Great facility for a large group or family gathering. The porch on the casita needs a little attention, but we enjoyed our stay immensely. The hosts were prompt in communicating and helped us host a rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding.

Incredible property & no better place to celebrate my wedding with family and friends. Absolute beautiful views to wake up to every morning along with plenty of room to accommodate the wedding party. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the gorgeous hill country on an awesome property.

Thanks for a 5 star review. Yes, the kitchen and accompanying eating area could be bigger but this is a historic ranch and the existing buildings were all here for many years. Pictures of everything are on the rental site. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Overall, our stay was indeed very nice and calm. The main cabin may have been a little small for all of us, but we enjoyed the facilities and Mr. & Mrs. Mehall were extremely nice and friendly.
Beautiful area, incredible pool and views, fantastic billiard room. Close to several fun entertainment and good places!!

Thank you for your review-you all were most considerate guests! If only all our guests were as tidy and thoughtful, being a host would be so enjoyable. We hope you’ll come again.
We had a quick two nights at the property but enjoyed it so much. Our hostess couldn't have been nicer and the house was perfect for our purposes. The pool is dreamy and the bonus game room was so fun.

Thank you for your review. Hope your son had a good birthday. The weather could have been better but that’s just luck! Boys seemed toe joy the billiard room. Glad we could accommodate everyone though you left the casita unused. Hope you’ll come back at a later date. Thanks again.
Our 2nd visit was as wonderful as our first and we hope to visit again soon. Our Friends and I love this Ranch for our remote getaway weekends. Relaxing by the pool with the perfect view, is our favorite. Thank you for having us.
Breathtaking Hill Country views, lovingly protected and maintained land featuring numerous amenities and activities. Gracious and accommodating hosts - we can’t wait for our next visit!

Thanks for your lovely review. You all were easy guests and we’d love for you to return.
We spent the Holidays at the Still Waters Ranch and really enjoyed our time in the country setting that was very peaceful and quiet. Our bunch was able to spread out comfortably in the various accommodations. The kiddos especially enjoyed the game room and pool / hot tub! The outdoor pavilion was great for our group (we wished we had brought a wagon to haul meal supplies back and forth from the bungalow). The hosts were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Thanks for your positive comments! We’re glad it worked out well for your family to gather here. You all were very respectful guests and we’d be happy to host you again should another occasion arise. Thanks for choosing our VRBO.
Wonderful space for large family reunions. We were able to celebrate with 40 friends and family (17 staying there and the rest day guests) and never felt crowded! The bungalow is comfortable and the casita and bunk house very rustic but they served their purpose.Great experience!

About the host
Hosted by Sandy Mehall
Sandy and Bob, the current owners, have preserved the original casita built by Peter and Lina Lex as well as the second home that Peter, a stone mason, built in the 1870's for his family. The Lex family cemetery is located on the ranch as well as the original barn and other buildings added over time.
Why they chose this property
Experience visiting a ranch which has been in continuous operation since the 1860's with unique spring water and rainwater capture and storage. Also, see the work of stone gathering and construction of stone works, buildings, and walls done by German settlers as well as Mexican artisans in the past. The original 1870 barn is still standing and in use.
What makes this property unique
You will have the opportunity to view Angus /Wagyu beef cattle ranching and whitetail deer as well as hunt for fossils and arrowheads in Kelly Creek. Hiking and exploring is part of the experience that awaits you on this ranch which was an Indian hunting ground prior to the settlers arriving. Spectacular sunsets from the pool will be yours to enjoy.
