About the host
Hosted by Joanna Horton McPherson
We are a young family who built our home with a guest apartment here on our land overlooking Lake Arenal. Here in Costa Rica, we do reforestation work locally to restore the area's pasture lands into a rainforest corridor connecting the area's volcano ecosystems.
Why they chose this property
Living here, we are able to grow organic food and eat out of our garden. We eat starfruit and passionfruit off the vine, and grown kale, lettuce, and countless veggies as well as many fruits from our young orchard. We got married here after our house was finished, and call this place home.
What makes this property unique
The 4 acres have trails leading down to a private and pristine quebrada (creek). Walking the land is a unique experience in viewing birds, butterflies, and many plants, flowers and trees native to Costa Rica.
