It was absolutely perfect for our couples weekend getaway! The most beautiful, picturesque, peaceful location immersed in nature. And the house was equally as beautiful with everything we needed and more! To top it off, an amazing host who went above and beyond to make sure our weekend was exactly what we needed! Sitting by the fire pit at night laughing and telling stories, eating breakfast and drinking coffee on the front porch listening to birds, this home provided us with cherished memories! We can’t wait to come back again!

We had the best stay, ever! Wingate was the perfect on site manager. He responded to any request we had. He spent time talking with the children and the adults alike. The house was simply amazing! There was enough space for five separate households without it ever being cramped! It was equipped with everything we needed. We highly recommend.

FANTASTIC FOR A LARGE GROUP!

This was such an amazing find! The lodge itself is just gorgeous, with memorabilia from the early days of the Georgia Bulldogs football team that had all of us in a state of disbelief. Every amenity was provided, excellent stay!!! been thought of.

Amazing Retreat!

We were in Athens to celebrate a graduation and found this wonderful experience! The property is simply amazing! Everything is well taken care of. The rooms are spacious, the great room is huge and the porch is so relaxing. We were there for a family reunion and a bulldog game. Had a great time. The host came over and introduced himself, he's great! The place is very accommodating. The hot tub may need some attention because we couldn't get it to heat.maybe user error but we have a hot tub so i think we know what we're doing. That didn't take away from our enjoyment though.

Oak Ridge Trail Cabin

We had a fantastic time. Great place to stay if you are visiting Athens or just want a relaxing time. The cabin was fabulous and we loved the donkeys who greeted us daily. We enjoyed the outdoor firepit. Having 2 kitchens was key for us to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner. We would definitely visit again. Thanks again Wingate!!

Wonderful Weekend!

We had the best time staying at the Oak Lodge for our daughter’s graduation. It has everything you need while being away from home. We had a great cookout and a couple really fun bonfires while getting to celebrate with family. Very comfortable beds and Wingate made sure we had all we needed and treated us like UGA royalty!

Rustic with creature comforts.

Our group of 8 adults could not have been more pleased with our stay. Plenty of space to gather in small groups, or all together in the main room. Well appointed amenities throughout, with an attention to cleaniness. Wingate, the owner, was extremely welcoming and happily shared information about his property. Rented this home for a bachelor party for a long weekend. This home is perfect for family gatherings and large groups that would like to see a Georgia bulldog football game. The host was excellent and would definitely rent this home again and would recommend you rent it also.

We came for the house and stayed for the donkeys, kitty, and birds!

We were in town for a family wedding at a venue just up the road and chose Oak Ridge Lodge to stay at. The house was spacious and set up perfectly for our family of 6 adults. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. There were yard games, a fantastic firepot and large hot tub. Getting up in the morning with a cup of coffee and a good book to sit on the porch and listen to the many birds...our idea of heaven! Windgate, the owner, was so kind and full of information about the history of the home. This is a property we will rent again!

We were welcomed by the host and we quickly struck up a connection with the Seminole Lake area and even a familiar family member which made the place even more interesting. The lodge is spacious with various areas to sleep. We only used one kitchen and it was well equipped with essentials. The bathrooms had plenty of linens and essentials in each bathroom. Definitely a 5 STAR!!

We stayed at the lodge Thursday to Sunday. On Friday, we toured UGA and went to the football game on Saturday. It was great to get back to the country and have a BBQ, fire pit, few cocktails. 15 minutes from UGA. Great property!

We have stayed at many VRBO properties, but never met a more friendly and gracious host as Wingate! We have a large family, and this place was wonderful to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from UGA. My only recommendation is make sure you have majority of your items since a “grocery run” will not be a short trip. We will definitely book this place again!!!

Thanksgiving in North Georgia

What fun to have 4 generations (18 months to 93) under one roof with room to spare. This beautiful log cabin was wonderfully equipped with 2 kitchens for a lovely family dinner event. We enjoyed the property with its nearby farm. The children made friends with the donkeys and the dog. My mother was able to drive her electric wheelchair right into her bedroom and access the main level. We even enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. I hope everyone has as good a time as we did.
