Welcome to 526 Pilot House, in the heart of the Resort at Baytowne Wharf! This property will comfortably sleep four guests. Our 1BR-2BA condo is located on the 5th floor of the Pilot House - just steps away from the sparkling lagoon swimming pool, hot tub, and fitness room! Spend warm summer evenings lounging on the oversize balcony, and enjoy a view of the swimming pool and tropical gardens. Take the tram to the sugar white beach, walk to restaurants and entertainment at the Baytowne Wharf, and enjoy the most beautiful lagoon style swimming pool complex at the Resort.

This condo is newly designed in stylish "beach chic" furnishings. Our cozy family room offers a queen sleeper sofa, an HDTV, and complimentary WiFi. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to whip up a meal for the group, and there is a guest bathroom located right off the kitchen. Our master bedroom is complete with a comfortable king bed, custom linens, an HDTV, and a private bath. For your convenience, there is a stackable washer/dryer, but please bring your own beach towels. A nearby elevator provides easy access to the pool level and the entrance to the Baytowne Wharf. The tram stop is located right outside the Pilot House front door, so hop on the tram and zip on over to the beach.

526 Pilot House is at the center of it all - the beach, the pool, the tram, and all that the Resort has to offer!

CANCELLATION: Reservations that are cancelled more than 30 days prior to the arrival date receive a full refund. Reservations cancelled 14-29 days prior to arrival receive a refund of 50% of the amount paid. Reservations cancelled within 14 days of arrival receive no refund unless the guest purchased travel insurance. Guests are required to complete a rental agreement by electronic signature within 3 days of booking.

Our condo was beautiful. The complex itself was quiet and it felt as if we had it all to ourselves. We were steps away from Baytowne Wharf. We walked around every evening and ate dinner at several of the restaurants. We would definitely stay there again!

Overall very happy with our stay! The condo was great, clean and the instructions for the check in/out and while we were there were very easy to follow. We will 100% be booking through this group again. The only thing we found to be slightly annoying is the tram, it was great and useful but a 4 minute ride to the beach was always over 30 minutes because they drove us all around the resort first for other stops. There are other trams going around as well and I feel like there are ways this could be improved for people who just want to get to the beach. Besides that we were very impressed and will be back!

Beauty near the Beach

Absolutely loved this unit. I loved the large balcony, and the bedroom was so pretty. Slept like a rock on the soft mattress. Kitchen had everything we needed. Baytowne Wharf is so cool! You don't even need to use your car for a thing. The shuttle to the beach was just perfect. We will be back! The only downside was the low water pressure in the bathtubs. Also, water did not drain as quickly as it should.

Baytowne Wharf Spring Break Stay

We had 2 adults and 2 children stay in this condo during spring break. The unit was clean and beautifully decorated. You'll need to bring pretty much everything for your stay including toilet paper and trash bags as the unit is only stocked with a starter supply (1 in each bathroom). The pull out couch was decent for the 2 small kids, but wouldn't be a great nights sleep for a heavier child/adult. The resort was great for our children (ages 4 & 6), but also offered plenty of shopping and dining for adults as well. Overall, this was a nice unit and would stay here again if we return to the area.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a good experience. However, I feel this picture is misleading. It looks very bright with a lot of blues. I chose it because of the colors and decor. When we arrived everything was much darker. I think the furniture, rug, and pillows were all different. I can't recall if the walls were still blue. The carpeting in the bedroom needed to be vacuumed and there were a couple of dark hairs in the bathroom sink upon arrival. Initially, we were disappointed, but once I cleaned things up a bit it was a very nice stay. The condo has everything you need and 2 bathrooms was a great bonus. The stove and washer/dryer worked well. The AC worked well. There was a good view of the pool from the balcony. Baytowne wharf is a perfect dilestination for families with everything in walking distance. Overall, we were pleased, but I would recommend updating the listing photo to something more current to avoid misleading people.

The rental involved a lot of fees to different entities that seemed redundant, but the lack of a "resort pass" denied us access to the beach. We had to drive down the road to the State Park to get a beach experience. Lots of high end shops and restaurants, but we didn't need a beach to shop. The unit did come with a shuttle pass which enabled us to leave the car in the garage. A number of the shops in our area were out of business likely not surviving covid shutdowns.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the Pilot House location is great. The location is fantastic for the the wharf, golf, easy access to the marina, tennis center. The issues we had with this particular rental are as follows: 1) There is a very bad odor in the apartment that no air freshener could seem to deal with. We left the sliding door open all the time and fans going but every time we entered the condo it hit us all over again. 2) The mattress is very old, with pretty significant dips jn both sides. 3) The codes, required instructions for entering the building are not clear at all. It turns out that there is a small arrow to the far right on the main page of the instructions that takes you to the codes but your main entry code is displayed on the main page. If you use the address on VRBO to get directions Apple Maps will take you to the Grand property, it was only after digging through VRBO that I was able to figure out to ask for Pilot House. The building, the parking garage and the condo have seperate codes for access.

We are shocked to hear of a bad odor in our unit as it was not reported by our staff prior to your arrival and we have been unable to recreate the smell. We can only guess that it may have been related to building maintenance occurring during your stay. Nevertheless, we are so sorry for this issue and for any inconvenience it may have caused. As for the mattress, we apologize it you were uncomfortable at any point during your stay; we will send a member of our team to assess the mattress and will be sure to pass this information on to the owner for further consideration. Lastly, we apologize if you were confused by the building instructions and codes provided. We seldom have guests that are unable to access this information and apologize for any trouble this may have caused. We have recently streamlined our guest check-in process to make it easier for guests to access information and are working daily to improve this system. Please note that we are always available by text, phone and email to answer any questions you have and are more than happy to assist you in any way we can. Table adequate and nice to have stools for bar.Inadequate storage space for nonrefrigerated foods. Need to leave more empty space for renter.Master bathroom very tiny. If opened drawer at sink, then any person in commode/tub room was locked in. Had to be careful that completely closed the sink drawers.The staff was very pleasant and helpful. However, we were told in mid-month that the HOA was going to do maintenance on our deck which would take 5- 7 days. This would entail removing our deck furniture, placing scaffolding around deck and taping up deck. Since the deck almost doubled the living space this was very upsetting. I actually refused removal of the deck furniture. Glad I did as this maintenance never occurred. However, we were never informed that it had been delayed and were constantly concerned about it occurring. We had decided to leave if this maintenance was started and found the uncertainty stressful. The entire affair was mishandled and poorly communicated. If they are going to do extensive maintenance on a unit, this should be clearly defined prior to the unit being rented.

September 2023 Stay

This was our first time visiting the Destin area and we can’t wait to come back. That was in large part due to the rental property. There was so much to do very close by without having to drive anywhere and you’re right on the water. It’s really pretty too. The condo was clean and comfortable with a really big balcony. Actually somewhat nicer than the pictures. We will definitely be coming back.

Great place. Only concerns were the bed pillows. They were very flat and soiled. There were more in the closet but was soiled very badly as well. We just ran to WalMart and bought new ones for us to used. Room do get a little hot in the evening, and you can only keep the air at 70 degrees in June. Other than that great stay, great privacy balcony for a relaxing evening. We will stay again.
