About this property
Secluded Gatlinburg Log Cabin w/ Hot Tub, Game Room & Mountain Views
Authentic 1800s Heritage Cabin: Secluded Peaks & Island Views The Story: 19th-Century History Meets 21st-Century Luxury Step into a piece of Smoky Mountain history at Anxybear. This is not a modern "kit" home; this is an authentic 1800s log cabin crafted from massive, hand-hewn timbers nearly two centuries ago. While the craftsmanship is historic, the amenities are purely modern, offering a "hygge" mountain atmosphere that modern construction simply cannot replicate.
The Elevation: A True Mountain-Top Escape Perched high above the valley for total seclusion, our cabin offers a perspective few guests ever experience. From your private deck, enjoy 180-degree panoramas of the Great Smoky Mountains and the glittering lights of the Pigeon Forge Island in the valley below.
The Space: Three Private Bedroom Suites Designed for groups and families who value privacy, Anxybear features three distinct bedroom suites. Each offers a "cocoon-like" quiet and natural soundproofing thanks to the thick, original log walls.
The Experience Relax: Melt into the mountain-facing private hot tub. Our high elevation ensures total privacy as you watch the sunset or the stars over the peaks.
Play: Contrast the old-world charm with our modern game room featuring arcade classics—the perfect hangout spot for all ages.
Unwind: Gather in the vaulted living area by the stone fireplace (available Oct–March). With unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi and a fully equipped kitchen, you have everything needed for a stress-free mountain retreat.
Important Note: The Mountain Ascent To reach the spectacular views at Anxybear, you will experience a true Smoky Mountain drive. We want you to be fully prepared for the journey:
The Route: A brief but steep 1-mile ascent (approx. 7 minutes) from the base of the mountain.
Road Conditions: The roads are paved and maintained. However, like most high-elevation roads in Gatlinburg, there are significant inclines and sharp turns. While safe, they may feel "unsettling" if you are not used to mountain driving.
Winter Requirements: In clear weather, a standard front-wheel-drive vehicle is fine. However, 4-Wheel Drive or Snow Chains are strictly required if snow or ice is present. We highly recommend travel insurance for winter stays.
Five-Star Standards & Guest FAQ Contactless Check-In: Enjoy total privacy with self-check-in. Our professional maintenance team is on standby should you need in-person assistance.
Elite Cleaning: We partner with a premier local company utilizing hospital-grade protocols.
The Hot Tub: 100% sanitized. We drain, scrub, and refill with fresh water and bromine for every single guest.
The Kitchen: Fully stocked with a blender, slow cooker, wine glasses, and a regular coffee pot.
Linens & Starter Kit: We provide all linens/towels plus a "Starter Kit" of paper products, trash bags, and hotel-size toiletries.
Mountain Neighbors: Our cabin is professionally treated, but you may encounter "beneficial" mountain visitors like Ladybugs or Millipedes. These are harmless parts of the ecosystem!
Quick-Look Amenities Heritage: Authentic 1800s hand-hewn log construction. Three Suites: 3 Bedrooms / 3 Full Bathrooms for maximum privacy. Epic Views: Mountain vistas + bird’s-eye view of Pigeon Forge Island. Wellness: Freshly sanitized 4-person hot tub on a private deck. Entertainment: Dedicated game room with Arcade; Smart TVs; High-speed Wi-Fi.

The cabin has breath taking views, and is in a convenient location to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. The owners were very accommodating, and we really enjoyed our stay!
I cannot say enough good things about our stay. The cabin was beautiful, clean, had comfortable beds, great views, and was a quick drive to town! My family travels to the smokies regularly and this cabin was my favorite of any that we have stayed in. I would without a doubt book here again.
We could not get over the location of this cabin.
It’s so close to gatlinburg yet so high up in the mountains with spectacular views.
Very clean with everything you could need .
The home was great and perfect size for our family. The mountain up to the home is a bit steep and scary, but we really enjoyed the games, hot tub and just relaxing.
