Old charm home, very warm and welcoming. Beautiful views of nature and local wildlife. Perfect location, close to everything. Easy communication offering town information on events, food, etc. Lovely stay, hope be back again soon.Susan
The hosts were kind and gracious and we enjoyed their wonderful cabin so much. It is one of the original homes in Kernville with a amazing view of the mountains and beautiful sunsets. The cabin is climate controlled wonderfully and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are updated and beautiful.
Cozy and Comfortable Cottage overlooking Kernville
Family went to Kernville to enjoy some rafting on the Kern River and drive up to the Sequoia National Forest. Despite every day being over 100 degrees, the A/C kept the cottage cool. The beds were comfortable and Erin was great at communicating with us. Even alerted us that our route out of town might need to be changed due to an unexpected road closure.Downtown, Circle Park, all the restaurants were all walkable and within 1 mile maximum. Even with the heat, the walks were pleasant. The trail of 100 Giants was less than one hour drive.
Erin,
We really appreciated your home in the Kern Valley. When we return to the Valley we'll be sure to look up VBRO for availability again. Regards, Ray
Nice house close to town. We were able to walk to restaurants and store easily.
Would stay again during cooler temperatures and better fishing on the river.
Very relaxing. Only thing that could have been better was the temperature. It was hot when we arrived but not unbearable. Enjoyed being able to walk to store. We ate at Ewing's and The Pizza Barn. Both were very good. Nice friendly little town. We also went to see the Sequoia trees at Trail of 100 Giants.
The house was just right for us. My husband, dad, and I enjoyed the covered porch in the evening. The swamp cooler did its job when the temperature went up. Close to the market and restaurants. The new Ewing’s is great! The property is clean, private, and quiet.
The house was perfect for me, my husband and our dog. It was private and peaceful and the view of the mountains were stunning. Sat out on the deck drinking coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The wildlife was amazing in particular, the herd of deer that came right next to the house/deck didn't seem to kind us having wine and watching them in the evenings. Kernville is a nice town with great places to eat before you head out for hiking, rafting, site seeing. Friendly people, great town, lots to do outdoors. Will make another trip again. Thank you Erin for everything!
This place will be tough to beat. Such a quiet, quaint area with scenery in all directions. Our hostess was second to none - very responsive and knowledgeable. Id suggest a hike to the mine, should you feel up to it.
Wonderful couple of days here - hope to be back some day!
A very pleasant stay. Communication with owner was very accurate and efficient. Very tastefully-remodeled small house. Multiple places to sit and drink a coffee and check out the views across the valley.
Adorable bungalow with great amenities, scenic location minutes away from everything. The house is so cute with fully updated bathrooms, wrap around porch with a view of the valley. I would definitely stay here again and Erin the host, is so nice.
I feel like we came across a diamond nesled comfy in the mountains. The entire property was amazing. The house was super clean and so cute! Clean remodled bathrooms, very comfy home. Huge deck. 2 more decks located around the property so you can enjoy every angle of the views offered. Lots of wildlife and the location was close enough to local attractions/restaurants/stores without even knowing it. It so was peaceful. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for your 5 star hospitality, Erin!
The property was great, clean, and modernized. It had very nice bedrooms and large bathrooms. And a very nice wrap around porch with a great view. Everything was super cozy and and relaxing. There is alot of land on the property so you get a nice peaceful quiet escape. Would def recommend.
This property is huge and so quiet yet still very close to the market, river activities and restaurants! We loved the house. The kitchen was nice. Really loved that stove. The master bath was beautiful!
The Kernville area was great too. Each morning we rode bikes in the Sequoias near Alta Sierra ski hill then went windsurfing on Lake Isabella or paddling on the river! This trip is during Covid 19 so we mostly stayed away from restaurants but did get a pizza to take home and enjoy on the huge decks with a wonderful view! Great experience overall!
What an adorable little spot just above the Kern River. You are close enough to walk to restaurants, but just far enough away from campground noise. Right there, yet secluded. The huge front porch is great for cool evenings and quiet mornings where you can hear the river flowing. It's a great spot to launch all kinds of adventures--along the river and in Sequoia Nat'l Park--about 3 miles up the road. I think this home was even better than the photos. Definitely comfortable for 2, 3, or 4 people!
Very nice house with good cooking facilities and views (even deer in the yard). Erin was great. Unfortunately, we had to leave early because of the stay-at-home order and didn't have a chance to explore the Kernville area. The drive in on 178 from 395 was beautiful and we enjoyed a short hike at the Audubon reserve.
Thanks so much we had a great time The house is awesome and a perfect location to walk to town and still nestled away. Great view of town from the front porch.
