Rana Suite (Sleeps 2). Queen bed and Mayan decorations that make you feel you are right in the middle of Mexico while enjoying the luxuries of a relaxing vacation. The room opens to the pool, garden and BBQ area. It offers a private bathroom,AC, wifi, private lock, and private entrance, mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. It is the perfect place to relax and within walking distance to the beach and great restaurants.

La Hacienda provides a unique Mexican get-away, located one mile from downtown and the most popular beach, Playa Norte. Enjoy the luscious tropical garden and pool. Most people get around via bicycles, taxis or golf carts. The house is located at the beginning of the safe and charming neighborhood, Salina Chica, where you will find restaurants, tennis court, basketball court, and grocery stores with fresh fruits and vegetables, all within walking distance. You can catch a taxi right in front of the house to go downtown and to the beach. The house is very private, yet just a 5 minute taxi ride from downtown where you will find all the shops, restaurants, bars and live music.

Great stay!

Beautiful

Absolutely loved our stay! Place was clean, well maintained, and all around beautiful! Karen was very nice and gave us some recommendations on where to visit. We are coming back next year and will be booking with Karen again!

Great spot!

La Hacienda was a great spot for our 4 night stay on Isla. Playa Norte has a lot going on so getting a bit away was ideal. It’s a short bike ride and having free bikes to use was a huge bonus. The pool was clean and refreshing.

This place is awesome.

Karen was very kind and hospitable. She has bikes you can use to explore the island. She made sure we had everything we needed in the room and gave us some good suggestions for things to do in the area. I feel like for the price we got a great value and a memorable experience.

Adult getaway to Isla

La Hacienda by Karen was the cutest, quaintest, neatest little place. Nice little private pool and rooftop area to also lounge around at. Karen was very helpful and was a pleasure to stay with. Her place was centrally located as well. Would stay with at her place again and would recommend.

Comfortable Quiet Oasis

After spending a day at the beach its great to open the gate at this property and walk back to your room and enjoy the oasis of Karen’s pool area. Karen is always available if you have any questions about activities or restaurants etc. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will be back to this property.

Great location for a local tour!

Perfect place for staying for a short or long trip. Local restaurants and beaches not too far away. Loved having the pool right outside my door! And having a bike to ride around, makes it much easier! Karen was super helpful and easy to catch up with when arriving. Overall, a great experience!

Enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our nine nights at Casa Hacienda. Karen and her pups were very welcoming. It was nice to drink our morning coffee by the pool. And wait for her girls to come say good morning. We were within walking distance of several places to eat. We took a taxi to town daily. And never had to wait long for one to come by. Karen’s place is simple, affordable and it met all our needs.

Great place

La Hacienda is a great place to stay for a few days or like us 3 weeks. Karen is absolutely amazing. She will give you tons of pointers and is always there when you need somthing. A wonderful host. My only complaint is i didnt get to see her when we left. Will miss you, your 3 lovely dogs, and most important, making me feel at home. Margrit amd Doug.

Quick getaway spot at a great rate

Nice 1 week vacation to Isla with family and friends. Nice little spot to spend some freshening up time and to crash for the nights. I Would have stayed longer but had a commitment in the states. Our friends stayed an extra few days with no problems! Thanks for the hospitality Karen. Keep those puppies safe!

Nine nights at La Hacienda

Very nice courtyard setting with pool. Room was moderate size with firm, comfortable bed. Central location was perfect for getting to both ends of the island. Host Karen Davis ensured we had everything needed for our stay and was readily available should assistance be needed. She was a conscientious host who provided many suggestions for restaurants, shopping, etc. Overall, felt her accommodations were a very good value in terms of location, amenities, and cost.

Nice for a short stay

We stayed 2 nights in Isla and this B&B worked well for us. Nothing fancy, which is totally fine by us, but I felt it was pretty pricy for what you get. I didn't personally see Karen but she was kind and helpful though messages and accommodated our late- night check in which was very nice! Felt safe and quaint. Thank you!

Perfection

We absolutely loved our stay. It was comfortable, and proximity was perfect. We took cabs the first day then decided on renting a golf cart. Karen has her recommendations in the book which is super helpful. We went with Cirros. Great prices. Karen is AMAZING and very quick to answer any and all questions. The pool was a bonus that we did enjoy! The property is very safe and is locked by you as you come and go. I especially enjoyed my coffee (GREAT COFFEE) up on the roof in the mornings. I urge you to go to the the grocery store and get some breads and anything you need. Even souvenirs. Thanks to Karen a super host!

