About this property
Tiny House on Cherry Mountain. Quiet pastoral setting, starry nights & fire ring
This tiny house is set up in a pasture near a lightly traveled country road. Good views, but not breathtaking. It’s not too remote, but yet private enough. Convenient to Fredericksburg (about 8 miles) & 12 miles to Enchanted Rock by the back road. The following is a recent review that we loved because we worked hard putting the place together.
“This tiny house is bursting with charm! It has everything you need and nothing you don't! It's the perfect size, with a very tall ceiling and plenty of natural light. The property is remote with great visibility of the night sky but still just minutes away from the center of Fredericksburg. We liked how close it is to Enchanted Rock. Gentle cows roam the property and it was a treat to wake up to them right outside the fenced in house. A fire pit stocked with firewood was a real treat after long days of hiking. We were grateful for the added amenities and hospitality. This Tiny House was a real dream!”
It feels pretty big for a tiny house, but is best occupied by a maximum of two people; however, really friendly people (or people with small children) could bring air mattresses or otherwise provide for extra sleeping on the floor, but remember, it’s called a tiny house for a reason. This place is best suited for the young or at least agile because you will have to be able to climb a few stairs to get into the house & then climb more stairs to the bed in the loft (see photos).
There are limited amenities: NO CABLE and NO Wi-Fi, but it does have a TV and a very random selection of DVDs. You should be able to access the internet from this property using your cell phone. HOWEVER, because the house is metal clad the signal is better much better outside on the porch. AT&T provides a 2-3 bar LTE signal here; *PLEASE NOTE *—> SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE provide VERY POOR or NONEXISTENT SIGNALS at this property. There is no Wi-Fi or internet except what you may bring with you on your own device. There is no cable or satellite TV. A random assortment of DVDs is located in the bottom right hand drawer.
The ceiling fan is operated by remote control only, and there are also remotes for the Air Conditioner, the DVD player and the TV. The hot water is an electric on demand type system.
The steps up to the loft area are more like a ladder than a set of stairs. Consequently, when coming down it is best to turn around and “back down” rather than trying to go down facing forward. In other words, face the bed when coming down the ladder.

The place was as advertised and offered us all we needed to disconnect, unwind, and relax. Our dog enjoyed feeling like he was finally in his element! He’s a cattle dog. The cows added some entertainment.
Lodging is a trailer in a rural area. Pictures of the interior are accurate; trailer is clean and cute.Outside property is not attractive at all, gives an impression of being an abandoned trailer. Not the right place for two ladies alone.Property owners should be required to post pictures of the exterior of the lodging. The outside is as important as the inside.I should have taken pictures of the outside.
We had such a wonderful time at this property. It made us realize we would love to have something similar one day! We are very grateful for the experience of quiet evenings and beautiful warm mornings in pastoral serenity. The location was perfect, just outside of town and close to Enchanted Rock for a day adventure. The decor was so unique and endearing. The hosts were wonderful and kind. I would highly recommend a stay, and we hope to visit again soon!
The tiny home was extremely cozy and we loved the property. Tiny home was clean and in a great location. The only knock on the property was the water pressure in the shower other than that everything was great and we will be staying again in the near future.
My wife and I rented this property to escape the fireworks in our neighborhood for the first of the year. While my neighborhood was setting off massive amounts of fireworks, I was able to stay at this little cabin and enjoy the peace and quiet I was looking for. I would definitely stay there again. This small cabin was exactly what we were looking for.
This place was great! The hosts kept the inside very clean and honestly had all items that may be necessary to be used. Cooking pans, utensils, single stove burner, radio, etc — which was so nice. We loved how it felt isolated yet still close to town as well as Enchanted Rock. The livestock were also a plus! They came right near the Tiny House and we got some great pictures. Most of all, we loved that we were able to bring our pup and genuinely had the best weekend and stay.
The place is a little rough on the outside, but so nice and comfy on the inside of the home.
We had all that we needed in the place except for plates.
The TV worked great for movies, and the bed and linens were very comfortable.
The bathroom was roomy with good water pressure in the shower.
Longhorns were nice around the place in the morning, and had it not been wet and rainy, we would have enjoyed the wood for the fire.
We will return in the future.🙂
Owner was there, didn't say much. No offer to help unload/carry a few things. No running water when I arrived; after the well was repaired the water came out brown with sediment. I was afraid to drink it. No way to identify if you have the correct place when you pull up; no address, no signage. Owner promised to text me 'a few things'; never got it. There were no plates, no bowls. Grassy area was not taken care of; didn't care to sit outside in long grass to see the sunset or any view. Deck and stairs definitely not barefoot friendly. Bathroom faucet comes out in a tiny jet, water goes everywhere. Not enough creamer for coffee; would have called the hosts but had no contact information. No text follow up to see if I had what I needed, or for any questions. AC needs to go down to the lowest setting for comfort. Bed was pretty ok. A little tidying up around the house would have been more welcoming; miscellaneous wood and mechanical parts laying around. Definitely way overpriced. Wish I had known that well water ruins your hair; had to use vinegar rinse when I got home. But was somewhat close to Fredericksburg Main St. Definitely dark and quiet at night.
