. Luckily the San Diego airport (our military excepted) does not allow jets to take off between 11:30 pm & 6:30 am. Of course some days are busier than others.
Ocean Beach & southern ca does have its share of homeless. Generally they are non aggressive & harmless.

Respectfully THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE and although we are dog lovers they are not allowed. Quiet times are 9 pm and strictly enforced.

Parking
Street parking is available we do not currently have off street parking. Saratoga Avenue has open street parking however it can be busy especially on weekends and in the evening. Walkability is very good from the house and rideshares UBER and LYFT are readily available & recommended.

San Diego weekend

Three generations (teenage daughter, me, mother) stayed for a long weekend at the casa and couldn’t have been happier with our accommodations. The casa was close attractions, good restaurants and Joshua was an attentive and friendly host.

Loved the place. So close to lots of great food options in the Ocean Beach area. Not too mention that the place is down the street from the beach. Doing laundry on the fly way great and the out door shower helped clean the annoying sand that gets stuck on you. I definitely will book again!

Joshua the owner is super nice and great communication. The property is fun, great location and well stocked. It has bikes, surf boards, chairs and anything you need for the beach. You can see the ocean from the outside deck! 10/10 would stay here again.

Wonderful OB experience

Lovely place in Ocean Beach. Wonderful location. Place was very comfortable with many great touches such as the lovely porch for sitting (thanks for the coffee too!) Owner was wonderful and takes great care of the place. Enjoyed it very much.

Great vacation in OB!

Property is very comfortable, had everything you would want, comfy beds, lovely outdoor spaces to hang out, can walk everywhere, we did not drive once. View of the water too. The beach is so close, fun restaurants and bars, all the things you might need for the beach. We fell in love with Ocean Beach, only drawback is being on the flight path but we got used to it. Very easy place to vacate and this house is great!

Great location 1 block from the beach. Joshua was very helpful with our late night check in. House had everything needed inside as well as beach chairs, wagon, bikes, boogie boards and surf boards. Beautiful backyard area. Secure parking inside the garage. We wanted to be near the beach and this was great for our first visit to the San Diego area.

July 4th Getaway

Joshua is really accommodating! He met us when we arrived and rearranged his garage so we could get my brother’s truck to fit. The outdoor spaces are amazing. Really enjoyed the outdoor shower to rinse off after going to the beach. Anything you might need is provided for you. The house was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here especially for the 4th of July!

There’s not a better nor more elegant place in OB to stay

This home and it’s owner are truly amazing. You will be pleasantly surprised to find such class and elegance in OB. This is truly an amazing home to stay that has everything you need. I have never experienced such a home that truly has every accommodation and item that you will need. You will truly want for nothing. The home has a tremendous amount of privacy for being right next to the beach. The patio is wonderful and the backyard is a peaceful oasis and is zen like. I can not express how happy I was to be in such a lovely home with a prime location, walkable to everything as welll.

A great little place to vacation and get away from it all…

This was a great get away; it is right down the street from OB Pier, within walking distance to shops, food, and night life, and has quite a bit of privacy for relaxing on the back patio. There are upgrades throughout the home such as a bidet in the restroom, refinished wood flooring throughout, stainless steel appliances and a large washer and dryer. The host provided everything we needed and the place was fully stocked. The air conditioning units in the bedroom cooled the whole home well, which was perfect for us who love to sleep with a cold room. There are fun beach items such as a boogie board, buckets, bikes and surf boards, as well as beach chairs and towels. The shower out back had hot and cold water that was perfect for finding off after the beach. We had a great little get away and feel so fortunate to have found this little gem in Ocean beach!

Swanky and then some!

