We enjoyed a wonderful New Year’s Eve at Big Cedar Lodge! The condo and amenities were perfect! We enjoyed watching fireworks from the condo’s balcony. Thank you!

Heads up

We booked this well in advance. When we checked in we were greeted with hostility by a very rude woman. Somehow the booking service had us in one room for 2 nights and another room for the last 2 nights. This was our wedding weekend. After telling us how much they hate VRBO she got us straightened out to one room for all 4 days. Our brother and sister in law went to check in at the same place (Wilderness Lodge) and even though they booked well in advance AND paid in full AND had the same reservation number that the check in person had they would not let them check in because the owners of the unit did not put their (brother and sis in law) names in the reservation. They got there at 3 and our wedding was at 6. They refused to check them in or give them a refund. They had to find a hotel at the last minute 1/2 hr away. They were treated HORRIBLY by the staff. We also discovered the The Wilderness Lodge is treated like the red headed step child of Big Cedar. Apparently the owners of the units bought them as time shares and we were told they are not supposed to rent them out. VRBO made this trip horribly for us and our family on our special weekend. Think twice before booking. Also, you will get no house keeping. Be prepared to be treated horribly by staff.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!

This was an awful experience. We rented a 1 BR room (room with separate br and living space) and were given a studio (room that is all in one). When we reached out to the owner we were pushed a property management company that told us that we were correct that we received the wrong room but it was OUR responsibility to get it fixed. When we brought this issue to the resort they were 100% confident that it was on the owner end. No refund was issued and no resolution was found. Terrible customer service and major false advertisement. Awful expereince.

Christmas Fun

Our annual trip at Christmas time was magical as usual. If you have small kids. The Saturday Christmas tree lighting with Santa visit is a must. It is worth the cost of the property. The room was clean, well maintained, comfortable beds!!

Gem of the Ozarks

Beautiful, quiet resort with great amenities and restaurants. Next time I'll know to request a unit on an upper floor and closer to the lake. Very special place to stay!

Wilderness Club

We had a nice time and enjoyed all the views. It wasn’t quite as clean as I’d hoped and the sheets/blankets for the pull out bed were lacking but we made it work. I would also recommend an air freshener in the condo.

Love the property!

Love the property - everything about it was perfect! There was some miscommunication with VRBO though - I was told to mention the "host" upon arrival, but the stay was in my name. Made for some confusion - and brief panic!! Otherwise, the property was amazing.

We had a wonderful visit. Our only issue was with the room accommodations as they seemed worn. Torn couch, scratched and worn side tables, chipped countertops, failed seals in the glass and cob webs.

Family Trip

Location was in close proximity to a children's pool and adult pool. Shuttles were quick to arrive and got you to where you needed to go. Would come back for sure.

Family Vacation

A great spot for our family vacation this year! It was very clean, had everything needed for our stay, plus we had a great view! It was in a great location for morning walks. We saw deer, rabbits, a skunk(!), geese, chipmunks, fish, and turtles. The pools and lake were amazing. I loved the app for requesting shuttle rides. It worked well and was very convenient. Looking forward to our next visit!

Family Fun

Big Cedar was what we expected from the online description. Fun for all ages. We really enjoyed the activities, most of which are extra cost. We would go back. The only down side was we didn’t prepare properly for food/meals. Although there are on property options we would have preferred to have groceries ion hand for breakfast/lunch. Our own fault.

Beautiful Resort!

This is a gorgeous resort and far enough but not too far from all the Branson activities. As some other visitors noted the buildings are older and you can def hear the foot traffic on the floor above you. We had a family above us and it made it difficult to sleep in or take a nap. Not enough annoyance to not stay there but be aware. The kitchens are equipped efficiently but bring anything you might need. Also, check the restaurant menus close to your arrival. I looked too far back and I was pretty disappointed with the beast options being mostly buffet style throughout the resort. We rented paddle boards and a boat to explore the lake. If you are comfortable with driving a boat it’s a great option and affordable for what you get to do. We would come back!

Perfect Vacation

We always love staying at the wildness club. Comfortable and clean rooms. We traveled with three families and rented a two bedroom and one bedroom unit. Very peaceful and quiet. Pools are amazing and chose a different pool every day. And I love that everything is on property. We packed a lot of food but the restaurants are great. Rooms came fully equipped with all the cooking items we would need. We did yoga, golf cart ride, boats, paddle boats. Can’t wait to go back.

Nice Option for Big Cedar

Stay and room were great. A mix up with the rental company but they ultimately got me the details for arrival. Recommend this place if you are considering Club Wilderness

Time for some upgrades

Hi- Although we enjoyed our stay overall, there are some areas that are starting to show some wear at the property. It would be nice if the doors were painted more regularly (lots of chipped paint and unwelcoming). We also had ants in our kitchen on the 2nd day of our stay. We were told that was a common occurrence on the first floor, especially since it had just rained. Still, ew. We were able to be moved to another room and enjoyed it much more. A lot of the furniture is starting to show wear.

Unit was well maintained and decorated nicely. Room was clean and bedding was comfortable. One thing out of owners control was the family above us running sprints in their room at 7 am to 8 pm. Would suggest putting families with young children o bottom floors.

Great getaway

The property (big cedar) is beautiful- we loved exploring and being outdoors! Plenary of things to do! The lodging is nice- full kitchen- spacious bathrooms/bedroom. Front desk drops cookies to the room every evening which is a nice touch. Our biggest complaint is we were on first floor and could hear everyone above us (I.e. when they got up to walk to bathroom at 2am). The building is older and creaky. My suggestion is to ask for a higher floor if possible! We had enough kitchen things to get by but if you are planning to cook a gourmet meal then check first to make sure they have everything you need! Front desk was very accommodating and the shuttle system is super convenient- they will take you anywhere you need to go (aside from top of the rock). Great trip, beautiful scenery!!
