Cozy Log Home, Centrally Located, 2 Master Suites, Hot Tub, Game and Movie Rooms

Centrally located in Sky Harbor and only minutes to ALL the area attractions in both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge! Close to everything yet located in a wooded neighborhood with seasonal views. Plus a nice level parking area for up to four vehicles as an added feature!

Our beautiful log home features TWO large master suites with king size beds on separate floors for privacy. Each with their own baths with extra large jetted tubs! Ideal for two couples, but great for families and couples too! Flat screen TV's with DVD players in both bedrooms.

Just walk in the front door and you will be greeted with a homey feel. Our stacked stone gas fireplace with rustic carved hemlock mantle greets you from the corner of the living room, open cathedral ceiling, comfy furnishings, rustic décor and woodsy atmosphere. We have a queen size sofa sleeper for added sleeping, if needed, in the movie room. Above the fireplace we have a new 65" 4K Ultra HD flat screen TV (New in 2022!) with Spectrum Cable, Sound Bar and a Blue Ray/DVD Player for your enjoyment.

Upstairs in the large balcony you can enjoy a fun game of pool or enjoy our new multi arcade table added in 2021! Over in the corner we have a game table with a varied assortment of board games and jigsaw puzzles for the family to play. Or you can walk out on the covered second floor balcony and relax in our Adirondack chairs or a comfy rocker and enjoy the sunsets and sounds of nature!

Our modern kitchen comes fully equipped with all the appliances and gadgets you may need. Side by side refrigerator/freezer with built in ice maker for cubes or crushed ice. Stainless steel glass top stove/oven and microwave. Midea super quiet dishwasher. We have both a regular drip coffee maker and a Keurig. Many extras like a crock pot, blender, mixer, can opener, pots, pans, dinnerware and more!!! We even have an assortment of spices in case you forgot to bring some.

Looking for entertainment? Why not try out our media movie room? We paid attention to every detail right down to the movie posters on the wall! NEW in 2022! Our 86" big screen HD TV featuring many cable channels with HBO, new (2021) surround sound system for full movie theater effect and blue ray/DVD player will satisfy the movie buff in you. Close the door, turn out the lights and put on your favorite movie and you will feel like you are front row at your own private movie! We even started adding some DVD's for our guests to enjoy. Into gaming? Bring your game console and hook into our HDMI provided cable and enjoy gaming on the big screen! Comfortable seating for up to six with a new (2020) queen size sofa sleeper that pulls out to accommodate more sleeping area guests. Also added in 2022 three brand new overstuffed recliners. So bring your games and gaming devices and your blue ray or DVD discs and enjoy our media room. With the queen size sleeper sofa you could use this room as a third bedroom.

Thinking of something a little more relaxing? How about a soothing dip in our brand-new hot tub added spring of 2025 on our screened in private deck? By the hot tub we added a pub table and stools for four so you could enjoy outdoor dining (without the pests) even on rainy days. Or relax in the evening with your favorite beverage, interesting conversation or maybe a game of cards by the light of our realistic LED candles. New in 2022! We added a flat screen TV with Roku stick so you can watch TV from the hot tub or relaxing on the screened in deck. We also have added comfortable rockers on the first-floor deck to kick back to the sights and sounds of nature and enjoy your vacation!

Linda and I just purchased Paws and Unwind in the spring of 2019 and we are excited to share it with you. We have personally spent many weeks making updates and adding our personal touches to our wonderful log home. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! You can also check out our Facebook page. We had a wonderful stay!!! We had a relaxing time in the hot tub (and even watched a movie on the TV outside), watched movies in the theater room, and had everything we needed for meals. There were a lot of little touches that made our stay very comfortable like thick, plush towels, plenty of towel racks/hooks, extra fans in the bedrooms, and comfortable beds and plush pillows! We will certainly be back!!!!

incredible four nights!

Our family of four loved our four nights at Mike and Linda’s cabin. Everything was just as described! We hiked 20 miles around Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and came back to clean up and relax in the afternoons. An epic thunderstorm came through the last day and we watched it safely inside. The cabin gives quick access to the park, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. Would stay there again!