This cabin was a dream! Its perfect for your family or couple getaway! Super comfortable, very clean and spacious and the view is simply amazing! The host were always very easy to reach to answer all our questions and they had great recommendations for the town. Thanks so much!
This cabin exceeded our expectations! The place was very clean, upscale, private, views were breathtaking and the location was very close to everything but far enough out to be in the mountains. I would highly recommended this place to anyone who wants the best experience and views while in the Smokey Mountains. It snowed while we were there, an added bonus to the beauty!! Thanks again for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin and we will definitely be back soon!!!!!
The location of this property was perfect. Just a quick drive to Gatlinburg. If we had any questions the response was quick. The house was very tastefully decorated. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Had a great stay. Pictures and descriptions are accurate. We had 4 adults, 2 per bedroom, and 2 kids in the basement/game room. It’s well equipped. Road is windy but they all are. Especially if you want a view and this spot has it.
Beautiful get away in the mountains but close to downtown Gatlinburg.
The cabin was open, spacious and cozy all at the same time. Enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. Was really nice to feel that we were secluded but so close to the grocery store and downtown Gatlinburg. The only downfall was when the fog came, combined with the dark made it really tricky driving up the mountain. Overall great experience!
The home was even better than the pictures. Location was great, just a few quick minutes to the heart of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. And the sunsets were stunning with perfect views from either balcony.
I had a quick question for the owner and got a response within minutes. Just an overall fantastic experience.
The cabin is beautiful. Upon arrival it was clean and well stocked with items you would need for your stay. De was prompt to answer questions and check in to make sure everything was going well. My family and I enjoyed the tic-tac-toe, connect 4, and pool games. The hot tub was also a hit. The road up is a little nerve wracking, but if you get there in the day it is easily managed. Highly recommend a stay here!
Great cabin in the woods with amazing view AND close to downtown Gatlinburg!
We stayed at the end of October and the trees were beautiful. The house was perfectly situated between trees. It was tricky at night to navigate the winding roads. The house was very clean and we enjoyed the hot tub and pool table. I personally am cold all the time and I loved the fireplace! Having three bathrooms was also a nice luxury.

Beautiful Views
We had a wonderful stay, the cabin is absolutely breath taking literally lol. The hottub was much needed after a long day of walking and hiking. The beds could be alil more comfortable, and the drive to get there is alil hard and scary that's the only negative thing I would say. But everything else was great!
Beautiful cabin conveniently located to areas of interest. Cabin was very clean and well appointed. The only complaint is that the listing could have been more clear regarding the last stretch of road to get to the cabin. Our full sized truck could not make the last turn so we would end up having to back up that stretch of road.
The cabin was everything that the owners said. However the road to the cabin was a little difficult on one turn because we had to go forward then back up and then go forward again. Maybe if we were in a smaller car it wouldn’t been so bad.
We loved the cabin the whole trip. The location was wonderful. Right near downtown and from the house you are so close you could see downtown gatlinburg and pigeon forge. The only tiny thing was a good bit of flys and lady bugs. The lady bugs were bad but the flys were a tiny bit annoying. If you keep the door shut they don’t get into the rooms. The hosts had wonderful communication the whole time during our stay as well!! They are just peachy.
Wow, let me start off with how amazing the views are at this cabin. Absolutely breathtaking. Upon our arrival, the check-in was easy and smooth. House was immaculate and had all the essentials we needed. Just a fair warning, getting up to the cabin is a bit nerve racking, but just take your time getting up and make sure you have all wheel drive. We did have one issue with the hot tub not heating, but the host rectified the issue right away. If we were to return, we will definitely be back to rent this cabin.
We stay in Gatlinburg often, but I must say this cabin has one of the best views! We came to stay during Christmas, but had to leave early. The winter storm came in and the pipes froze. We didn't have water, so we had to cut the trip short. This was no fault on the owners. They were in constant contact with us, and refunded us some of the money. It is a beautiful and clean cabin with a great view!
