Make yourself at home in this charming cabin offering complete privacy nestled within the prestigious Diamond Hitch area of Moonlight Basin with direct ski access! With five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a spacious master suite just steps from the slopes, your large family, group or several smaller families – up to 12 guests – can enjoy this unique ski cabin. This up-to-date luxury home offers ski-in/ski-out access via a groomed trail just outside the mudroom to the slopes of Moonlight Basin with connections to Big Sky Resort, one of the largest ski resorts in the country. Unwind and relax at the end of the day in the 5 seater hot tub that backs up to a gorgeous lot of Aspen and Spruce trees and mountainous landscape. This home features hardwood floors throughout, massive wooden ceiling beams, and wood-carved doorframes and furnishings that emanate a luxurious ski-cabin vibe.

Main living spaces come to life with a stone-facade fireplace and comfy seating arrangement where you and your guests can relax and enjoy a wood-burning fire and sharing stories from the slopes. Stainless steel appliances and granite countertops will draw chefs and guests alike into this versatile kitchen and large dining table for intimate group dining. From the kitchen, walk directly out to the deck for easy access to the covered grill, even in the coldest of temperatures; or sit back and enjoy the serenity of the wilderness in the warmer months. Downstairs you’ll find another family room with a sprawling sectional sofa and flat screen, as well as a third Queen guest room. Perfect for your younger guests, an additional two rooms in the lower level are made up of multiple twin sized beds. When spring and summer roll around, the fun in Big Sky doesn’t stop. The surrounding Gallatin National Forest is an outdoor lovers paradise, with fly fishing, rafting, mountain biking, and golf right out the back door; and Yellowstone National Park just 50 miles down the road.

Moonlight Basin Ski Vacation

We have stayed at several homes at big Sky / Moonlight over the years and this was our favorite. The living room and kitchen area was perfect for our six adult children and their spouses and two toddlers.

Challenger House

Love staying in the Diamond Hitch area! Challenger House has excellent access. Ski in is a breeze. (right to the ski room door) Ski out to Pony Express is great... Ski out via Bozeman Trail to the base is also good, but a bit more challenging with small kids. This home is very clean, comfortable and well stocked. There was plenty of seating for dining as well as relaxing after a long day of skiing. (also plenty of room to store a weeks worth of groceries for 10 people) Mariusz is very responsive and informative. Would definitely stay here again.

SKI PARADISE

We loved and enjoyed so much the property that we cancelled all our restaurant reservations, and the 10 of us stayed in every night, cooking and dinning together in the kitchen area and terrace grill, while we witness some foxes patrolling around the house. All the boys (2x10 and 2x17) slept at the downstairs bunkbeds room, and they had a blast. It is a true ski in-ski out house but the path towards Pony Express is much friendlier than the catwalk to the base, especially for snowboarders. We were very lucky with the snow, and we even built a snow ramp in the back of the house and while the kids and teens (and some father) were practicing their jumping abilities the rest was enjoying the show drinking wine. Just make sure you rent a 4x4 car with the usual cold weather bell and whistles as it can be tricky to manage the house and neighborhood slopes.

Wonderful ski in/ski out stay

My family of five, plus my sister and brother-in-law, had a great stay for President's Day weekend. Ski access is terrific. There is a ski/mud room on the lower level with a boot and glove heater machine and plenty of storage for skis and gear. Walk 30 feet out the back door to Bozeman Trail, a green run, to ski and skate over to Mountain Village and catch Swift Current or Ramcharger lifts. Or take your first left off Bozeman Trail onto Twin Tunnels (another green) to ski over to Pony Express lift and ski the Moonlight side. Ski right to the back door for lunch or to end your day by heading down Blue Moon (a blue) to Bozeman Trail. Boot and glove heater takes six pairs of gloves and six pairs of boots--perfect for our group. House is very clean and well-appointed. Also, well stocked with spices, coffee filters, silverware, etc. Towels and bedding are nice and comfortable. Property manager/host Mariusz is responsive and met us at the house to answer questions. This property is truly "plug and play." Our only minor gripe was that the queen mattresses in the guest suites are very firm, and I usually prefer firm mattresses. I would suggest a 3" foam mattress pad topper to help accommodate a wider variety of sleepers (especially side sleepers!) for a better night's rest. We would stay here again if we returned to Big Sky, and we definitely plan to return in a few years. The resort is incredible, even on a busy holiday weekend.

Our family of intermediate and advanced skiers loved this location! It was convenient to the pony express and Challenger lifts. The traverse to the base made it really accessible! Mariusz was incredibly helpful and kind!

Best ski-in, ski-out location ever

This was my 4th time visiting Big Sky, this time with a group of 9 adults traveling to attend a conference at The Huntley Lodge. This is an annual “guys” ski trip we have been doing for almost 20 years and in that time I have never seen such ideal ski-in, ski-out access. The house was beautiful, extremely clean, and Mariusz was super responsive. I would highly recommend this property for any large group.

