Property is in a quiet neighborhood. Perfectly located on the water within walking distance of trails and parks. Also convenient for trips into Oakland and San Francisco.
This small space worked ideal for the purpose of our visit. Located near friends and we needed it only to sleep. Virtually no sounds proofing, yet comfortable. We would stay here again.
This is a perfect location for a San Francisco visit. Ferry access eliminates the expense and headaches of driving into the city. Alameda is a hidden gem of a neighborhood that is safe and has excellent ethnic food.
Gary & Lisa were great hosts! The room was perfect for the two of us! Right on the water, very peaceful and close enough to town we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. They were extremely kind & even let us borrow their kayaks to explore the bay & Marina area. We LOVED it and will be back forsure! Thank you!
Bedroom is in a condo, but has its own entrance. Table and chairs on deck is shared with owner. Owner very nice! Room needs a bit of a cleaning - shower somewhat moldy. Cobwebs on the walls. Water, coffee maker, snacks included - nice touch. "Kitchenette" is actually in a closet - kinda strange. Perfect location in Alameda.
This was such a relaxing place to stay. You have your own dock with many items to use not just a bbq.
We spoke with Gary a few times. Once was regarding the bathroom fan, he was very empathetic and responsive. Lisa, we only got a chance to say hi in passing.
We didn’t get to spend much time here… wish we did. For our first VRBO type stay, it was a huge success.
Thank you Gary and Lisa for having us.

Nice location
The location was very nice but the room was VERY hot and the mobile air conditioner was not functional. Be aware that this is a room in a house with a separate entrance but you do share walls with the owners. There were plenty of towels and bottles of water along with a few snacks which was nice. But the used bottles of shampoo/body wash in the shower kind of grossed me out. Also, the tv was older and not a smart tv so there were few channels and not great reception.

It not common for the weather in San Francisco Bay to need air conditioning.

Peaceful bayside retreat
Tranquility of sitting outdoors viewing the marina channel and the bay very pleasurable. Owner did not respond to my request for specific information. The room could use maintenance and upgrades:
•Kitchenette/closet area needed dusting and lacked dishwashing liquid.
•Tub/shower faucet needs to be loosened. Very difficult to turn on.
•Walls are very thin. I could hear snoring at night. Their cooking smelled good, though--waffles in the morning and curry at night. Share some with guest? :) :)

Thanks for the comments. We will make adjustments.
As soon as we got there, we tried to heat up our food in the microwave and the breaker goes. This happened throughout our stay. At one point we were without power to our fridge bathroom and TV. He finally got an electrion to come out on Friday, the day we were leaving. Was not a fun time.
Our room was very nice. You can’t really prepare food there but they have converted a closet into a small kitchenette with a refrigerator microwave and coffee maker. If you are just going to sleep there it is perfect. It is attached to their living quarters so you can hear them which means they can hear you. Beautiful setting right on the bay. Would definitely stay there again.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed visiting San Francisco but staying outside of it for sleep! Bed was comfortable though be careful not to stub your toe! Water gets very hot fast.
We spent two nights here and slept great. We were active during the day and just need to sleep. All that you need for a relaxing evening and night. Very well kept and clean.
Had a great visit! Worked perfect for us!! Would definitely stay here again!

Not a great space
I booked this space almost a year ago. I’ve learned a lot since then. This is a bedroom in a house with an exterior door. If you need a comfortable bed and little more, it may work for you. The deck over the canal offers gorgeous seating outside. Inside there are lots of deferred maintenance issues, such as hard to start faucets, bathroom fan that took 5 minutes to start and then sounded like it was about to fall out of the ceiling. The bathroom light would randomly turn off. The walls are paper thin, and offer little privacy. You can hear snoring and arguments and I’m sure they can hear everything that we said. The hair dryer was dirty,

Charming apt with everything you need provided. Enjoyed the views from the dock and deck. Took several pictures of San Francisco across the bay. Loved it and will be returning again the next time we visit our daughter in Alameda

GREAT LITTLE PLACE FOR ONE (2 if you are comfortable in relatively small places.) this could easily be a 5 star if it had immediately outside the sliding door (which is your only door to enter unit) a table and good size seat to be comfortable with a small crank out awning so the sun glare would not affect the computer screen you need to work on to change flights etc. price is half the price of a hotel price so YES, I will stay there again. bathroom fixtures are new and tight so tight we thought we would break the faucet if we pulled any harder to activate the faucet. A sign should be posted as we went without shover and sink the first night it was so tight. we did not want to damage fixtures. Found parking easily most nights and it is very nice and quiet.
Parking and access are very good in a quiet neighborhood. Bed was very comfortable and enjoyed Keurig coffee , and lots of it, each morning on semi private area on there dock. The room was a little tight for a 5 day stay. The faucets were very hard to turn on and off, the bath room fan groaned loudly or did not works at all. The fluorescent light in the bathroom had one bulb burned out and the other one to flickered all the time.
