Nestled on the southern shore of Lake Superior, Jarven Hytti is a luxury experience at an affordable price. The private setting provides beautiful views of the lake and its pink-sand agate beach. Not your typical north woods cabin, the architect-inspired Finnish style beach house is spectacular. It comfortably sleeps 8 persons. And, the two modern ,tidy bathrooms comfortably accommodate its guests. A modern, fully-equipped kitchen , a large family room with a stone fireplace, comfortable bedrooms and fireplace on the deck all add to the cozy , functional, vacation home. Luxury linens and native dwarf lake irises round out a truly wonderful getaway setting. Off the beaten track, near the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness/ , Jarven Hytti is the perfect base camp for your upper peninsula / Lake Superior adventure. Spring and summer . Get cozy in front of the fire.

SUSTAINABILITY, THE WETLAND AND THE SHORE
JärvenHytti was designed with the input and approval of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Army Corps of Engineers. Every effort has been made to protect the adjacent wetland ( with its natural flora and fauna ) and the shoreline.

DOGS WELCOME. BUT, PLEASE REMEMBER THE DOG FEE. IT REALLY DOES REQUIRE MORE CLEANING TO MAKE JÄRVEN HYTTI SPIC ‘N SPAN FOR THE NEXT GUESTS.

Occasionally renters ask “why an additional nightly charge for each guest over the first two?” We are sure you understand , as with any household, additional residents add to the costs of operation. Scavenger services( charged by-the-bag), septic service( more pumping) ,laundry (sheets and towels) , utilities ( water, electricity) , cleaning services, general wear-and-tear and other overheads increase with the number of occupants. While most rentals are to groups of two, it would be unfair to price the basic nightly rate to prorate the additional costs associated with larger-group stays. Thank you for understanding.

Amazing stay!

Beautiful and spotless cabin with an awesome location. Really enjoyed the sound of the waves of Lake Superior, the birds in the morning, and relaxing at the beach! Internet was great, which allowed me to work remotely as needed and still enjoy the remote U.P. countryside!

Annual Three Sisters at the Big Lake trip

Wonderful accommodations. The large deck was great for morning coffee, bird watching and listening to Superior’s soothing sounds. We captured beautiful sunrise and sunset photos.

UP Winter Get Away

absolutely wonderful place. loved the simple wood work design, the beautiful cozy fireplace, the view, need I say more, the well appointed kitchen, lacking for nothing. the bed was firm and comfy. and location so close to the Porcupine Mts perfect in the winter for down hill skiing and cross country skiing and snow shoeing which we enjoyed

We loved the gas fireplace, spacious kitchen with amenities, and the lakeside deck for afternoon and evening relaxation moments. A great place to use as a base camp for outdoor adventures or just to enjoy Lake Superior.

The stay was awesome! It wasn’t close to the trails but we ended up trailering. But this place would be awesome for the summer time there is great views, with the beach, and the water!

Our family loved our stay! The home was spacious enough to give everyone room but we were able to gather together and have fun. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and the variety of offered suggestions and things at the home were great. Loved the beach access and the beautiful deck. The fireplace was awesome!

Fantastic Getaway

I absolutely loved our stay. This is the one time we rented a house that looked lovely in the photos and was even better in person! I would move in. I was with my teen daughter, exchange student, and one of their friends for a ski weekend. We were all very impressed and very cozy and comfortable. It had everything we needed and was conveniently located to all we wanted to do.This was a great stay and I highly recommend!

Perfect Stay for Renewing Mind and Body

This property was a great location to renew and recover after a hard day of work. Even though the weather was treacherous over the weekend, the house was inviting, cozy and warm. The hosts were compassionate and helpful as we had a family need in the area. We are very grateful for their thoughtfulness. The property manager was amazing and helpful as well. Would return for sure!

Great stay

We really enjoyed staying at this property. House was extremely clean and we would definitely stay here again. It was an even closer walk to the lake that we realized and we were lucky enough to have had a couple of warm days in October where we were able to enjoy hanging out at the beach in our t-shirts and enjoy a beach fire. This was a quiet, private location and a very close drive to the Porcupine Mountains.

Finland on Lake Superior

A very nice Scandinavian themed cabin on the "big" lake. The decks around the cabin and the lake deck are particularly inviting. The location is perfect for access to Ontonagon for dining and supplies and the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park for hiking and skiing. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Perfect north woods getaway

The cabin is so cozy and beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. It's a perfect spot on lake superior for a relaxing vacation. Very clean and comfortable and the owners do a great job providing everything you need. Would highly recommend.

Amazing Property

This was probably the most beautiful property we've stayed at. The house was spotless, and had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Being 50% Finnish,I really appreciated all the Scandinavian decor (with a bit of Paris thrown in). We enjoyed the outdoor (and indoor) fireplaces. The property was just beautiful and situated on Lake Superior with wonderful starlit, dark sky views. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect getaway!

So relaxing and quiet. Very comfortable. The house had everything we needed. Loved the deck on the house, where we had our meals. The deck by the lake was even better! We spent so much time there. Lake Superior is beautiful!