Perfect ski-in, ski-out house

The house is superb. Very well equipped, super comfy & cosy and the ski-in ski-out is unbeatable. Mariusz, the host, is great. Very quick response time, easy going and very helpful in all matters. Bear one thing in mind: you need a car! And if you are first timer to Big Sky: make your restaurant reservations well in advance.

Amazing and extremely helpful Hosts!

We spent 5 amazing nights in Big Sky! We checked into the beautiful property but it turned into a nightmare as we realized the bottom floor was flooding due to a septic backup. Although Mariusz was out of town his wife Klaudia was available immediately. What a kind person! They had the situation figured and we could not have expected a better outcome. They moved us the same night into beautiful condo which I might say was even better than the original house! Klaudia helped us with Everything including transporting our family and load of luggage! I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude for turning this catastrophe into a dream family get together. Mariusz was back the next time day to check on us and even sent a delicious bottle of champagne to celebrate my wife’s bday! Bottom line- bad things happen but the way You respond shows your character! The hosts responded like they were taking care of their family. They even refunded one nights stay for the inconvenience and mailed some of our favorite belongings we left behind. Thank you Mariusz And Klaudia! Till we meet again

Great home with incredible views

Wonderful stay. Home was large, comfortable, great cooking kitchen. Owner met us and talked through everything first day. Boot warmer was perfect and accommodated everyone. Ski in was very easy and convenient. Ski out had 3 options with easy ski down to pony express (mild poling), pole/skate to mountain village or hike up and ski down to challenger. All 3 provided options for various ski levels.

Amazing house!

This house is super nice. Directly on a ski run with easy access to two lifts. Super easy to ski in for lunch and get back out. Property manager is very responsive and lives just down the street. We all loved the dryer for mittens and ski boots in the ski/mud room. The views from living room and master bedroom are spectacular. Would stay here again.

Our favorite place in Big Sky!

My family of six has stayed here several times over the last decade and would never stay anywhere else. It is a perfect location: ski right out the back door— starts at Bozeman Trail and Twin Tunnels (green runs) and Pony Express lift. Ski back home on Fast Lane to Blue Moon (both Blue runs). The home has beds for up to 12 people, but also has several comfy couches. We often ski with another family and split the cost. It has a huge kitchen with appliances, a washer & dryer, mud room. The only negative is Hackamore Lane is typically very icy during ski season, and the driveway is slightly inclined, so bring a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Round our your trip by having Black Tie Ski Rentals deliver your rental equipment right to the house! A perfect ski vacation!!

"Only great things to say about the property and its manager, Mariusz. When we arrived, Mariusz showed us around the home and ensured we would be comfortable throughout our stay. The home was clean, well stocked, and provided all of the furnishings to ensure every member of our party could enjoy our down-time off the mountain (hot tub, board games, spacious common areas, well-appointed kitchen). They included things like garbage bags, ziplocs, laundry soap, etc that aren't always available when renting a home. The mudroom and ski-in/ski-out area are excellent. Mariusz gave excellent details on how to best access Big Sky's terrain from the house. His best tip by far was the suggested route to avoid a ton of flat ground traversing for the snowboarders in our group. One tip, be thoughtful if you are planning to rent a car during the winter season. Beyond the Big Sky lodge, the roads become more difficult to manage without a capable vehicle (AWD, all-weather tires). The driveway is also quite steep, I'm sure Mariusz would like to not make a habit of helping hopeless travelers get out of driveway (but seriously, thank you!)."

Top Notch Luxury Ski-In / Ski-Out Experience

My friends and I rotate ski destinations every year and this year was by far the best accommodations we've ever had! This place slept 12 of us comfortably with plenty of room to lounge, relax and unwind after long days on the slopes. Speaking of which, to get on the slopes, we literally opened the back door, popped on our skis and were off (no hassle of lugging gear, parking, walking to the slopes to/from each day was amazing). The house has been newly renovated and the owners spared no expense, which is obvious when you see the new 75+ inch TV in the basement entertainment center (which you can watch from the hot tub out back). The property manager, Mariusz, was very friendly and knowledgeable too. Cannot recommend this place enough. Stay here, you will be glad you did!

Fantastic property, great ski access

We absolutely loved staying at this house. First, the house itself is great. It is an extremely nice, luxurious property. It is big, well furnished, nicely decorated-- a real luxury home. We especially liked the two TV rooms, the Sonos to play our music, the ski room downstairs with a fantastic boot and glove drier and place to store all ski equipment at the end of the big day. And of course, we loved the hot tub. Second, the access to the mountain simply cannot be beat. My friends like to ski hard. Having simple access right out the back door to the bottom of the Challenger lift, so you can be first on upper parts of the mountain on a powder day, was phenomenal. And being able to ski down to the back door at the end of the day was great. Finally, the property manager Mariusz was super helpful, stopping by to welcome us and quickly responding whenever we had a question about anything. There is no question that if my group comes back to ski Big Sky again, we'll look to book this house.
