Ideal for solo travelers or a pair of adventurers – our guest suite is perfect for those who want an affordable stay, while being close to the main attractions for their daily adventures. We are a 5-minute ride from trendy new restaurants and Phoenix city nightlife, 10 minutes from Sky harbor airport, and around the corner from Encanto Golf course. Our suite is equipped with the basics, 65" TV, WIFI, coffee maker, huge bed, hot shower, towels, bed linens, We provide shampoo & conditioner, but please bring your own bodywash if desired. We have A/C & heat, microwave, refrigerator and free parking. Outdoor garden area with view of the Spanish style fountain, and native succulents & cactus. We don't have a kitchen for cooking, but we are a quick drive to trendy new restaurants and Phoenix city nightlife. If you are looking for a safe, quiet, and comfortable place to come back to after your long day of exploring, this is it!

Guest access
Guests will have their own keys to both the back yard and guest house to come and go as they please. There is a private locked gate entrance to the back yard where guests can enjoy the outdoors. The guest house is located in the back yard, unattached to the main house fully private.

Other things to note:
Casa Papaya is located in downtown Phoenix. Being the fifth largest city in the United States, Phoenix has the typical metropolitan sounds, planes, trains, automobiles. Many of our guests have reviewed Casa Papaya as a quiet oasis from the surrounding hustle and bustle of the city, but we still choose to remind guests that they are not in a rural area. We love our city, and the local business and people that make it great and know you will too.

We try to keep our rates low for guests, and part of that is being energy conscious. We ask that guests turn up the AC whenever leaving the unit so that it is not running continuously while no one is home.

There are two skylights in the unit, one near the bed, and one over the kitchen. If you are a sleeper that is sensitive to light in the morning, you may want to bring a sleep mask.

Just like pictures. Close to everything we wanted to go to and more. Stephne was great gave us place to buy Mexican art! Loved it! Also sent us to Scottsdale to Retablo and guess what it was what we were looking for, we had been in that area many years ago and couldn't find it until Stephne recommend that shop. This was the perfect cozy little place to stay while jetting around Arizona! Comfortable and lovely!

Everything went perfectly with this stay. Easy check-in with the lock box, comfortable bed, beautifully decorated. I didn’t need a fancy place or a lot of extra amenities since I was doing so much, so this was perfect. Stephne was great with communication, too. Thank you so much! We had a quick trip to Phoenix. Our Verbo was centrally located to everything we chose to do. They had a resource book with food and activities, that was so thoughtful and well don’t for those that don’t know where or what to do. Our room was separate from the house and very comfortable! Would choose again if we come back to the area.

Stephne and Jon are great hosts, responded quickly to us and make check in very easy with our late arrival. The space was very comfortable! The only thing we didn’t have and appreciate at a VRBO is a way to cook. We made the best with the fridge and microwave. Thank you for being very attentive hosts.

Nice, cute place with comfortable looking courtyard. Accessing the lock box was difficult. Host accused us of violating the contract when our granddaughter helped us take in our luggage. A simple question to us would have negated the rather tasteless email they sent. We wouldn't rent from them again.

Kind Owners & Clean ideal location

The first thing I noticed when we arrived was how clean and fresh the suite was. It’s rare to find VRBO‘s that aren’t stale. This was not the case. The place was very well-kept. The location was ideal since we were travelling all over Arizona. The decor was well thought out, it was one of my favourite parts. My only gripe would be the WIFI was very poor, causing the smart tv to lag constantly, but we were patient and were able to watch some movies at night. We would love to stay here again when we’re back in Phoenix. The hosts were very kind, and weren’t overbearing, they were kind and respectful.

Quiet city retreat

Property is, as always, well kept and very clean, and away from the hustle and bustle of the city despite being within city limits. Stephne and Jon are wonderful hosts! This was my second time staying at Casa Papaya and I know I will be returning for future trips.

Jon and Stephne are Phoenix transplants who share a love of Phoenix, the state of Arizona, nature, food, fun, and each other. They moved into Casa Papaya in 2018 and began their Air BnB service with the intention of providing the best possible guest house for visitors to the Phoenix Valley.

Stephne is a native of Edmonton, Canada and an avid hockey fan. Having lived in Phoenix for over a dozen years, she is a local expert on things to do and places to go. She loves traveling to different countries, as well as frequenting her favorite local haunts in her adopted city of Phoenix. She also sings, plays piano, and does leather work.If you have questions about what to do during your stay in Phoenix beyond the contents of this welcome book, she is a perfect guide.

Jon is a native of Virginia who moved to Phoenix from Nicaragua in 2013 to complete his masters degree at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He loves traveling to emerging market countries, as well as day-trips to Northern Arizona during the hot summer months. In addition, he likes gardening, swimming pools, beer, juggling, and the Chicago Cubs.
