We appreciated the great communication and availability of the host. The lake campfire and board games were the favorite parts of the stay. The house was very nice and comfortable.
This cabin lived up to its description, absolutely peaceful location! We loved how close it was to Mackinaw City and Island! I loved sitting outside on the deck to watch the sunsets, read, drink coffee, or enjoy a meal. Perfect size for me and my husband and two young adult children. Thank you!
This was a nice cabin. Loved all the supplies they left. There was plenty of paper supplies for the bathrooms and paper towels. They have thought of everything.
The cabin was beautiful and the location was great. Close enough to areas like Cheboygan and Mackinac but tucked away from the tourist-y areas in a very peaceful setting. We met one of the neighbors and they were great and very welcoming. We caught a lot of fish in the lake. The cabin had everything we could have needed, more than any other rental I've ever stayed in. They thought of everything! The hosts were great and welcoming and wanted to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect for my 3 and 1 year old boys, they had a blast and my 3 year old did not want to leave!
This was me and my husband’s second time coming to this cabin, and we absolutely love it. The lake is so quiet and peaceful, and it has the best sunset/sunrises. Hoping to make this our annual fall trip.
It was a lovely location about 15min from Mackinaw City. We spent the first day on Mackinac, but the next day it was pouring rain and cold. The cabin was so cozy and well-stocked with games, a simple, easy-to-manage tv setup, lots of great dvds, and a great puzzle table facing the lake. It was perfect for relaxing on a rainy day. They have a nice fire pit and dock, and a neighbor offered us his fishing pole and extra grubs so my kids could try out catfishing. The kitchen was well-thought out and even had decent knives, something I’ve come to expect will be crummy at rentals; I usually bring one of mine from home. The pics were accurate to what we stepped into. The host communicated quickly with any issues we had, and was very accommodating, and we really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave!
Loved the property. The cabin was very cozy, spacious and clean. The deck space was amazing, and where we spent most of our time. Also, a quick drive to Mackinac (about 15 min) which was great!!
It was a beautiful setting and a perfect base for our outings to Mackinaw and Cheboygan! The cabin was extremely clean and cozy!! I felt it was even better than the pictures in the listing! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return sometime next summer for a longer stay and hopefully better weather to enjoy the lake and some boating!!
The lily pad was very relaxing! We really enjoyed the cabin and the atmosphere. Veronica, the host wast very easy to ask questions to and very quick to respond! The property was very clean and overall quiet. Tons of games and activities to be able to do or just relaxing on the deck. We definitely want to come back.
I'm so happy we chose this cabin for our vacation to North Michigan. It was very clean, comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. We spent some time fishing everyday off the dock and enjoyed the kayaks and canoe which were provided. Witnessed one of the most beautiful, colorful sunsets I've ever seen over the lake one evening. It was an easy drive to Cheboygan to purchase any supplies we needed. I would consider booking here again in the future.
This was a well laid out and equipped cabin right on a nice lake with kayaks, a canoe and row boat. We had a blast hanging out and unplugging for a week!! Close to the UP and many cool partial day outings. It did not have a dishwasher and air conditioning but it was cool enough at nights to get things comfortable when it was warm inside during the afternoon/evenings. Over all a wonderful stay, so many memories made including the first fish caught for my boys!

Ok stay
Bathrooms are small, the hammock outside was the neighbors. It has only one big bed and three very tiny beds upstairs. Neighbors houses was way to close, not very secluded. Otherwise decent little place. I would not stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. The three beds in our upstairs bedroom are in fact single beds, as indicated in our property description. The bathrooms are on the smaller side as is typical of many cabins, but we have not had complaints about them in the past. Our closest neighbor ’s house sits more than 50 feet from our cabin. The neighbor on the other side is further away. That property is separated from ours by trees. We have more than 150 feet of lakefront.
This cabin is spectacular! What you see in these photos are exactly what you get. We arrived (family of 4) and almost immediately got on the water with a few SUP boards that we brought with us. The lake is a good sized lake. Maybe half a dozen or so residents on the lake but spaced out enough where you're not on top of one another. We didn't use the guesthouse, or the fire pit while we were there. The beds were cozy. The kitchen was perfectly sized where it didn't take up half of the living area. Beautiful sunsets across the lake with a small family of loons on the water. THe fishing was fun. Pan fish off the dock. You're about 20 minutes to Mackinaw City. So expect to drive a distance for groceries, gas, wine, etc. But that's what we were looking for! Off the grid, peace and quiet. Getting a signal is a little spotty we came to realize in most of upper MI and the UP. The best signal we go was in the middle of the lake. Nights were filled with chess, puzzles, and a large selection of family friendly movies (all provided). Veronica was a pleasure to work with. She would respond to all messages within 5-10 minutes max. The place is pretty easy to find. The cabin is gorgeous! The lake is wonderful. Not much of a beach, but jumping off the dock and swimming alongside the paddle boards was a blast. The had a couple of cane poles you can use in the garage. We picked up a visitor's fishing license in town. If you're looking for quite comfort, you've found it!
Great place, looks exactly like the listing. Spent our days traveling around the area, nights playing games in the quiet without interruption of tv or internet! Comfy bed and very clean. Would definitely recommend!
The Lillypad was a great leaping off point to Mackinac Island and pictured rocks up in the UP. Was a wonderful little house and small guest cottage that fit us perfectly was very clean had all the amenities you would need for cooking and such and the lake was nice to especially with the provided kayaks and canoes for use. There is also a wonderful fire pit with plenty of wood for use. Veronica was great to work with, responded fast, and was very kind. Wi-Fi would be the only addition I would suggest due to the very spotty cell service in that area even for Verizon which I was typically only on one bar most of the time. We had a great time and would highly recommend!
We couldn't have asked for a better cottage for our stay. It's a nice quiet location and we loved listening to the loons in the morning and evenings. The house offered the perfect accommodations and was well furnished, clean and well stocked. Thank you to the Wright's for a great stay!
The pictures really don’t do this place justice! The cabin is super cute and very spacious. Then you go outside and you have the best view of the lake! My family and I enjoyed spending lots of time outside fishing and just enjoying the peacefulness. And only 20 minutes from the ferry to Mackinac Island! 10/10 recommend! Thank you Veronica!

About the host
Hosted by Veronica Wright
Hello! Welcome to The Lancaster Water Lily -- we purchased the property in 2018 and have enjoyed sharing this lovely place with many families and a truly wonderful northern Michigan experience.
I (Veronica) was born and raised in the Detroit area. I graduated from Grosse Pointe South High and attended MSU. My husband, Randy, and I met while counselors at Camp Walden - just a few minutes SE of Cheboygan.
We now live in Omaha, Nebraska. Randy is an attorney. I taught school and stayed home with our four children. They're all grown and married now and we have 7 grandchildren.
Why they chose this property
We had always wanted to have a cottage and northern Michigan holds special memories for us. We love sharing this special place with you. Our hope is that your family will find that a stay at the Water Lily will bring your family together in a new and relaxing environment. Enjoy the time together to play games, use the boats and see the many sites northern Michigan offers.
What makes this property unique
The Lancaster Water Lily has a special, quintessential cabin feel. Completely made of rough hewn logs, it boasts a rock fireplace and vaulted ceilings that add loads of charm. It is comfortable yet rustic. The lake views are inspiring and peaceful, the feeling is uniquely Michigan. You won't find a better place to vacation.
Welcome to Northern Michigan! Randy and Veronica Wright
