Very peaceful

We had a wonderful stay here! The views are just beautiful. Sunrise from the ocean front back deck and sunset from the front porch. The private community has a really nice pool area with beautiful views of the marshes. Hunting island state park is just a few mins drive and Beaufort is only about 20 mins away. My only complaint is that the house might possibly have some mold or maybe it’s something in the carpet. We had some allergy issues when inside. The carpet definitely needs to be removed. Other than that our stay was perfect!

We had mild, maintenance came and confirmed and bleached it, put air purifier… but needs to be treated… home was not clean… had someone come back but she was there only about 10 minutes and left… I had to clean while there .. was offered another home but on marsh and not beach which is what I paid for.. will never go back there

Great time!

We love the location of this house and island. This is our second time to Harbor Island and it was wonderful. Long walks on the beach and watching the dolphins nightly were again enjoyable as well as the beautiful sunrises. The short drive for day trips to Charleston, Savannah and Hilton Head can't be beat. The house was roomy and comfy. The stove needs to be addressed yet, as it is still a guessing game for the knobs on the stove.

Thanks for posting a review of the property and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. The housekeepers called the office when the home was ready and they indicated you were checking in early as they were leaving which is why you did not receive a call back. We hope to have you stay with us again on your next visit to the area.

Almost perfect

Almost perfect, we’ve been to Aruba and will never go back because here is far better. The only issue that should be remedied, is better maintenance and repair. Considering the nightly fee, some investment should be made in this area.

Beautiful Location, Filthy House

Towels in dryer upon arrival. Spider webs and various spiders, cockroaches, other bugs all over the house. House filled with mosquitoes and flies. Disgusting. Cabinets stained and filthy. Vacuum cleaner broken. Floors dirty and stained. Grill filthy! Thankful that we brought our own! Mattresses and all the furniture were old and broken down with stains. Incredibly uncomfortable. Various objects and trash we're found Under all furniture. Which means it wasn't cleaned!! The appliances all need to be upgraded. We did have a bathroom and trash issue arise and it was taken care of immediately.

We were shocked when you reported these issues upon check-in and offered to send housekeeping back to finish cleaning and understand with Covid why you did not want them to return. Regardless the property should have not been left in this condition. We have since changed housekeeping services and performed a deep clean. We are in the process of upgrading the appliances and bedding after the summer.

Wonderful memories

It was during covid and three generations gathered here for an amazing week. The location and views were wonderful. We took the short trip to hunting island but could have spend all day at our own private beach and been just as happy. No chains, no fuss just relaxing good time.

Overall we enjoyed our stay!

The house is a perfect location to enjoy te beach or walk/ride to the pool. The kids loved looking for alligators and crabs. The house was well supplied. Our only complaint was that it was a little dirty upon our arrival and had a few bugs during the week. The top plugs didn't work in most outlets either, but nothing that would keep us from coming back! The rental company was always in communication and easy to get ahold of.

Great location

Property location is perfect and the view is beautiful. It had everything we needed and a great layout but it could be cleaner and definitely needs some sprucing if not updating. Water is extremely calm which worked for us as we have very young children but if your kids are older and wanting to boogey board it’s not the best beach for that.

Beautiful home, spectacular location. Needs some kitchen repair.

Overall, our stay at this home was spectacular. I would certainly book the home again, even if no recommended improvements were made. You cannot beat the location right on the water. It sits next to an empty lot on the right which provides more privacy. The home was definitely large enough for our group of 5. The "public access" walkway was connected to the home on the left. The public traffic was light in this area which was really nice. The water was warm and gentle. We loved watching the shrimp boats troll every morning followed by the dolphin. We anchored a raft to the inlet floor during low tide in the morning so we had something to float on when the tide came in. This was really nice as we didn't have to deal with being swept with the tide. The home was adequately stocked with kitchenware and linens. The windows are certainly very effective and the air conditioning stayed very cool and constant. There was ample seating for a group of 5 in the living room; however, a larger group would have been quite cozy with each other. We really enjoyed the deck seating. We spent a large amount of time outdoors. We got much use of the fly swatter and electric bug racket. We made use of the grill and the corn hole set. There were a couple of improvements we would recommend. The most important one being the stove. All of the dials are now missing the cook settings. You don't know which dial goes to which burner and if you are using the full burner or the inner circle, or if you have the burner on high or low. This required some trial-and-error which was quite annoying. The oven also does not heat properly which also required trial-and-error. The thermometer in the oven is inaccurate as well. Also, the dishwasher falls out of the cabinet when opening the door when it's fully loaded and the refrigerator door slams open in to the wall. It was great to have an extra frig; however, it was filthy when we arrived and had to be cleaned before use. The cold water from the kitchen faucet was never really cold and the ice maker didn't work properly. Also, the cold water handle on the wet-bar sink moved in both directions. Finally, being dog owners on an obviously dog-friendly beach, we would have loved to have had the opportunity to bring our dogs. The check-in process at the gate was simple and fast; however, there were no check-out instructions. Hopefully we left the home in the desired state. The key was easily located.

Negative Experience

The house was very dirty, none of the apparatus to cleaned worked in the house. The dryer was hit or miss ( didn’t work) the rails were loose on the balcony. Kitchen items were dirty . Shower floors were dirty , the ceiling fans were full of dust. Dead bugs and spiders were on the walls. Will not return or recommend . Trash was not picked up on time. Ms. Doris in the office was very nice .

If you ever have issues upon arrival please let us know. The housekeepers were not finished cleaning when you checked in. She. You spoke to Doris you stated you would rather checkin early and not have the housekeepers come back to finish.
