The Heard House, in the heart of downtown Murphys, is a sweet, single-level cottage completely rebuilt in 2008 with all the charm and character of a bygone era, thoughtfully updated with today's comforts and conveniences. Located on a sunny and fenced 1/3 acre parcel in a residential neighborhood just one block off Main Street, the cottage is nicely set back at the rear of the property and hidden from the street, so you have all the privacy you crave, without the traffic and noise issues of downtown. The open and airy living room has vaulted ceilings and a toasty gas fireplace. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and entertaining, with coffee beans, half and half, teas and spices, a vintage gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender, and breakfast bar seating. Five star amenities like chocolates by the bedside, fresh flowers, snacks and free WIFI have it stand out from the rest. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, with down comforter and duvet cover. The bathroom has vaulted ceilings, skylight, a clawfoot tub/shower combo, hair dryer, and hotel toiletries. Split unit Heating and AC, ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom, and a gas fireplace for your comfort. Private deck with bench seating and an umbrella-shaded table is the perfect spot for relaxing with your morning coffee, plus a gas BBQ, outdoor shower and a horseshoe pit you’re welcome to use.
