About this property
Holiday Hill Resort "The Treehouse" Unit 722
This is a very cozy "Treehouse" we affectionately refer to as "The Shack in the Back," or "Crew's Quarters." The bedroom is two steps off the mini kitchenette. Built on stilts over the sand dune you will wake up to morning sun dappling through the trees. It's on the back side of the property so you can enjoy a quiet cup of coffee and likely see some visiting deer. Although very small, it's more than enough for a romantic getaway with a small kitchenette to prepare dinner for two.

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. The property was beautiful and just a short drive to many of the local attractions. The cottage was quaint and perfect for a couples getaway. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Cute and Cozy
Perfect place for my husband and me. I would recommend to other couples
Stay was fantastic! A lot of uphill-ing since it’s at the top of a dune but after eating all the excellent food Saugatuck offers, we needed to exercise!! Would go back for sure
The owner/staff were always making sure you were enjoying your stay & very friendly. The property was maintained beautifully & wonderful views of the river! Close to everything. Only downside is the stairs, but you get great views in return!
Although small in size, the house was comfortable and very well organized. The swimming pool and surrounding property were lovely and very well maintained. We enjoyed using the shared patio area that overlooked the river. All of the boat action was very entertaining.
A cozy little home up in the hills. A perfect getaway spot with my wife. Morning coffee overlooking the boats on the Kalamazoo river, hiking the nature path on Mount Baldhead and watching the sunset over Lake Michigan at Oval Beach. Just a few of the close by activities you can experience staying here.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! It was the perfect size space for my partner and I, and a great location! We were in town to go to Tulip Time in Holland, and it was just a short drive away, while also being very close to the cute shops in Saugatuck. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly as well. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely come back again!
Great location. The number of stairs and parking situation for the Tree House property could use improvement, or more clear disclosure. Overall it was very clean and comfortable. I would rent again but at a lower level unit.
This was the second trip to Saugatuck for me and my husband. We saw this property previously but it was booked. We were so glad we were able to stay at Holiday Hill in the “shack in the back” this time around. It’s tiny but in the cutest possible way. Plenty of room for the two of us. We were impressed with all that was provided in the unit, including great local coffee. Holiday Hill is family owned and you can tell from check-in to the guys doing some off-season work to checkout, everyone was very friendly and helpful with any questions. We were able to walk to a few local attractions— stunning Oval Beach and Mt. Baldhead. And a close drive to downtown Saugatuck and everything it offers. It was a fantastic getaway. We’ll be back!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The staff were wonderful. The property was very small, uncomfortable and hard to access. We are both in our 70's and were not aware we would have to walk up several flights of stairs to reach our destination. We carried our luggage and cooler up these steps and became totally exhausted doing so. There was an inclinator for luggage but it wasn't at our disposal. We parked at the top of the lot and had to back the vehicle down a steep incline to leave. A better explanation of the property might solve this issue. It was also very pricey for what we received.

Cozy, secluded, walk away from everything you need to do
My wife and I stayed here for a few days near the end of June, and we were extremely satisfied with it. The building itself is small (but cozy) and perfect for a relaxing, romantic getaway for two. The porch overlooks the surrounding wooded area and there's an excellent view of the river. Staff was extremely nice and the room was always clean whenever we got back from lunch. There was hardly anyone using the heated pool so we pretty much had it to ourselves. The greatest thing about this spot is how close it is to all the surrounding attractions. You're literally a walk away from all of the shops (via the awesome chain ferry that crosses the river) and the beach via the Mt. Baldhead trail (or the short road on the other side if you don't feel like getting a ton of exercise from those 300+ stairs). We didn't have to travel any further than a couple miles to go grocery shopping, visit the beach, go kayaking, and enjoy the many shops and restaurants located in Saugatuck. Would definitely recommend Holiday Hill to anyone looking to visit Michigan. We were more than pleased and will probably be making another trip to this location in the future because of how satisfied we were!
We had a lovely stay at this property and Holiday Hill in Douglas, MI, right next to Saugatuck. The tree house was beautifully situated at the top of a sand dune and had nice views of the sunrise from a private deck. The dune is wooded and there was nice shade. The Holiday Hill property has a gorgeous private pool with a great view of Saugatuck harbor. There are plenty of lounge chairs and tables around the pool to relax and enjoy a snack.
The tree house was the perfect size for a couple. It was cozy and well proportioned between the bedroom, eat in kitchen, and bath. There were dishes, cutlery, a mini fridge, and pots and pans for cooking. The property was very clean. All of the ingredients for a perfect stay. Like some of the other reviews mentioned, there were many steps up to the treehouse, but every step was worth it. There is also a closer parking area with a few spots where you can at least unload and load luggage, even if it’s full.
I was most thankful for the property managers promptly contacting us after I left my checkbook in the tree house. They sent it back to my home address via registered mail safe and sound.
We can’t wait for our next visit!