Slice of Paradise

The property was just as it was advertised. Karen was a fabulous host. Because of her recommendations, we ate very well and spent many days on some amazing beaches. We even rode her free bikes one day. Big grocery store within walking distance, good restaurants nearby and a super fun atmosphere of dining, music and shops on this main corridor thru downtown. We ended up renting a golf cart about our 3rd day, and we kind of wish we'd done if from the start. All in all, very relaxing week. Thanks Karen!

Wonderful experience

Came in on a Thursday and Karen greeted us with her wonderful dogs and gave us all kinds of information about the room, area, recommendations, and just made our visit to the Isla wonderful. She was quick to respond and exceptionally accommodating (we caught rain on the morning of our check-out with a late flight and offered to hold our bags until later, even able to give us a couple extra hours since we weren’t prepared for rain). The location is central with a 100 peso taxi ride anywhere on the Isla, very easy to get a taxi on the street. Great local spots to grab food when the restaurants are closed (don’t be hesitant to try the little house restaurants, the food is aMAzing). Will definitely return!

Cute property with easy access to everything on the island!

Karen was SO wonderful. There were a few maintenance things, but she took care of everything promptly! The bed was comfy, AC worked great, beautiful rooftop patio with lots of places to sit and relax. The property overall had some real charm! Tiny thing - No full-length mirror in the room so you can't see what you look like before going out for a fancy night but other than that, it was a wonderful vacation. I was on my own and felt like everything was easy access. You get a much better feel for the actual island and its people when you don't stay right in the tourist hub. I would recommend!

Karen is the best host EVER! I truly cannot say enough good things about this wonderful human being. She is kind, thoughtful, hard working and provides a beautiful stay. We enjoyed 10 days with her and we will always remember this special trip. We have travelled extensively, and I can honestly say that you will not find anyone on the planet better than Karen. We loved her sweet, and very well behaved dogs as well. They are adorable! The location is excellent. We used her bikes daily as the island is not so big. What a great bonus! We loved that this was such a cozy and quiet place to retreat to. We loved exploring the island during the day, and were so happy to come back to a quiet and cozy place to spend our evenings. Karen is EXCELLENT in making sure you have everything that you need. The bar fridge was nice and cold, and the coffee maker was excellent to provide our caffeine boost in the mornings. We will never forget the kindness and attentiveness that Karen provided. Thank you again, Karen! what a magnificent vacation!

DISAPPOINTING RENTAL

Owner Karen is a pleasant women with three friendly dogs that relieve themselves at or on the pool deck. We were not there but a few minutes and the dogs relieved themselves right in front of us ultimately getting washed down by the owner with a bucket of water which eventually could run into the pool🤔. You would think the dogs would have an area of their own to use as a toilet, not the paying guest area?? The suite is smaller, dark and in need of upgrade (smaller than the photos present ). The neighbouring roosters start crowing around 4:00 a.m., so not alot of sleep, no pool time! Notice was given 2/7 days in with the owner, she said that their was no refunds with VRBO properties. First time with VRBO properties and we would give them a failing grade to the point that they should be investigated as an international Company. We truly hope that this comment is posted for vacationers to see. Ps… the laundry facility on this property was something to see !!!

The Perfect Bungalow

My stay at Karen’s home was nothing short of perfect. The space is so welcoming and clean and just really feels like home. The location is on a Main Street but once you’re through the gates, you’d have no idea. I could’ve spent a whole day just relaxing by her pool area! Karen was so helpful in providing suggestions for my time on the island and was so kind. You really can’t go wrong staying here!

I am Texas born and bred with Austin having been my home for the past 30 years. I grew up in a small town in East Texas where my family has a ranch. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University and St. Edwards University. I was a therapist for children in foster care, owner of grocery stores for low income women, and flipped houses. I've always been an entrepreneur and was excited about a new challenge.

Why they chose this property

My first remarkable visit to Isla Mujeres was 25 years ago and I fell in love with the magic of the Island of Women. Relaxation washed over me as I stepped onto the ferry transporting me to this Caribbean paradise. I knew immediately that one day this island, that is steeped in a rich Mexican culture, would become my home. After many years, research and visits, in November 2016, I discovered the perfect home in the colonia Salina Chica. I knew La Hacienda would make a lovely beautique hotel, offering serenity and privacy for my guests along with space for me and my 2 standard poodles to live. I fell in love as soon as I walked in the front door. The same feeling I had on the first ferry ride 25 years ago.

My wish is to share with you the beauty and tranquility of La Hacienda on Isla Mujeres. Please visit us soon.
