What a beautiful location and home! We selected this spot for a weekend getaway for my husband's birthday with 2 other families, and it could not have been more perfect. We arrived on Friday afternoon and didn't leave the property until Sunday. There was so much to do with all the games in the basement (ping pong, air hockey, table shuffleboard), activities for the kids, space for them to play outside, hot tub, fire pit, and just sitting on the porch, enjoying the view. We would love to return!
House was spotless, fun, kitchen well stocked. Hot tub was wonderful, views were gorgeous.

Relaxing cabin with beautiful views.
This cabin was amazing!! Amazing views, great outdoor fire pit and great basement with lots of games. The owners have thought of everything for guests to enjoy their stay.
Perfect cabin for families with children. Plenty of of room for everyone to spread out and plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained! So peaceful and the views can’t be beat! Incredibly clean and well stocked with supplies.
Could not have been a better trip for a 50th birthday! House is beautiful and clean with lots of space. The views were as good as it gets for a stay in North Carolina. Every evening we sat around the amazing fire pit area and watched the beautiful sunsets. Will definitely be back to stay here ASAP!
Beautiful, well-equipped home with amazing views! We enjoyed hiking in the smoky mountains and coming back to relax in the hot tub, use the game room, and enjoy bonfires with amazing mountain views!
We had a wonderful time staying here. The house’s layout is perfect for a large family/group. Plenty of room to spread out. Game room is magnificent! The kitchen was very well stocked. And “extras” that were supplied like coffee, creamer, shampoo and conditioner were welcoming. Best of all we’re the magnificent views! Highly recommend this house for your mountain vacation.
Active and Retired Bro/Sis with family vacation.
Located up in the mountains, steep in some areas, but it was an amazing stay!! Beautiful home, one of a kind view, truly in awe of the view we had during our stay. Our kids loved the games and corn hole. We really enjoyed our stay there. We went to Deep Creek Tubing and NOC White Water Rafting which was such an amazing experience. Thank you for your beautiful home.
We were 3 couples celebrating birthdays and Lookout Lodge was perfect. It had everything we needed and then some. Yes, it is remote but we read the reviews and knew that. The game room was great,. The fire pit and the jacuzzi was perfect for the colder than usual weather that we had. We would definitely recommend!
Our family loved every minute of our stay! Take your time driving to the house because it has very steep inclines to property! But it will be worth it to see the views of the Great Smoky Mountains! The house was comfortable, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Great lower game room also! Thank you Kendra for sharing your beautiful home!
I have nothing negative to report with this property. It was very clean, had everything necessary for preparing a Thanksgiving dinner and was very accommodating for both the adults and teens in our family. The drive up is steep but most any vehicle should make it up with no problem. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin!