Stayed here for three nights just to have a quick OB getaway with our daughter and her boyfriend. The home couldn't be more perfect! Totally spotless and equally charming, we loved everything about it. The outside spaces were a joy to hang out in whether it was morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. Location of the home as outstanding as it was tucked into a very quiet, local, residential neighborhood but only two blocks away from the main drag in town and all you could ever want for OB or SD entertainment. Appointments to the home are generous and extremely well thought out from the kitchen cookware, to the bathroom linens, timer lights, access keypads, climate control, bluetooth speakers, laundry, etc. it all just couldn't be more perfect. We didn't even have to buy coffee thanks to the previous guest which speaks entirely to the OB sense of community that we love so much. To cap it all off, host Joshua was extremely friendly, professional and accessible for anything we needed which really wasn't anything. If you are looking for a comfortable, charming short term that you seriously won't want to leave, this is your place! Thanks Joshua, we will for sure be back!

We loved staying here. The location was so convenient to the main strip and the beach. We loved getting a coffee in the morning and watching the surfers and then strolling Dog Beach. We were able to bike all over the area - up to Sunset Cliffs, Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. We did a surf lesson in Pacific Beach one day. The house had all the amenities needed and we were very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and the we didn't really notice the planes flying over. We would 100% stay in this house again.

We were looking for a special place for the family to get together to celebrate our son's graduation, and we are so glad we chose Joshua's VRBO! The care our host put into making this a truly special house was so greatly appreciated. Very well appointed, we wanted for nothing. We did a fair amount of cooking in the well equipped kitchen, the modern appliances were also greatly appreciated! This house has spectacular outdoor spaces, and we spent a great deal of time in the backyard pergola with comfortable modular seating and a large table we used for dining and board games. We also ate a few meals out front, where there was another great outdoor space. The place is accessed via the back, the garage was great for our car, and was a great place to store the beach cruiser bicycles included with the rental. The neighborhood is just fantastic! Ocean Beach was a real treat, everything one would need is very much in walking distance, and we enjoyed the close-by dining and night life. Joshua was great host and really went over the top to make sure we had a fantastic stay. I totally recommend this VRBO for a San Diego/Ocean Beach getaway! Aloha, David, Susan et al.

Exactly as described and wonderful in all aspects.

The property and the location were just as described and met all expectations. Joshua was incredibly easy to coordinate with and went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. It felt like we had a good friend in town, as he was happy to give us great recommendations on the best places for food and drink. The location was perfect for us to walk everywhere - we never needed to move the car during our 2 nights there. We enjoyed every evening on the back patio or porch and the house was so cute and cozy. Everything we needed was there and the entire experience was very welcoming and easy. I'd be happy to book again anytime. Thank you so much, Joshua!

Surpassed our expectations

The description and photos of this property do not do it justice!! You have to stay here to believe it. We never wanted to leave. While the space is cozy, we never felt cramped because the house blurs right into the front porch and back yard. Our only suggestion is to bring warm pjs as the weather gets a little damp overnight (which is more a San Diego thing than anything wrong with the property). We will be back!!!

Great stay in Ocean Beach

This house was perfect for our family of four. Our boys enjoyed playing in the backyard, the beach is just a block a half away, and the main street with restaurants and breweries is just two blocks over. I highly recommend this VRBO. We loved it.

So close you can hear the waves. Good times

Great property, very close to beach. Property as described in listing. 5 mins from beach, 1 block from food, stores, restaurants, and anything you need. Property has 2 bedrooms and can sleep 1 or 2 more on couches. Great patio in the front overlooking street and beach, and roomy back yard for outdoor eating and BBQing. Host provided extras that made stay even better; bikes, boards, wagon, beach toys, cleaning products, towels, and more. Having a washer and dryer is so awesome also. TV and internet that makes stay fun during down time. No air, or at least not used, but really not needed, lots of windows. Must be quiet after 9pm during the week, but Friday and Saturday is lively with mutiple parties and people walking the street. I would stay here again and recommend for a couple or small family. Only downsides; there is a lot of homeless in the area, and no fault of host, but a factor about ocean beach. Walk smells like pee, they ask for handouts frequently, live along your walk to the beach and take up parking and sidewalk, and some security issues. Also only enough parking for 1 car, in the garage. Street parking is really hard.
