Wonderful home situated on the marsh with incredible views of wildlife and acres of marshland viewable from the living room or deck. Excellent views of Bald Head Creek all the way to Cape Fear River. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and crabbing with the kids right off the private neighborhood dock connected to the home by a boardwalk. The home features an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, wine refrigerator and granite counter tops. New en suite bathroom for 2015! New expanded deck (2016) facing the marsh with wrought iron table, 6 chairs and umbrella. New hardwood flooring installed throughout the home in 2018.
A tandem kayak and 2 individual kayaks are available to kayak on the marsh directly behind the house.
It's an easy walk to the marina, restaurants and Old Baldy. The grocery store is a quick drive by golf cart. Several beaches are easily accessible by golf cart. Swimming pool and dining are available with a Bald Head Island Club membership. (Separate fee charged by BHI club) NO GOLF

The location on BHI is amazing - great deck with marsh view. Access to kayaks was wonderful. We have stayed on BHI many times and this was one of our favorite houses. Plenty of room and great main space and deck for puzzling and hanging out

Great house for family vacation

Great location close to lighthouse and marina area, enjoyed the marsh view and community dock. The large round dining table and living room sitting area was comfortable for everyone to hang out. Thankfully, everything was in great shape after Hurricane Ian just passing through.

Property was a great location. Bring what you’ll need like laundry detergent as we didn’t have but one pod to start the towels that was required. However this was a great place after the carts got Fixed, recharged & we could see better to drive at night

Fantastic rental

Can't say much beyond the other reviews. Really great rental on the marsh with a wonderful view from the back deck; I spent most my time out here enjoying the view. I highly recommend.

First time in Lighthouse Landing

We've stayed in a lot of places on BHI but this may be our new go to home. This is a strange thing to praise but it's the first time we've never had an issue with a golf cart...or both carts on a trip. That said, we had no issues at all and everyone had a fabulous time.

Family staycation

Enjoyed once again another fun trip to Bald Head Island. The place was great. My only complaint would be the cleanliness. I noticed some cobwebs in the main living areas and there were gnats flying around along with two roaches we killed and one already dead (so 3 total). It didn’t stop us from enjoying our little vacation though and we would come back. (This is our second time Staying at this location. )

We are on a monthly pest control program for the bugs on island. We would have been more than happy to come over and do another sweep thru. We are on island 24/7 and have an emergency line. We do touch base during arrival and did not hear from you on these issues. We are happy you enjoyed your stay otherwise and hope you can come back for the future.

Fantastic first trip to Bald Head

Nice house and great location for access to the marsh. BHI Services was great in attending to the issues. The four seat golf cart definitely needs replacing, but we were accommodated with a rental. The kayaks could stand replacing too since they are advertised as a feature. Cleanliness was not up to standard, but we realize that service industries are are critically short staffed right now. We were able to deal with necessary issues and didn't let them hinder our great time at a great location. We really did enjoy the house and it's view of the marsh. The deck is a perfect place to start and end lovely days!

It's OK, but...

The unknown stuff on the pillowcases or bed sheet that caused skin irritation and red spots. Too much detergent residue? Needs maintenance, like window shade cord that won't adjust, shampoo not provided, small things, but for vocational rentals they should be there.

We wash all of our linens with a simple fabric detergent. We would have been happy to come over and assist with new linens to see if that would have helped your allergies. We will take a look at the window shade cord. We have it stated in our contract that we do not provide shampoo and conditioner. We have a starter pack of many other items to help during your stay including detergents, toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap and all linens. We never heard from you during your stay and we would have loved the opportunity to help.

We have been coming to Bald Head for 30 years and have rented many houses, all with ocean views. We decided to rent 11 Lighthouse Landing because of the configuration and because we could bring our dog, but we anticipated " settling" as far as view. We were very wrong. The view is spectacular over the marsh and looking toward the harbor. We all agreed we preferred it to the ocean view. The house itself is lovely, well equipped, and well maintained. Beds are very comfortable. Location is great- close to harbor, club, lighthouse and within easy drive to ocean. We were a multigenerational group- grandparents, young parents and a toddler. The configuration of the house was perfect. The toddler could nap on the third floor while we hung out on the main floor with no worry of waking him. We will certainly rent this house again!

minor problems

There were a few minor difficulties nothing major. First the thermostat was locked, and the house was on the cool side. BHI had to contact the owner to unlock the thermostat. that only took a couple of hours. Then we took a golf cart to the beach which died on the way. It did manage to get a couple of miles from the house. Just a short walk back to retrieve the other one. Sorry to say was not any better. We were given a loaner which also died a couple of miles from the house and had to be left by the side of the rode also. Once we worked thru that everything else was very enjoyable.

11 Lighthouse Landing unsatisfactory

Have stayed in this property previously with no issues Nov. 2019. This visit however noted upstairs bedroom with shower curtain mold and Master shower were moldy on arrival, stale mold smell upstairs, coffee pot filthy with residue, floor dirty with dust/hair, refrigerator dirty on check in, light bulbs out kitchen and bedroom, one golf cart with no functioning headlights, bed linens disheveled in twin bedroom underneath dirty white bedspreads at check in, pillow yellow when pillow case removed, glass pitcher with broken sharp edges in kitchen pantry, totally dissatisfied for this second visit to this property. It does have a great location and view which is why our family rented to be close to wedding chapel. We will NOT rent this property again NOR use this same management team. Mangement was notified of several issues at checkin. Pictures taken of the issues identified. I request our rental fee be refunded.

We do apologize for these cleaning issues, we sent staff within an hour of your check in to handle all items. We also refunded your cleaning fee the next morning for this inconvenience. You came into our office to inform us of a mildew smell on the last day of your stay and specifically told us that you did not want a refund but wanted to make us aware of this. We did a walk thru of this home immediately after your departure and no mold or mildew was found. Had we had known you were dissatisfied with the home during your stay, we would have been more than happy to move you to another location. We have an emergency after hours line with out office and emails open daily for communication. We stive to make sure all of our customers are happy and well taken care of and wish we would have had the opportunity to help during your stay.

Family fun

Had a great time and lots of stuff for the kids. Fish, kayaked, crabbed and explored the marsh daily. Three beaches to choose from and always could find ideal conditions. BHI conservancy had lots of excursions but they book up quickly and wish we would have reserved some earlier! I would visit and stay there again!

Frustrating

Arrived at 4:30(check in is anytime after 4)… Housekeeing still there… towels still being washed. Dirty dishes in dishwasher… stated owners didn’t leave on time…so yeah, I got to do the cleaning. Golf cart plug frayed—no lights on the golf cart. Very very dangerous. Check out is supposed to be 10am.. Housekeeping showed up at 9:30 and asked us to Leave so they could start early…. What the heck?? Island is no longer quiet…. There are literal trucks and construction all over. Bald heaD club… impossible to get to pool. Sadly what has been Relax and safe place for many years has become completely overrun, oversold the grocery store is literally picked over and a quagmire .

Unfortunately we had a delay in cleaning due to a later check and tram delays, which we cannot control. You called our office upon your arrival about some towels in the dryer and clean dishes in the dishwasher. We offered to send someone immediately, which was refused. We also sent maintenance by immediately to handle the golf cart which was repaired. Housekeeping did arrive at 9:30 as they saw you and all your belongings packed and ready to be picked up by the tram. We apologize they arrived before 10am. We would never ask anyone to leave prior to check out time. The clubs, grocery store as well as many places on the island have their struggles with covid regulations in place. The island is doing the best it can in today's enviroment.