Thank you for booking with us and writing this review!
Words cannot describe how amazing this property truly was. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and then some. The gameroom alone kept the kids busy for hours. The wrap around porch was amazing especially with the views of the mountains. It was truly picture perfect. We spent every evening outside on that porch playing games. I highly recommended you stay here. It more than exceeded our expectations.
It was great to have two master bedrooms plus the other two for the teens and my mom. Very well appointed home with lots of amenities. Be ready for the 20+ minute drive to groceries and town. The driveway through the neighborhood is a challenge so make sure your vehicle is capable: good brakes and great tires needed. Overall, it's a great place for peace and quiet.
Our stay at this cabin was wonderful. They had everything you may need, including a first aid box (thankfully we didn’t have to use it). There were coffee filters, towels, shampoo and conditioner. It was lovely. The view was spectacular and the place was very clean.
The only downfall was that it took about 35-45 minutes to get to a hiking trail, town or grocery store. Otherwise, it was amazing.
We had an outstanding time at this cabin. The ride up was a bit challanging but worth the views. 20 minute ride up and down so figure that into your plans. Close proximity to a supermarket and fuel. Rainy day spent in doors but they had air hockey, foose ball ping pong and books for the kids. Very clean and well maintained house. The views changed everyday from the balcony overlooking the mountains. Will do it agin.
We loved everything about this property. We had retired grandparents, grandkids from 5-13, and their parents. It was perfect for our party of 9 and we all had adequate space. We enjoyed the game room, fire pit, and hot tub. We also made good use of the full washer and dryer ;) The view was unparalleled and the sunrise/sunsets were a highlight of every day. The road to the cabin is long and steep. If we come again, we will have 4-wheel drive on all vehicles, but we did make it up and down (in cool, dry weather--good conditions) in our Honda Odyssey. I would recommend this place highly! Once you get your groceries in town and make the trek up the mountain, you really have no reason to leave unless you want to!
Very well stocked kitchen and baths, large family sized hot tub worth the extra money, the absolute best bunk/game room/laundry i've seen and we all loved the walk-in shower, just wished I had noticed the bench under the counter the first day and not the last. Every mattress except bunkies, seemed a bit to firm for all of us. Would be nice if you offered a mattress topper. I usually travel with one but did not this time.
A little tough to get to, but worth it. A great house with fantastic views. Well equipped and very comfortable for families. Sunset out by the fire pit was fantastic. The only draw back was being woken in the night by mouse activity. After the first night, we found signs of mice in our room, so moved to another. No visible signs there, but still got woken up throughout the night from their noise. The owner was notified, and I'm sure will take action. Once addressed, we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We’re sorry about the mice! We have just put the cabin under a pest control contract with Orkin, which includes rodents. I hope it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience and you still enjoyed your vacation. Thank you for letting us know.
Every year our family/extended family (9 adults and kids) all travel to the area for vacation. We chose this place based on the views and it didn’t disappoint. Wonderful sunrise and sunset and so peaceful. The property has a well stocked kitchen (though is missing a skillet, in case you need one) and the gas grill was great. The kids enjoyed the basement and game room… plenty of things to do to keep everyone entertained and off devices.Only thing I would share with potential renters that I would have liked to understand better is the road conditions. Many reviews about it being a steep access road with AWD/4WD recommended - what I didn’t understand was that the majority of the last half would be gravel on a winding incline (it’s probably written somewhere and I missed it). While my husband and I were fine with our Silverado and suburban, another guest had a Honda accord and it was difficult for them. We ended up just using both our large vehicles to transport the entire family to attractions. While they could have used the accord if necessary, there was some level of discomfort/concern with ascending to the property. If you’re an experienced mountain driver you should have no issue. All that to say that the view is worth the 30 minute drive from 74.The host was extremely responsive and helpful. All in all it was a great stay that I’m sure everyone will be talking about for the rest of the year.
Amazing view, and kids LOVED the game room. Kitchen was well equipped and the grill was very nice, making dinners in every night very enjoyable!

About the host
Hosted by Kendra Jackson
My husband and I dreamed of owning a mountain cabin since our children were very young. Now, we’re fortunate to enjoy it with our children and six grandchildren. We designed it to appeal to all ages—from the very young to teenagers and beyond.
We’re thrilled to share this special place not only with our family but also with you! We hope you’ll enjoy and cherish it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We have always loved the Great Smoky Mountain area and wanted to be close enough to enjoy its beauty, yet far enough to escape the tourist crowds. This property offers the best of both worlds—peaceful forest tranquility, breathtaking evening sunsets, and the convenience of being just a short drive to groceries, restaurants, and local activities.
Perched at an elevation of approximately 4,000 feet, it provides a cool and comfortable retreat, even during the hottest summer days.
What makes this property unique
Situated on 2.3 acres, this lot is larger than most, offering privacy and the feeling of being immersed in the forest. During the summer months, when the trees are full of leaves, it’s difficult to spot any other cabins through the foliage.
The backyard is especially private, making it the perfect spot to enjoy the fire pit and hot tub in complete seclusion!
