This was a beautiful house/cottage It had everything we would want and more. We had enough space for the children to play and enjoy themselves. The two living room/spaces were well appreciated
My friends and I decided to stay here for our girls trip. When we arrived we were all pleasantly surprised! The cottage is gorgeous,(a little dated but clean and much bigger than the pictures show) Suzanne , the sweet lady looking after the place is very kind and considerate, she made sure we were all settled in the first night, helped us out during an island wide power outage , which was short lived. The location on the Miscouche river is stunning. Its quiet, beautiful and we all said we cant wait to return!
We stayed here at the tail end of our island adventure. The place was large enough for our family. The beach was ok, kayaks were fun. Wi-Fi was good. Laundry and cooking space were good.
My husband and i, my daughter and son-in-law and teenage granddaughter stayed here. Just driving into the driveway was beautiful. We walked into the cleanest most spacious home. The beds were so comfortable. My favorite room was the sunroom. I sat there and read in any spare time. The kitchen had everything you could ever want. Plenty of dishes, cutlery, pots and pans. There is a washer and dryer and plenty of detergent and fabric sheets. Plenty of towels and facecloths. And then the little things like family games and books. Even the neighbours were so nice and friendly. I would recommend this cottage 110%.
Spacious location for 3 couples, lots of supplies, bbq, great water pressure and steps to the water. Swimming preferred at the more known beaches. Kayaking was available and close to the water. Lots of cooking supplies, don't buy too many groceries before checking with the owner or the cabinets yourself. Recommend Cabot Beach or Thunder Cove beach about 40 minutes drive. Suzanne was super helpful with any issues like propane. Recommend a "what to do cheat sheet" for some directions.
The location was amazing, the size and cleanliness of the home/cottage was great. It had almost anything you might need but forgot - draws and closets well stocked. The ad indicated that the property had an airt conditioner but it did not. The home/cottage held the moisture of our 4 day stay leaving carpets and bedding feeling moist. A dehumidifer is highly recommended. We didn't see any kayaks.
What we found the best about this property was how quiet it was. It was close to the water for strolls along the beach. Decks were nice to sit on and enjoy a drink. The weather wasn't as nice as we had wanted so we weren't able to use the kayaks or BBQ/Firepits. The cottage had all amenities you could want. We were two couples travelling together and we each had one side of the cottage with our own bedroom and full bathroom. The only downfall would be that the cottage is not airconditioned - but fans throughout. We were fortunate that it wasn't too hot during our stay so keeping the windows open and fans on kept the cottage cool. The cottage is a bit far to drive to main attractions but we were adventuring the whole island so it didn't deter us from doing so. Summerside is only a short drive away for groceries etc. We did get pizza from a local spot and it was yummy. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Great cottage to relax or entertain. Very quiet and relaxing. The owner is super nice and very accommodating to our questions. Would stay here again and recommend to all.

About the host
Hosted by Suzanne MacDonald
My name is Janice. I grew up in this community but moved to the mainland in my early twenties. After retiring from teaching, I purchased this cottage as my version of coming home. Situations don't always go as planned and for now, I hope our Island visitors can enjoy their stay at Grandview Cottage.
Why they chose this property
Spacious and roomy. Lots of private yard area away from other cottages. Easy access to the cottage from the back deck any time of the day or night without disturbing other cottagers. River beach is great for wading in warm safe waters and sand for long strolls along miles along the river banks. Shore shoes are recommended.
What makes this property unique
Close to Summerside and an easy drive to many central beaches on the Island. Cabot Park, Thunder Cove, and Cavendish, to name to the main ones. The Linkletter and Rod Miller River resort Golf Courses are also within a short drive from the cottage.
