Nice clean 2 br cabin with great views onto Lake Eyak.
We saw a Pine Martin run across the lake ice, and two moose a few miles out the main road.
Joanie and Bob checked in with us before and during our visit.
A perfect stay.

Quaint and relaxing
A special spot with a beautiful view and a cozy cabin. We had a nice fire in the fire pit by the lake and grilled up a beautiful dinner. The owners are very attentive and haven’t forgotten one detail!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review...and for being lovely guests. It was easy to reach you, to communicate with you, and to host you. We like guests like that.... :)
Please do come again!
Spent a cozy weekend enjoying the view from the comfort and coziness of the cabin. Loved listening to the sound of the rain on the roof. Well appointed and just like described. Would definitely stay again In the future.
We visited this place 14 years ago and Cordova remains delightfully the same quiet place away from all the touristy crowds of Denali and Anchorage.
We stayed at the same cabin - the cabin is worn down and needs some TLC for all these years in a harsh climate. Its clean and quiet. The shrubs are a bit overgrown so harder to see the water sitting on the deck , but nothing a brush cutter cant fix. The things inside are a bit worn.
The property manager is delightful, she knows a lot about the area and things to do locally. Bob the owner had some wonderful suggestions. Our vacation was fantastic.
If you are visiting Cordova for the first time and plan to stay a few days - my one big suggestion is to bring your food supplies with you, There are only 5-6 eating places in town due to COVID - the only local grocery superstore is super expensive. There are condiments in the kitchen and it has all the utensils, knives etc. if you wish to cook there are quite a few rather old and heavily used pots and pans.
There is a freezer for your fish, kayaks to go on to the lake and firewood for the fire pit which was very nice after a long day of hiking.
Overall, our family greatly enjoyed our stay in Cordova hiking, fishing and just relaxing. Add it to your bucket list!
Lots of laughing, fishing for Salmon and relaxing.
Only let down was a planned halibut trip that didn't happen because Boris was either broke down in his boat or truck

SO glad you all had such a great time Tanya. We would LOVE to have you back any time. You were one of the best communicators we have had the pleasure of working with !
Bob and Joanie, the new owners of the Lodge, welcome you to their back yard. They live on the same lake (1/2 mile away), they LOVE Cordova, and their priorities include family, friends, visitors, and God.
Not necessarily in that order....
Why they chose this property
Cordova is a plethora of stunning sights and earthy smells and lively personalities. We cannot drive home without feeling blessed to live here, as we look at Queen's Chair. We cannot walk down the streets without seeing someone stop in the middle of the road to say "hi". And we cannot go through a year without some new great Alaskan story. It's a wild, constant adventure... mixed up with moments of serenity.
What makes this property unique
We chose to buy this particular property because the neighborhood is gentle and spectacular views change by the the time was right to start a new adventure. It will only take an evening watching the colors on the mountains to see why anyone would love this place.... come see.