We had a great time! The cabin had everything we needed. My kids especially loved the game room upstairs and the movie room downstairs. It is located inbetween gatlinburg and pigeon forge. It was pretty easy to get to both places! The hosts were so nice and helped with anything we needed. They even sent us a video of the bear around our vehicle!We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely come back!

Linda and I welcome you to our wonderful Smoky Mountain Log Home. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. We both grew up in Pennsylvania but shortly after we got married we moved away to Maine and our future in the lodging business. We have spent the last 39 years in the hospitality business first in Northern Maine and then in remote Alaska. We built, owned and ran a remote off the grid lodge in northern Maine for 25 years building a log lodge and five guest cabins out of the wilderness. After all those years of running such a large business in such a remote location we needed to downsize.

While our Maine lodge was on the market we moved to Alaska and built another VERY remote fishing lodge, again off the grid. Running both places for three years was a challenge but eventually we sold our Maine lodge and downsized to a much smaller business in Alaska. We spent twelve years catering to fishing guests from all over the world. Our Alaskan lodge was a fly in only access which taught us to be very resourceful. Most of our supplies were brought in the winter over frozen rivers by snow sled (snowmobiles to those not from Alaska). It was easier, and cheaper, to bring supplies in that way then to fly them in.

After twelve years of dealing with earthquakes, wildfires, bugs, long days and floods we decided we wanted to call it quits and look for an easier lifestyle. We spent a year searching for just the perfect place and when we found Paws and Unwind we knew we found it!

When we are not in Tennessee Linda and I still live off the grid back in northern Maine. We are long distance owners but we will make every effort to make your vacation memorable. Even though we are very remote we have satellite internet and phone so that if you our guests have a problem you can reach us personally and we will take care of it as fast as we can. We have aligned ourselves with great people who will take care of any problems that arise. Thanks for checking s out!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Paws and Unwind the first time we saw it! What a great location so close to all the activity yet off the beaten path in a quiet wooded neighborhood. The cabin had everything we wanted. When we called the realtor for the property it had already had an offer but the realtor told us she would show it to us anyway. We thought it was torture having to look at the cabin we wanted so bad knowing that it was out of touch but we still went to see it. We also looked at about a dozen other properties and with each one we looked at we realized that the one we wanted was still the cabin we fell in love with. Linda and I were set to leave without finding that perfect property that clicked like Paws and Unwind. Our last day of property shopping our realtor showed up at our hotel to show us yet another property when she told us that the offer on our Paws and Unwind fell through! Before she could say another word I think Linda and I both told her at the same time we will take it!!! We are so happy we got the cabin we wanted, I guess it was meant to be! We think you will love Paws and Unwind too!

What makes this property unique

We can't really say what was the one thing that Paws and Unwind had that caught our eye. But I think it was the combination of everything. The location, the layout and the potential. By potential, I mean what we have in plans for it. All our places over the years have been a work in progress, a labor of love! Over the next few years we are going to turn Paws and Unwind into our masterpiece. Eventually all the furniture in Paws and Unwind will be handcrafted to fit the outdoor theme of the Smoky Mountains. As our fifth year anniversary approaches we have added some new touches to the cabin. Handmade decorative shutters to the outside have added a touch of color to and otherwise plain log wall. We replaced a very plain ugly quilt on the living room wall with a large hand carved wildlife mural that has really brought the room to life! We also replaced the very basic mantle over the fireplace with a new rough sawn hand carved hemlock timber mantle that the fireplace really needed, it has cute little bear paws carved on each side. In 2021 we tore up the tile flooring in both bathrooms and put in new wood laminate flooring that compliments the knotty pine walls. We stained all the balconies, porches, log railings and we stripped the painted oak door and refinished it back to its original beauty. A new surround sound system has been added in the movie room and many more other smaller features have been added throughout the cabin. In fall 2021 we just removed the old foosball table and replaced it with a new multi arcade game table with over 60 video games! New in 2022 we added a 86 inch HDTV to the movie room! Now you truly have the movie theater experience! We are also adding three new overstuffed recliners in the movie room. We replaced the HVAC system in 2022. Over the years in our lodges in Maine and Alaska our guests always looked forward to seeing what we were going to do next We hope that is what our guests enjoy that about Paws and Unwind! What will we do next?
