This little cottage was absolutely amazing. Had everything we needed was amazing views of sand Lake with beach access. if you’re looking for a quiet getaway, I would highly recommend.
This property was so perfect for my friends and I! We had a few hiccups but the owner was able to answer promptly and was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Great experience, quaint and cozy, perfect for our annual siblings weekend. It might sound like a small thing, but we really appreciated the nice kitchenware, it was a welcome change as we cooked all of our meals!
Beautiful views and very peaceful. Thanks!
Perfect weather for our Labor Day family gathering! The beach was perfect for nearby family to come and play in the water! The house fit our family group perfectly! Tim was very friendly to work with. Being near the beach, sand was hard to combat but if everyone washed their feet at the hose provided we got most of it! Very well stocked kitchen and kids bowls and plates!
Great stay. So quiet and peaceful. (However we did not stay the weekend). Great walkability. Nice little beach and amenities. Great accommodations for the price. Water did not smell great but owner was aware and seeking to improve it.
Overall stay was very good. Cottage was clean and within a handful of steps down to the lake. Upstairs bedrooms were a tad warm due to the AC setup, but we managed. One small inconvenience with the 1/2 bathroom outside attached to the garage. Property manager was prompt and came by to check in as needed. Enjoyed our stay!
The house was clean and the property was very nice. It was great to have everything provided.... linens, towels, dish soap and tablets, tons of dishes, a propane grill, with propane and fire wood! Many dont offer all these extras, made it so nice for a 5 day weekend!
Nice setting, but all the rooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs .being the stairs are older and wooden the creaked alot and if your a light sleeper you heard whenever someone went downstairs.we put a small light at the bottom so we could see.and we did see a mouse twice and contacted the owner who was willing to come out that night
We had a great time at the cabin. It was a perfect set up for our group of 8. Kids were able to swim and fish right off the dock. The Paddle boards and canoe were fun for everyone. We were able to dock our boats right at the cabin and even caught a few nice fish( large mouth bass, walleye, perch, and pike). The cabin is located in a nice quiet neighborhood and close enough to lake huron so getting to the big lake was still convenient. Overall we had a great time.
Beautiful lake and property! We had an amazing week playing with our dogs and kids on the water. The paddleboarding, fishing, swimming, bonfire under the super moon, and card games in the evenings were just what we needed. The local microbrewery was a lot of fun for an evening out. We also ventured into Tawas and enjoyed a beautiful walk out on the point taking in the wildlife and scenery, followed by shopping and ice cream while listening to live music downtown. Great location with something fun for everyone. Tim and Tanya were fantastic hosts! Thank you for the wonderful memories!
Most everything was clean, beds up stairs were comfortable, however the couch, the pull out bed and recliner down stairs were not. We are 69 years plus 1 of us in a wheelchair we could not sleep up stairs. They were worn out and felt dirty we covered them with sheets. The lake was great, nice porches , fire pit was nice and close and alot of wood. 2 bathrooms were clean and we wre happy to have them..The TV went out and Tim the owner really worked on trying to get our service back. Everyone who slept upstairs said they would rent again.
The photos in the listing are pretty accurate. The place was very clean and bug/rodent free. Tim checked in on us via email a few times during our week long stay to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Mikey’s pizza was so delicious and we enjoyed a meal at The Boathouse, which was good as well. Wal~Mart was only about 20 mins away, so we stocked up and mostly ate at the cabin. Lake Huron and Tawas is also about 20 mins away and has a nice beach that’s open to the public. Newman St in East Tawas has some nice gift shops, a delicious ice cream/fudge shop and Village Chocolatier. Overall, was a nice area and a great place to stay. I can definitely see us going there again!
Tim is great at communicating and accommodating your needs as best he can. He checked in regularly to make sure we didn’t need anything. He has been putting in a lot of work to update some things - brand new TV, new, lighter paddle boards, brand new grill, special filtering system for laundry water… The cottage has a bit of an older feel to it, but very clean and comfortable. The separate air for upstairs and main floor is nice. We love to fish and Sand Lake is more of a recreational lake; however, the fish we did catch - large and small mouth bass, pike , rock bass, catfish - were huge. Thank you Tim, for a place to enjoy nature and relax!

It says 2 bathrooms but only 1
This property is in no way as it is described on VRBO, sleeping 12 part is not accurate that includes fold out foam mattresses. This place can 5 people comfortably . I paid a bunch of fees for cleaning and that kind of stuff so the property ended up costing a significant amount for one night. It stated it had two bathrooms. It has ONE all of the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is on the main level.. The staircase is very windy and small, and very difficult to navigate at night. I would definitely not stay here again.

Im sorry Heather that you didn't see the other bathroom. The cottage does have two bathrooms. There aren't a bunch of fees there is a cleaning fee which everyone charges in the area. The cottage can sleep 8 with those eight people having their own beds. The other beds are pull out and a queen air bed. If you have any further questions let me know.
This property sits on the bank of a warm inland lake. The view from the deck is simply beautiful! The indoor porch allows you to enjoy the view and escape the elements. Private access to the lake is a definite bonus. We enjoyed the fire pit and it was kind of the owner to help us get it started. The house had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves. Although we had complications with booking, check in and out was very simple. The inside of the house was clean. The outside furniture needed to be cleaned and was generally not put together. This required some effort on our part to enjoy the outdoors. While the location is beautiful the property is situated in a small country town with strong political views that are very visible. This did cause our politically and socially liberal family to feel uncomfortable.

was not what I expected
Based on the pictures online it appeared to be a nice house on a lake. What we got was a rustic fishing cottage. The bedrooms were upstairs, but the bathroom was on the lower level. Not convenient for children or adults that get up in the night. The stairs were dark and narrow. You could not turn on the light from the upstairs. We could not use the closets for our clothing because there was exposed insulation. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen drawer. There were minimal modern comforts. We left 2 days early because family was so unhappy.
