The property and location is simply amazing. My family and friends truly enjoyed the stay. It was a great launching point for my Sons first BWCA trip and provided a great place for daily entertaining. I fully expect to make another reservation. Thank you for the hospitality.
I can't say enough positives about this property. Absolutely perfect for the nine of us; adults and children (9yrs-18yrs). Cassidy and Matt were there WHENEVER needed to help and make our stay as wonderful as possible! Saw amazing wildlife, enjoyed the lake and the views. We will be back!
Incredible weekend in my favorite area in the world
Had a low key weekend here with 10 of my best friends and it exceeded my expectations by a long shot! The cabin is beautiful and has an amazing view. Can be a bit crammed at the max group size but in addition to the beds upstairs, there are comfortable pullout couches and cots and plenty of space! Highly recommend swimming off the dock or bringing bags/cornhole and playing on the spacious deck.

Great stay on Lake Saganaga!
Beautiful cabin on a lovely spot overlooking the Lake! Caught fish(ate them) and hunted for grouse(ate them). Well equipped and attentive staff for our needs. Thanks! Four stars because we had some trouble with the water heater. They are going to address that issue.
6 adults stayed to enjoy fishing on Sag and not worry about getting day use motor permits. it was a great cabin that has been updated. amazing views from the porch.
The host, Jessica, was very helpful and responsive.
Instructions on the cabin need to be updated. You do not need to take your garbage with you as listed. This was a bit of a shock because our car was loaded full and we would not have had room. Again Jessica took care of it without any issues.
Just a reminder that if you are going to fish and be exempt from the motor permit, you need to stop at the Grand Marias Ranger station before helping to the cabin.
Great place and would definitely stay there again.
This beautiful home is on a hill overlooking the lake with easy access down to the dock for canoeing and fishing. It was a perfect place for our family vacation.
Our family enjoyed the rustic charm of an updated cabin, a tremendous view, and a great way to be together with all the comforts of home in the beauty of nature. This was time and money well spent!
Becca and Robert's top of the trail cabin was the perfect mix of rustic views and modern comforts. The cabin sits atop a hill outlooking a lake which the pictures on the website don't do justice. The location was perfect for six professionals to disconnect from their work and just enjoy a weekend together. The directions are very clear for how to arrive to the cabin though it is a bit of a trek to approach which is no fault of the owners. Becca was very responsive to questions and issues that arose during out stay and they left clear, simple instructions for a no contact check out from the property.
This is an excellent location for a group of friends or a pair of couples to visit and get away for however long they need.
We had a great experience in the north woods! Easy to get to, right off the gun flint trail. The host reached out via text a few days before arrival and communicated well with us. Great views from the house and deck. Very clear lake and warm water for September! Good fishing too. Modern amenities in the house!
Two dials on the stovetop were broken.
Great location, great house, good communication with manager - appliances not in good condition, cleanliness in kitchen could have been better. Family had a great time
Great stay and awesome location. The cabin was great but things seemed to need a little TLC. Also, there are only two actual bedrooms and we had 4 adults and 5 kids and it was a squeeze on beds etc. I wouldn’t recommend 14 people stay here. All in all though it was a magical location and the stay was great. Bekah the manager was so helpful and kind and sweet.
We had an absolute time staying at your cabin. We were so thankful that you were able to bring an air mattress for our group to use late on our second night staying there.
We would all love to come again in the future. Hopefully by then the mosquitos will have diminished some...loo
Thank you again for a beautiful stay.

My family of four- including two elementary school kids (and our dog) had a wonderfully relaxing time in this stunning log cabin. The views of Sag Channel from the cliff-top windows were breathtaking and its close proximity to the deep, northern woods made for some excellent x-country skiing and snowshoeing. We followed some otter tracks across the frozen lake- magical! We ramped up the cozy-factor in the cabin with daily fires in the fireplace (and also outside on the patio), snuggly reading nooks by the windows, and lots of hot cocoa. Bekah was wonderfully kind and quick to communicate. I highly recommend this property!
This idyllic cabin has terrific views overlooking a stretch of Lake Saganaga. One reason we chose this place is because this is a dog friendly cabin and we like to travel with our furry friend. We snowshoed and xc-skied right out the back door. The Blueberry Hill trail has great views from the top! We ice fished nearby lakes and caught several trout. The grill on deck was perfect for preparing a fresh trout dinner. While ice fishing, a moose popped out on lake, walked across to other side, and grazed branches as it walked down the shoreline until it was out of sight. Surreal. The host that lives just down the hill was delightful and helpful when we had questions about the area. We would definitely stay here again.
The property is beautiful. The location is even more beautiful. Excellent access to all the end of the Gunflint Trail has to offer. There were a couple of maintenance issues but I suspect those will be addressed.
Our family enjoyed the cozy log cabin after ice fishing, snowshoeing and hiking in the area. Our host was responsive and very accommodating . The 8 of us had a memorable mini-vacation but any more people would of been too crowded.
This was the perfect place for friends to gather and spend time together! The area is so peaceful, stunning views, and the cabin was great. We all agreed we couldn’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!
This modern cabin has all the bells and whistles and yet sits on the edge of one of the wildest and most untouched landscapes. The cabin was better than pictured, the management was extremely easily to communicate with and our stay was unparalleled. It was so wonderful to stay so close to the BWCA, the short paddle into it was magical. We typically camp in the BWCA but since having young children we’ve had to settle for the day paddle, but this gorgeous cabin situated at the top of the Gunflint made us feel like we got the best of both worlds; the commune with wilderness combined with the modern convenience for our little! We will be back!
Lovely cabin, perfect location. The kids swam off of the dock all week. We explored BWCAW on day trips. Thank you for a perfect family vacation.

About the host

I am a private businessman that has spent most of my career working in Asia. I recently purchased and restored this property and updated it to modern living standards. I enjoy buying older homes and rehabing them and then renting them out as vacation rentals. I hope you can come and stay with us at this unique one of a kind property.
Why they chose this property
This property is located at the edge of the beautiful Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. You can easily day canoe in and out of the BWCA from here and enjoy the adventure of the wilderness and the comfort of a modern home. We have expansive lake views from the deck and its the perfect place to sit down with friends for dinner after a long day out in the wilderness. This property sits directly on Saganaga which means that the Forestry Service will give you a day pass to enter the BWCA for free. Saganaga is also a access lake and Sag Corridor is the passage to Canada. As such, you can take a 25 HP boat on the lake to explore all the best fishing spots or just take in the spectacular scenery and wildlife.
What makes this property unique
One of a kind property located in a pristine wilderness area.
