About this property

Great Trinity River Fishing at 3 Bed 2 Bath House, pets considered

Come to a relaxing mountain setting with a sweeping view across a peaceful meadow, just a short walk across the fields from the Trinity River. The riverfront property is at the end of a quiet country road, located just ten miles south of historic Gold Rush Town of Weaverville.

The Ranch is a great place to visit in all seasons of the year! Your family can enjoy time together, with each person choosing their own level of activity, whether it be fishing, boating, birdwatching, walking, gold-panning, or reading. A good spot from which to take trips to the nearby Trinity Alps, Lewiston or Trinity Lakes, or just stick close to the Ranch, the river, and the quiet. Mt. Shasta is to the northeast, Eureka on the coast and a beautiful road trip to the west, Mt. Lassen to the east. The town of Weaverville has some good restaurants, a museum & various historical gold mining sites.

The fishing is great, the peacefulness complete, and there's no traffic!

Enjoyed our stay they had everything we needed in the kitchen.. the place was nice quiet internet hit or miss.. it was nice not having it so didn’t care was still able to make and receive calls. The walk to the river was about 4 min they have a path carved out to walk on. Dear are everywhere, and a few horses. Once at the river they have chairs in the shade set up. You have you very own private are to fish. We enjoyed our stay it was a nice place.

Absolutely wonderful accommodations in a beautiful setting. Enjoyed fishing the Trinity just 200 yards from the house. House is older but well taken care of and clean, with everything you need. We'd stay longer if we could.

Excellent location to Trinity, gorgeous surroundings and comfortable for family of 4.
We planned a family get away for Dad who is an avid fisherman and wanted to go steelhead fishing with “his ladies”. I found this location which turned out to be the perfect spot for us and our two daughters. We spent part of our time on the Trinity that was walkable from the house. Gorgeous area! We also did a guided boat ride on Sunday landing several fish. The owners were easy to communicate with, the house is well stocked with all necessary amenities, the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet and peaceful. We will dry be back for another trip. Highly recommended.

Great place for a quick break!
Unique property with vast area and amazing river access! Great for fishing, swimming or just relaxing by the river. It was 110F during our trip, but we remained cool because of excellent cooling in the house and also the cold river water. Would love to come back some day.

Great place to get away!
We greatly enjoyed our time at the Arttus Ranch property! Daily visits from the local deer, beautiful wild trout on the end of my line and refreshing dips in the Trinity River....all while on your own private beach! Dennis and Lorrie were great hosts, even getting out to the property in less than an hour to fix an unanticipated issue with the AC....which was GREATLY appreciated with the triple-digit heat! This trip was exactly what we were looking for, and I would absolutely recommend Dennis & Lorrie for their great customer service....THANK YOU!

Great place out in the country!
Great place to stay. So peaceful and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the swamp cooler did a great job at keeping it cool during the day. At night the temperatures were low enough that we could just keep the windows open and enjoy the breeze. We loved it!

Excellent River Access, Quiet Location, Great Layout
House was perfect for our two families. My husband, newborn daughter, dog, and I all slept in the master bedroom with bathroom. Our friends with their 5-year old daughter slept in the back two bedrooms with their own bathroom. The rooms were separated by the kitchen and mudroom, so it felt very spacious and private for the week stay. We enjoyed the fire place and games together in the living room. There are lots of great fishing holes nearby within walking or driving distance. We enjoyed the wintery weather and being cozy inside together. The hosts were excellent in reaching out to us proactively with information and being available for questions. We would love to stay here again.

2nd visit, good time had by all
Great location, great house, great hosts. Communication is very good. Far enough off the beaten path to be quiet and feel remote, but close enough to town to not take too long to shops, stores & restaurants. Fishing access is walkable close and worth bringing a pole. Will be back, and it’s highly recommended.

Quiet and practical
I’ve stayed many times at this cabin and for good reason: it is in a great location for exploring the Trinity Alps, clean, and has everything I need for spending a relaxing weekend. The only sounds you’ll hear are nature related. The owners are also very helpful and nice.

About the host

Hosted by Dennis Arttus & Lorrie Gallagher

Dennis has long enjoyed the Trinity Alps area for it's solitude, quiet, great hiking spots, gold-panning, lack of traffic, and weather. Lorrie enjoys it for the river and lake swimming, kayaking, and bird-watching. We have a house outside of Weaverville

Why they chose this property

Remote, quiet, no traffic, Trinity Alps are a relatively unknown gem compared to Tahoe or Yosemite.

What makes this property unique

benefits of the ranch are the quiet, night stars, great view of a mountain valley, direct access to the Trinity River, easy drive to the historic town of Weaverville.
